  1. Hey Bought another PAM last night through an associate of a trusted dealer. After being so impressed with my others. I requested a 111m made by HBB 'ultimate edition'. Cost me best part of $200. Got today as seller in same country and I set up a courier (he he. Couldn't wait) But on arrival and first viewing the watch I was slightly worried as the rubber strap was made out some kind of latex feeling tacky stuff which instantly started picking up dust and fibers. It was listed as having OEM rubber strap which I hoped would be the harder rubber you get on decent reps that hss some dust repelling properties. Anyway. It's supposed to be an Asian platinum plated 6497 with a dagger swan neck regulator. Genuine superLuminova lumed hands and dial. (I have checked and only the hands are lumed) Being a Noob to PAM's i am not familiar with the movement. But I know the lume is wrong and strap is poor so I am asking for opinions on whether this is an ultimate edition or if not what is it? I need to know before I can confront the seller as I don't want to look like a [censored] if this is the right wstch. Sorry, this has turned into a bit of a book. Pics below. It's not gold that's just the crap lighting. Any feedback welcome.
  2. No problem. I'll get those pics up as soon as i can leave work early enough to have some daylight left. Been shooting another Pam this evening and the pics are so bad with indoor light.
  3. + 1 for the grey dial. Generally it looks more natural IMO. The black face seems to contrast more and make the Steel look ever so slightly too silvery. I was looking at a gen breitling yellow-face on Sunday and the SS seemed surprisingly matt. V nice watches though.
  4. Hi mate No, these are both new. The dud is not in the pics, it's in the bottom of my man-drawer somewhere. Amongst the dusty screwdrivers and old rolex bracelet links etc. Lol I have no clue about the model numbers TBH. These were bought on visual merit alone. So well made. The only thing I have as solid is a rols DSSD.
  5. Hi guys I have just taken delivery of my second ever Pam rep purchase. Bought one earlier in year and it turned out a dud. Strap broke on first day. Lume was terrible Etc. So I have kind of stayed clear, although I love the brand. Glad I plucked up the courage to try again as I have just taken delivery of some absolute beauties. Now I'm fired up again and already placing me next order. I see why they are such a popular rep buy now. I'll get some more pics taken soon and post. Andy
  6. Hi guys Just looking for some views on the subject seeing as u can now pick up the older version 'Noob factory' a2836 reps for as low as +$20 to +$50 more than the latest 'basic' 21 jewel or quartz versions. (price being $128 for previous version 2836 Noobmariner from smaller trusted dealers as apposed to approx $110 for latest version 21j GMT from larger website based trader) The advantages of the newer model being that small updates to rep closeness to gen may be apparent whilst also the later, thicker quality extension bracelet. Wheras the advantages of the a2836 is obviously the 28.8k bhp sweep. Disadvantage being the 'tin can' feel to the older bracelet. I have seen lots of threads where people say their opinion is that the 21,600 bhp of the Asain 21j is barely a noticeable difference to the sweep of the 28,800bph of the 2836 which would obviously conclude that the 21j is a better buy. However, having recently bought an older version 2836 Noobmariner and a latest version 21j milgauss, I find the sweep of the 2836 is far, far superior in terms of closeness to genuine. even at full arms length the 21j ticks is way round the dial in a questionable fashion while the 2836 is good enough to fool anyone but an expert. As far as everything else goes the 21j is heavier, feels more solid and is ever so slightly richer in colour all round. This is something I have been pondering on for some months as I come around to the time of expanding my rep Rolex collection (and being too tight to spend more than $150 on each item) and I really can't decide which way to go. I have a couple of omega reps and they are not such an issue as I have a gen quartz omega and my peers just presume all my omegas are real. But with the industry drilling this 'the way to spot a fake Rolex is to look at the sweep' into everyones heads. So much so that a work colleague who knows nothing about watches called me out as wearing counterfit goods (although in a jovial manner it was in front of about 10 people), it seems that a much higher quality of Rolex rep is required to not rouse suspicion amongst the general populous. Hmm. Sorry for the lengthy post. I'd be interested to hear other peoples thoughts about these points.
  7. I found the forum by searching google and discovering the archives. I have been a member on RG for a while but after the way they have been treating some of their new members lately has really put me off.
