  1. Hi all,

maybe not the right place to post this but anyway , i been around for rough 5 months or so not so active with posting but more reading and browsing other members posts . I had recently obtained the PO 45 mm from Precious and have been completely satified with the whole experience of the purchase and also the watch recived.

Before the deal i turned to some of the members on board for answers that provided me with the information needed all of you were kind to my nevbie type questions and did ure best to fill me whit info on every step , manny thx to you all .

This said im glad i found this boards and am now wisiting daily to extend my knowledge ,read reviews , check picture galery links etc.

    Best regards , Laz

I'm right with you Laz ! I've been a member roughly the same length of time and I am amazed at the amount of information I have picked up. I have amassed a number of, what I would class as, very high quality reps and I now have some idea of what to look for so the chance of "being seen off" with shoddy replicas that die within a short time are reduced. I would like to say a BIG THANKS to the team at RWG and all the members for a great site and long may it continue !! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  2. As far as I know, yes, the blue Planet Ocean Chrono is a fantasy watch. If anyone knows differently, I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but as far as I know, it is a fantasy model...

From what I have read in other threads, the blue PO (chrono/non chrono) is a fantasy watch but, strangely enough, I actually quite like the look of it .... ;)

  3. hi Fireman fred

IS that the SMP from watch silix with asian movement or the ETA version from silix prime.??

I am just right now thinking of getting one, and the one I saw on their watch silix site wasnt too crash hot.

they have a silix prime site which is suppose to be better quality.??

So please let me know, as I am about to get one soon.

    Hi david-aussie

I ordered my SMP form Silix-prime and it has the ETA 2824 m'ment. If I was going to order another SMP, I would probably try another dealer !

  4. Where I live, Ottawa: Canada, the watch dealers are so clueless that most couldn't tell a replica just by its appearance on the wrist. Honestly, some of the people here behind the counter are so uneducated... I remember asking the lady how many "jewels were in the daytona" and then she emitted the most positively confused stare and responded "this one doesn't come with diamonds, but you can get one with diamonds, I can order one for you if you want... is that what you want?"

Another time I was trying on a Tissot at a less expensive store, automatic, and started wobbling it back and forth to wind it up so I could see how the hand swept. I got the typical reply... "Be careful... what are doing shaking it like that... dont break it"

A few weeks later, at the same store, a lady told me the same Tissot was apparently non-functional most likely because the battery was dead.

Back to a luxury Breitling dealer in the city's core and single Breitling AD: The salesman spends about 5 minutes trying to unhinge the bracelet on a navitimer. Of course, I asked to see the Chronomat.....

So you are saying it is OK to shove a rep under the nose of an employee in an AD because they are going to be too stupid to notice? - Very dangerous! For every 3 or 4 "uneducated" sales people, there is going to be 1 who knows his/her stuff. Showing a rep in an AD - it's not big and it's not clever !!

  5. Well, I have seen coins struck from steel from the world trade center. James Cameron states that the titanic is being eaten by micro-organisms and in the not too distant future, disappear completely. If you want to honor or remember the dead, why not make sure at least a piece of that great ship lives forever. I would buy one in a second if there was a rep of this. I've always loved a watch with a story.

I have to disagree - it's bad enough buying a watch made from the remains of what is essentially a mass grave but to then hanker after a rep is totally ghoulsih !

  6. I'm sure this site has been talked about before but I had to laugh when I read the fifth paragraph ! :

"Isolated - Certainly there are no clubs for owners of fakes. No comraderie among fellow owners. No sharing of tips, tricks and performance issues. No assistance with operation, warranty or repair issues. Fake buyers are on their own with nobody to care, nobody to help and nobody to compliment or encourage them--except for the occasional person you might encounter that doesn't know enough about watches to realize you are trying to 'impress' them with a cheap counterfeit."

    I was almost in tears !! :wounded1:

  7. Sorry to hear that, that's a real shame. Have you taken any photos of it? Are you planning on ordering parts to correct the defects?

I will post some pics as soon as I can. I'm that disappointed with it, I was tempted to sell it straight on. It really needs a new dial, new hands and a new clasp - I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle and the expense, especially as I've just had to have repairs done to my 007 (2006 Special Edition) and my Orange UPO (which stopped after 3 weeks !) :wounded1:

  8. I have amassed quite a collection of Seamaster's including 42mm and 45mm POs, 007 Special edition SMPs and the ubiquitous SMP Chrono. I have only just got round to ordering a standard SMP and chose Jay & Angel as the dealer. It is by far the worst of all the Omega reps I own - the hands are too short, the waves on the dial are virtually non-existant and the markings on the clasp are skewed at a angle !! This was supposed to be the jewel in my collection; what a let down after everything I had read about the SMP being one of the best reps out there !

  9. Luckily i wasn't the one who originally stated it... Jeremy Clarkson did. Sure there are more powerful engines out there, race and street alike, however not many small (very small) naturally aspirated engines can produce 420 HP with full California emissions, have a 8000 rpm redline, a throttle response normally saved for F1 cars, manage 20 miles a gallon on the highway. Oh yeah and the engine is about 3 times lighter than anything that slightly resembles it thanks to an array of carbon bits.

    :yawn: :yawn: :drive1::yawn: :yawn: :yawn:

  10. It's great that you're looking out for the forum...but in that case, the first thing to do is to support it financially.

After that, you get to break, ignore or invent all the rules you want! :bicycle:

Like the ad used to say, 'Membership has its privileges....' :thumbsupsmileyanim:

You is part of da family!

You even gets a nice blue bucket! :1a:

Point taken..... I paid my one off membership fee and 've been meaning to go the whole hog - guess I'd better do it so I don't get any more tellings off !! :(

  11. It comes down to how you want to send your money... sure i could buy tons of Gens, but i find that i would rather spend my money elsewhere. Cars are where i spend my money. I could buy a few great Gen watches but i love my new RS4 way better. Plus my collection is 5 or 6 times larger because i buy reps. I have never been asked if a watch is fake... and to tell you the truth, anyone who can even pronounce or recognize the brand of my watches buys gens, so naturally they would never suspect a watch of that quality to be a rep. Just my 2 cents though.

On the other side of the coin, there are some of us who could not warrant spending, or even afford to spend, $3000 - $4000 on a gen. Buying reps is the only way to come close to owning the genuine article. I personally would not then go and risk being made to look a bit of "cheapskate" or "skinflint" by being called out by some "spotty oik" in an AD who is in no better position to afford a gen than yourself.

  12. I have the Ultimate PO in both Black and Orange as well as a SMP...the PO's definitely win out on wrist time...Black over Orange. Is a very versitle watch as pointed out above.

The SMP is nice too...I wouldn't part with it ever...but just doesn't get worn as often.

I, too, have a couple of POs (black and orange) and an SMP and I totally agree with Steve G - the black PO hogs the wrist time !! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  13. I recently took my "dead" PO into my local watchsmith (who has resized the bracelets on a few of my reps). I asked him if he would look at a replica Omega and he said he would. He took the caseback off and commented that it had a "nice movement" (it's an ETA 2836) and was generally very complimentary about the overall quality of the watch. Then he blew it and said "Shame it's a FAKE" !!! (It was a bit "tongue in cheek" and he has agreed to get it working for me).
