  1. Thank you gentlemen. I have heard these before, and actually did send out my DW 6263 for a service.

I tried Rex over at Repgeek and had a HORRIBLE experience. It came back with a busted chrono, he pretty much gave up on it. Still had to pay (long story).

    So who can do it?

  2. Is this possible? I vaguely remember a member doing it...but I can't swear by it.

Of course, one would have to port the mechanism that transfers the minute counter from 12 to 3.

If it is possible, who can do it? Isn't the legendary Zig retired?

    Thanks for the help guys!

  3. Our biggest problem is not our government, it's the character of a population that sees nothing wrong with demanding a lifestyle at someone else's expense. The government is simply responding to those demands.

Ironically, Warren Buffett would say the exact same thing. But would mean the exact opposite of what I think you're saying.

  4. How can we expect our children to owe that kind of money, when it went to this generation? Talk about getting a lousy deal! My kids together are $274,000 in debt with nothing to show for it.

I'm fairly sure China isn't going to ask for that money back. Your children have little to worry about. The US can get away with it. Countries like Greece, not so much.

Case A: Nixon ending the gold standard.

  5. I love you guys so I won't address the political economic arguments made here. Arguing online makes no winners. I would love to go over this over some beers though. Texas GTG maybe?

Anyway, I will throw in my two cents for our those who will be reading this thread (from all over the world). As an American, I can say that at the very least, my faith in America has not been diminished.

I realize that feelings are still raw, but I hope that eventually, no matter who you voted for, we can get past the fear, and the anger, and work things out together.

  6. Oh, forgot to ask, what's the story with DW case lug holes? Are they correct as per gen? I don't recall anybody saying about re-drilling as per MBW vintage subs and SD's but I'd like to know for peace of mind.

Yes, they're correct afaik. Gen spec bars worked fine on mine.

  7. Also, I got an interesting PM comment on the fact that my watches look "too new". It is interesting to see most people want to believe "old" has to be damaged..... What ever is the age of your Rolex, when you bring it to the service center, they will return it to you looking brand new ! Are old cars all wrecked? Are 18 century furnitures, clocks and other Art pieces in ruins? Anything well maintened will remian in great shape. That's my philosphy.... :chinese: To me, a too desirable and too expensive watch or artifact owned/worned by a very proud owner -who obviously knows the value of his posession- in a like "never cared" condition is suspicious. You care for it, you want it to be perfect just like when it came out of the factory !!! I think quite often the whole vintagizing thing is just a way to hide the defects, the loose shape of the case, the poor dial and hands, etc... When if the watch is clean, the smallest flaw becomes obvious.

    +1

    Nice watch, btw.

  8. So as y'all can see from the pic, I have a situation where I have a 6263 dial in a 6241 case (long story). Luckily, I was able to obtain the right case (6263 for an a7750 movement) thanks to the generosity of a forum member.

Now it just has to be put together.

One caveat: there is an old tube stuck in the 6263 case, so it has to be removed before the new one can be installed.

Who can I send it to? Any modder recommendations in the CONUS? Thanks!
