Aww... sorry I hurt your feelings Mikey boy. Here, let me change it. Also, i never stated my position here. Truth be told, I don't know where I stand.
1. I'm not going to address this to the gun people because, well, it's a waste of time and effort. You guys just sit back and relax, don't worry, no one's coming to take your guns, and if they do, well, you know what to do.
2. For those in the middle, the gun people are getting played, like, hard. Hook, line, and sinker. I hope you can see that from all the drivel in this thread. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.
3. For gun control advocates: nice effort, but things like this aren't, or rather can't be addressed on an individual, "let's talk this through" level, certainly not on a thread like this. People here may be rational and reasonable otherwise, but on this? They're not going to be acting rationally.
Think about it this way: try and talk someone into giving up their penis in the name of public safety. Yeah. Exactly. See the above posts.

2. For the rest of you who are more open-minded, the gun people are getting played, like, hard. Hook, line, and sinker. I hope you can see that from all the drivel in this thread. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

That question was for gun control advocates.

This popcorn is delicious.
Mine's been pretty stale but I've been trying to spice it up. How about this:
IMHO, gun control advocates often fail to consider the idea that pro-gun people tend to love their guns about as much as they love their...um...guns. (suddenly Charlton Heston's famous speech takes on a whole new dimension)
So what is it you could say? What is your approach? Not joking. Figure that one out.

Well, you see, the beauty of being in a free society is that we can discuss things. I think asking me to leave is a bit counter to that.
Like I said, I'll stick around and see if you (or for that matter, anyone else) serves up something better than reheated leftovers.

Lol. And 3...2...1...

Silencing those you disagree with inhibits your ability to teach & others' ability to learn. There are many who feel it is wrong to talk about rep watches. If they had their way, this forum would not exist. I hope that all will consider this before demanding locks or free-speech prohibitions.
Guns, like watches or airplanes or electrical appliances, are tools. In the hand of a good person, they are used to do good. But in the hand of a bad person, they can be used to do bad things. Guns cannot load, charge, aim & fire themselves. They are inanimate objects, completely devoid of will or emotion. As a very wise wag once said - The gun is a tool, your finger is the weapon.
Stepping down from soapbox.
Kidding aside, I was wondering when you'd come out with the free speech angle. The point is not that you should stop talking about it. The point is that this whole exercise is tiresome. We've all already heard what you've said, we already know what you're going to say, and you already know what you will be arguing against.
It's been done before. In fact, how about I give you that link:
http://rwg.cc/topic/154710-australians-have-a-warning-for-americans?page=24
People will be going back and forth, no one will be changing their minds. On and off soapboxes. It's kabuki. You know that. We all know that. So let me make my point really clear: Been there, done that. Come up with something more interesting to say.

Sigh. So here's how the rest of this thread is going to go:
1. Someone takes the bait and responds with the opposing view.
2. OP and others double down on their stance.
3. Back and forth gets harsher (to put it mildly)
4. Someone says "Hey, let's talk about watches guys hahaha."
5. MOAB locks thread.
Can we just skip to the end, please?

Too pricey...I'm trying to hunt down a Whoopy (he said he was out) so if anyone has one, please let me know!

I'm looking for an affordable, reasonably accurate 5513/5512 dial with ETA feet for my MBW. Right now I have an HR dial.
Pros: it's cheap, fairly accurate, comes lumed
Cons: You can see the hour wheel (see image below)
Does anyone know how I can solve this? If not, any suggestions for another dial?
-
If anyone of y'all plans to switch out your dial to something else, let me know. I'll take it off your hands. I also have a Yuki 5513 meters first dial that was superlumed by PbDad if anyone is interested.
-
Or you could just sell it to me. Seriously though I'm looking for one of these.

Ha, all good points Joey.

Definitely makes sense. Had the same experience as above, comparing Clark's to a service dome.
-
Got a Clark's "vintage style" T19 for my MBW 5513 (old school). Pressing on the retaining ring,it just went Crack! Didn't want to sand anything since my service t19 works great with it. Anyone else had this problem?

So how does one order from Star time? Says that they don't deal with direct sales or hobbyists...
On that note, anyone got any ST bars for sale?
-
What does the weaker internal spring do to the structural soundness of the springbar? Asking legitimately - not being sarcastic...
You get this after you take them off once...
-
I'm talking vintage see them through the lughole type, 20mmx2mm for vintage models. Based on my experience:
WSO - Rounded edges, good length, weak internal spring
Clarks - Flat edges, good length, surprisingly weak spring
Cousins UK - Flat edges, a tad shorter than the above, good spring
Anyone else?

No plus or minus sign, it's a little confusing! Any help greatly appreciated!

I'm going to attempt replacing the crystal on mine. I've done the hockey pock thing but I'd like to make a bit less slapdash.
Would something like this be ok?

Also try "Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish"
In my experience it has worked much better than Brasso and toothpaste.

The HR case is also 39mm in diameter, therefore too big.

Yep. That's why I changed it.
Oh, the irony. Delicious.
