  1. Here are my two cents.

With all bags, quality it is batch specific. All because you got a great bag from seller X once doesnt mean all his products are spot on.

its like buying a current 243 M from a TD dealer. Your so happy you buy a daytona or navi that looks like a POC. Who/whats to blame ?

Did you do enough research to see how the bag is CURRENTLY rep and who has it in stock ? rep soft goods has forums just like rep watches except they are more anal and picky.

Basically all runs and models arent made the same. They has HUGE variations.

I can share what I found out the hard way ($$$). Rep bag dealers usually does one product or brand really well but still has a ton of other items for sell. The other products are average at best, with major flaws.

    Now about Ken

Ken does belts really, really well. I love his polos, other has had problems in the past but as I said it maybe brand/run specific.

Ken soars in customer service. He does this better than ANY dealer I've came across, With that said you should have just PM him and he would have addressed it promptly and fairly.

I think you should have given Ken feedback before posting in publc. He is a drop ship dealer. He doesn't know a product/batch/factory is having issues until someone tells him.

I also think with bags, high quality QC pics are must. But, sadly I think Ken is getting away from this with his website.

  2. I guess if you have 1k dollars for the gen bracelet. Why stop there, get the gen dial for $800 Gen crystal for $250 Gen insert for $450 Gen 3135 movement for $1500 That's about $4500 Might as well buy a gen 16610Lv

Gen parts arent that much. Just like anything you have to shop around.

  3. The project is a no go. I found this info on a gen forum

    ......................... Sub................. Sub Date
    Case Size ........ 39.5mm................ 39.5mm
Case inc Crown . 43.50mm..............43.60mm (difference could be possible to a higher seated tube)
    Bezel Diameter... 39.5mm ...............40.00mm
Thickness.......... 12.20mm ..............12.55mm (Sub Date middle case is thicker as is the bezel)
    Crystal Diameter..29mm ...................30mm
    Visible Dial..........25.5mm..................26.5mm
    Lugs.................Holes..................No Holes (since ~2001)
    Hand length.....................same.......

  4. I'm with the others.

    He offered a full refund.

    I often do the same.

"3 day inspection period if watch isnt as stated or picture"

But also look at it from hike's standpoint. You could have damaged the watch yourself. He did offer to take it back. You really cant do any better than that.

  5. I think your experience is out of the norm. Orient make some very robust watches. The orient star line is incredible.

Sorry to here you either got a bad apple or a return that wasn't marked as such

Did you buy it new or used. If you brought it new send it back.

If you brought it used that maybe your issue

  6. If you have to question it. You are having doubts about the seller. There no such thing as once in a lifetime deal. if you are having doubts, just walk away.

Plus I dont think the DSSD will hold its value long term. Its just too unbalance among other things.

  7. For the maxi dial and lv insert i would go for tc case and yuki 3135 mvt and then try to get gen hands and crystal.

Becous if you use a 2824 mvt you need to cut the dial feet.

Sorry for not updating this thread. I recently brought a gen sub. The maxi and insert is going it that. Which will increase the value of the sub $1500 from what I paid for it. I'm going to keep the original subs dial and insert to place back into the sub for when I sell/trade the sub. As far as the maxi dial and LV insert, the prices are getting crazy stupid.

I just need to find a nice case to put the no date dial into.

  8. I'm not too up to speed on the modern Rolexes and Rolex cases, but I found this thread on the WUS Rolex forum. here is the link. Now bear in mind, this is for genuine. The TC cases may very well be the same size for date and non date. Are your dials the same size (Diameter?) Are they genuine dials?

Thanks a heap. All the above parts are gen. Thanks it helps me not make a costly mistake on a project that couldnt be finished.

  9. TC sub, and then you could go either way LV sub or a nice non date with the black no date and black insert. Movement, you need a fast beat, so I would say either a 2836 or a 2824 whichever fits the case better. Or you could use the movement and hands from the TC sub

I'm thinking about doing this. Is a gen no date sub the same size as a gen date sub ?Can I just drop this dial into a TC sub ?

    Is the maxi dial sealed??
