  1. Agreed. Clark's parts have always been referenced as Clark since I've been on the forums, and I first started reading in summer of 2008. I've never once seen him referred to anything other than his name.

Michael Young is always MY or CWP even on the gen boards. He's rep friendly but serves the gen community. I don't find it confusing at all. He runs two businesses. Classic Watch Repair is his service and repair business, and Classic Watch Parts is his parts business. Pretty easy to tell the difference, in my opinion.

  2. Wow

So sorry to hear you had a bad experience here.

What kind of assclown sets someone else's hands ablaze without asking them first?

No kidding. Hmm, let's see. How can we age this dive watch, that spent years in the water, to make it look realistic? I know. Let's start it on fire. But not the whole watch. Just the inside parts. That will look great, because as we all know, watch parts are so flammable.
  3. Since this will be a daily wear piece, that hand wind in the 6694 might get a little tiresome. Maybe not, though. I really like the 6694, personally. Been looking at them myself.

An argument for the Air King is it is auto and not having a date you never have to worry about setting the date. Just wear and go.

Good choices, either way. Post pics of whichever you decide on!

  4. Either one is just great for different reasons when it comes to gen crystals. I personally prefer the look of the T19 service dome, but a gen 127 has a really nice profile to it, as well.

I don't know if the 1680 whites had this as a standard option at the AD, but with the reds you were able to choose which crystal you wanted when you picked it up at the AD.  You had your choice of either the T19 or the standard top hat with cyclops.  Both are correct and look snazzy in their own way.

FWIW, I hate the rep top hat on my 1680 and plan to swap in the T19.

  5. This looks really great!

One thing I notice, and this is only because it is driving me nuts with my own watch at the moment, is your springbar on the 12 o'clock side appears to be either incorrectly seated in the lugs, or the dimensions of the pins are off and are a bit short.  Which bars are you using?  I have a set of gen spec Yuki bars and the internal springs literally snapped while I was trying to fit my WSO 580 end links.  On one of the bars you can slide one pin forward and it will push the other one out - they behave like they are connected to each other now.  LOL

I am sure most people don't even notice that and I wouldn't either, but because I'm fighting with my endlinks and a broken bar, I just noticed it.  :)

  6. I just liked above, see cavi.

He he, I just liked yours!   :)  Seriously, though, is that weird that I get different results whether I'm on a computer vs Tapatalk?

Cool.  I'll check out the profile. I like letting people know when they have good things to say.  :)

  7. I just clicked "like" on your post to show you what it looks like.

What do you, the "liker" get out of it? Nothing, other than the satisfaction of knowing that you just let the other person know that you appreciated their post.

What does the "likee" get out of it? They get personal satisfaction knowing that other people like what they contributed.

I dunno. I "like" being able to do it.

  8. Maybe this should be in the off topic area, but I am having trouble giving people a positive "thumbs up" or "like" for their posts when I am on my computer.  When I am on my computer I am limited to 3 per day.  That seems really odd, considering all I want to do is give a thumbs up for a great post or gorgeous pic.

When I am on Tapatalk, however, the sky is the limit.  I can "click away" and go hog wild with the thumbs ups and likes, like a sailor on shore leave in Amsterdam.

Is there a setting I need to adjust?

  9. Does anyone have a pic of the washer just so I am on the same page?  I have the same thing happening with my Puretime 1680.  It just spins freely. On hot and humid days it is nice and tight, but inside it is definitely too loose.  Would a WSO or gen assembly fix that?  Is it even necessary to replace these parts if bending the washer fixes it?

  10. Yeah, the challenge was not designed to be worn on a wrist. They designed it to be strapped onto the side of James Cameron's sub when he did the dive. They only made a handful of them, too. It is on a bracelet but there's no way you could actually wear it.

James Cameron brought one of the existing pieces on Jimmy Fallon last year and they were joking about how it is literally like putting a brick on your wrist. He said they never intended it to be worn and that's why it isn't being made other than the pieces that have already been completed.
