  1. I don't see what's so strange here ? It says movement is 8215 - meaning Myota - not high end movement, but definitely great, reliable, "workhorse" movement. I have seen Citizen divers with this movement running 10+ years without even being opened, let alone serviced, being used and abused daily, and still running inside 10 secs-a-day. So, if you look markups in rest of watch industry this is not so high price. I've seen huge fugly 7750-based Invicta, with design elements taken from Zenith Defy Extreme (equally ugly in my book) in one local shop going for almost 4000 Euros - and people were buying...

  2. So if I had a rep tricompax, best I could hope for is to swap in a new A7753 to fix the sunken datewheel issue, right? A Lello datewheel that fits an A7750 should also work in an A7753, right?

Yes and no - problem with replacing A7750 with A7753 is thatA7753 is thinner then 7750, so you would have problems with crown alignment, basically case must be made to accept 7753.

I believe there is an issue with the A7753 as the date wheel is not exactly in line with the ETA version so it probably wouldn't work. There was a big write up about it when the A7753 came out for the chrono PAM's.

Not exactly true ... this is picture of A7753 movement with 7750 date wheel and A7750 dial:

Another problem for tri-compax Navi is lack of date quick-set, and design of date driving wheel on A7753, that is not identical to ETA 7753 version, preventing setting of date by going back and forth from 10PM to 2AM, moving dates forward in such way.

    regards
