  1. OK Here are the pics.

The green on the dial and hands looks to be slightly metallic, so in daylight the dark green brightens up to a more lime green colour, like this :

The green stitching on the strap and the clasp are very nice:

There's a little bit of stand off between the crown and the side of the case on my copy:

    Clear caseback is nice

  2. Guys

My Green Magic arrived today and It has had a couple of hours of wrist time. I'm not sure why but my initial reaction is of slight disappointment. Don't get me wrong, it certainly is an extremely credible looking rep, but there's a few things I find annoying.

    1. The lume on my copy is pretty much nonexistent. The green colour is quite dark, compared to the 'lime' green of the gen, but it catches light really well.

    2. It does not have a screw in crown, like most of my other reps. I don't know if there is an O ring on the stem but it still makes me a little nervous about water resistance.

    3. The ceramic finish is lovely, but the watch does not feel as light on the wrist as I had hoped with the ceramic caseset and leather/gummy strap.

    To counterbalance this

The caseset detailing is just stunning, from the knurled bezel to the sandwich construction to the engraving on the crown and textured pushers.

AR is good with a slight purplish hue, and this helps with the dark green detailing on the dials and hands.

    Strap is really comfy

I wanted a 'stealth' look and there is now doubt it looks stealthy!

I have a big meeting in London tomorrow so no pics tonight, but will post some tomorrow.

  3. Have you seen what's embedded into the fuel tank? A Gen BR01 ...

Of course the first time you pull up at Harry Ramsdens for some Fish and Chips some blighter is going to swipe the watch for sure!

Also very cool is the belt drive (no metal chain to forget to oil). I never saw that on a Harley before.

  4. @Picoweb : I'm glad your QC experience has been a positive one. This is the benefit of buying from a trusted dealer. Before I found RWG I tried ordering a few reps and homages from various sites, and generally my experience was very unsatisfactory - wrong colour watch, and even a completely different model one occasion.

I hope your watch will fulfill your expectations when it arrives...

    Best wishes

  5. At the risk of being called Fanboy ...

I think building a good reputation with your dealer IS helpful. I've had polite comms with my TD for several transactions, and when the movement on my ExpII packed in I sent it back and he fixed it and shipped it back EMS free of charge. Now he may have done that anyway but I am sure that the polite comms (and the colour of my money) helped.

Clearly experiences of receiving a different watch from that in the QC pics should be shared with the community, but I think this sort of thing is likely the exception rather than the rule. I've had just one issue with a QC image set and it was dealt with promptly.

I suspect the TDs get quite a lot of email traffic as it is. Large volumes of queries relating to individual watch sales is going to slow things down so speeding up the QC process has to be in everyone's benefit.

  6. Again I think I know who this is, but will respect privacy. I have chosen not to publish QC pics for my watches, but I do post images and initial impressions once they arrive.

You should take QC pics at face value. They allow you to see that you are being sent the right watch & strap combo, and demonstrate that there are no gross visible defects in the item. If you see an order number on the watch that matches yours, and an EMS bill with your posting details, then all is good. When I ordered my LV somehow the address got mixed up with another order, and the QC pics let me put that straight.

The forum gives you a lot of information on what to look out for on each watch. For example pearl placement on a PO can be a little off. Some of these thiings you can spot on your QC pics.

Ultimately you won't know about fit, finish, and function until the watch arrives.

For me the whole experience - the waiting and anticipation is part of the fun

  7. Folks,

Came into a little tax refund so I now have money for the Green Magic. I placed my order with Joshua just now. Will post a review when I get it.

Josh said the Green Magic is 'outrageously good'. I was a little tempted by the Ice Bang II with titanium bezel and C1 Super Luminova, but I prefer the 'stealth' looks of the Green Magic.

  8. Folks,

I was looking through Josh's site and came across this Green magic all ceramic watch:

I've never had a ceramic rep before, and my only experience of ceramic is with my Gen Rado.

Anyone got or seen this watch. Would be interested to hear your views on it. It certainly looks like an impressive replication.
