  1. Nice watches Green.

I'm not too familiar with APs but they look great.

I will look into them someday, maybe after I've collected all the PAMs I am interested in.

The DSSD I was looking at was the v6 from PTW http://www.puretimewatch.com/product/sea-dweller-deepsea-116600-v6-a2836/

Not as nice as the one you've got but also cheaper too :)

I'm surprised that you wear the 312 the most, well I guess not now since you've gotten the AP.

Leaning toward the 328 more now.

    I might order it tonight

  2. I guess there are some legit concerns about the A7750's......... however, I have the 312L and the 288K and they both run like champs so far with no issues what so ever. Got them both from Angus at PureTime Watch. Been running strong with a decent power reserve for close to 10 months so far with zero problems. I do have my watches on a winder when not being used, so I would like to think that helps some with keeping the watches in smooth running order.

I also follow all the usual recommendations for safely operating the 7750's.

    OK, that's good to know.

I have a PAM253 with the 7750 but it's only a week old so I have no idea of the longevity of it but I do hope that I can use it for a long time.

I noticed that you have a DSSD, That is another watch I am considering at the moment. Which do you like better the 312 or DSSD ?

I know they are not even closely similar but wanted to get your thoughts on the build quality and overall experience.

  3. Pete, thanks for the clarification. I understand what you mean.

I will try the deployment buckle with a few straps coming in the next few weeks and hope that I can get a more comfortable fit.

I use deployment buckles on my Cartier watches and they are comfortable.

They are also smaller in size and have more rounded surfaces.

  4. Depends on watch... for me anyway....

The good thing about a deployant is it maintains your strap in a good condition.... however if you are finding one uncomfortable then the more likely cause, whether big or small wrist is the sizing of the strap...

When I say that I am not referring to the way you wear it... but the length of the strap overall especially on the buckle side of the strap... having had a few straps made and experimenting with size/length you would be surprised what a difference the length of the buckle side can make on the way the deployant sits against your wrist... even 5mm!!

How do you get a 5mm strap to attach to the buckle?

Seems like it's a really tight fit actually an impossible fit.

Maybe I am doing something wrong.

  5. I tried the deployment buckle on my recently acquired 253 and it feels awful.

Seems like it's way too big and the sharp edges tend to dig into my skin.

I'm sure for some it's not a big deal but on a small 6.75" wrist it feels too big.

Also, the part that attaches to the long strap does not open and is hard to insert the strap.

I'm going back to a tang buckle it seems.

  6. Both are Asian ETA 7750, only the plates are different. But the gen has not ETA inside, I hope you know that!

Yes I am aware that the Gen has a Panerai in House movement.

    I have another question.

I was watching this video on YouTube

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yx0OkZJJY0I&feature=channel_video_title

at the 1:40 sec mark, the handler adjusts the time and you will notice the second hand stops.

After he closes the CG, the second hand still does not move.

I am assuming the watch stopped or has been broken.

Is this a sign of a faulty unreliable movement?

Maybe I should consider a different model and wait for the next version of this watch.

  7. I am looking to purchase this watch from either of these two sellers but I just noticed that the photo of the movement looks different.

    http://www.yourtrust...roducts_id=7598

    http://puretimewatch...est-edition-v2/

On the description, they both have "Asian 7750" but looking at the photos you can see the section under the rotor looks different.

Please let me know which is better and are they both the Asian 7750 movement?

    Thanks.
