  1. So that's how you enforce the forum rules without being a VIP member - you just slip your scolding in the middle of a thread !! :whistling:

Psst !! - anyone want to buy an old pot calling the kettle black ??) :whistling:

Ouch !! So how do YOU enforce them; being a VIP member? - turn a blind eye? Or is it a case of one rule for one.......etc.... :bangin:

  2. I have a vintage Accutron I no longer wear; it only needs a battery. Is there possibly a buyer out there?

;) So that's how you sell watches without being a VIP member - you just slip your ad in the middle of a thread !! :whistling:

Pssst !! - anyone want to buy an SMP ?? ;):whistling:

  3. I buried my whole collection in various parts of the garden (as an experiment to see if the results varied in different soil etc..), now I can't find them !!!!

Ok, I might as well state it here. If you take your watch (whether Panerai, Omega, Rolex, Breitling, etc.) and place it in a ziplock bag (make sure you take the leather band off if it has one to secure results) and place it in dry or slightly moist soil, maybe a plant pot or your garden, for a total of 5 hours (keep it out of direct sunlight), the watch will start to re-generate itself, allowing it to be more than 3 second correct per day according to official time. You don't even have to open the case, just make sure its in a little bag (preferably zip lock as it allows the air to be kept outside easier and more efficiently.)

I just did it with my PO Ultimate and its perfect now! It will remain this way, though its advised to do it once a week.

Here's mine: I put the flower pot over it to remember where I buried the watch:

Stop paying others to fix your watches. Simple instructions and it really pays off, just 5 hours of your time.

  4. As a relatively new newb myself, I know how the "thrill of the chase" can be frustrated by having to wait for replies to emails and for your new purchase to arrive. You very soon learn that patience is a virtue that you have to master and bombarding a seller with emails is a good way of getting him to ignore you (for a while). Have patience , my friend, and your new Bell & Ross will be on your wrist before you know it. I have had many dealings with Paul and he seems pretty trustworthy as I have had nothing to complain about so far. :D

  5. I truly sympathise, nothing is more disappointing than ordering something and it not being what you wanted it to be. Even if you can't intercept the postman, I'm sure Josh will allow you to simply return the watch unworn (because obviously you wouldn't wear it without the 3 marker) so all you have to do, is insist on a refund. As I said yesterday, the option does exist of this watch:

    http://www.cqout.com/item.asp?id=2493536

which may or may not have a flat dial, but, with the refunded money, you could order that watch and source a gen dial from ofrei.com if the dial on the watch is flat. It definitely has the 3 marker on the dial, so there should be no issue of the date window lining up. You never know, for all we can tell, the dial might be perfect, but the pictures make it impossible to tell. As I said before, if I had the spare money, I would have already ordered one of the watches as the price is good enough to make it worth the risk, but other commitments mean I can't do that for a while, and that bugs me.

On the subject of the New SMP and the hopes for one with the red lettering, from the pictures posted of it, I do not like how the letters in Omega are joined. It makes the watch (despite being genuined) look fake. (and I do mean fake, rather than replica, as replicas are at least of decent logo printing) so even if it was manufactured, I would not buy it, as even if the details were accurately replicated, it would 'look' like a 'fake', and probably get called out in the same way that people assume that anything with Rolex on the dial is fake, regardless of if it is genuine or not

I've just received an SMP from Jay & Angel - their model still has the 3 O'Clock marker (and it's cheaper than Josh/Andrew's !!). :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  6. You really don't notice the screws. The screws are only attaching the case to the bracelet, and then further around where the adjustment links can be removed, and these ones you hardly see.

I have an SMP Chrono and a 2006 007 Special Edition. Both have screws instead of pins and on both, I've had pins unscrew themselves (while I've been wearing them), luckily I've spotted them before they fell out completely! Has anyone else had this problem and is there any way of preventing it? :g:
