  1. Hi Guys,

    Just finished installing some OEM hands on my PAM27A, must say I am thrilled with the upgrade. The hands have an absolute perfect finish, a really lovely sight when the sun light hits then from an angle.

    Put on my favorite strap of the moment, the Kaktus drifter with custom black stitch.

    Enjoy,

    Regards.

  2. Some of the dials look a bit crappy yet others look to be quite well made, not an expert on fonts etc, but this PAM002A dial at least has recessed numerals and indexes like the genuine dial.

    Personally I think this PAM002 dial has some potential, maybe stain the dial to cream up the fonts, have the dial sent for a aged tritium relume and we might have something half decent.

    Here is there website: http://www.jewelryandwatch.com/index1.html

  3. Same here, owned a highly modded PAM 118 for 2 1/2 years and loved it very dearly, but after a while I could not live with the flaws and lower overall quality compared to the gen. Sold my rep 118 and bought a genuine PAM 116 just recently. Since then I never looked back as I love my gen 10 times more then the rep. The dial, movement, crown guard and so on are just so much nicer then the rep version.

    I still enjoy my four reps, althogh since I got my 116 they are getting almost no wrist time.

  4. How about your own prices Ajoe?

    - PAM27 original price 650$ + a few parts and mods worth ~400$(extra dial and hands + a relume) -> Your initial asking price ~1400$

    - Pam 29 original price ~600$ + a few parts worth ~200$ (gen crown + cyclops) -> Your initial asking price 1200$

    - Pam 63 original price ~ 600$ + a few parts worth ~200$ (gen crown + cyclops) -> Your initial asking price 1200$

    Seems to be very hypocritical of you flaming the dealers for asking high prices for there pieces, while you are taking advantage of these piece being rare and selling them at astronomical prices.

  5. I think it's a catch 22 situation. On the one hand we all want 'superreps' that are cosmetically 99,99% accurate. On the other hand we don't wanna spend more money, which is needed to invest in a gen to make the rep 99,99% accurate... And in the case of the new AP the factory even had to invest in developing a 7750 secs @12 movement.

    It's simple economics.... Do we really wanna go back to reps with standard movements copied from pictures??

    It is not like the genuinhe they used for replication afterwards can be tossed in th trash? After replication they reassemble the genuine piece and sell it. The investment is not that high, maybe the time and effort it takes to source the genuine.

  6. Man you have allot of projects going on PAM28, PAM29 and now this. Lovely watch btw, also like the strap combo very much. Good luck with the projects.

    A note on your parts selection: A V CG would be wrong for this model. You need an contemporary CG (often rerefed to as an E-series CG), not a Historic CG (oftern refered to as an H-Series CG). V VG's are good for the historic handwind models, H series and above or the Pre Vendome models. Unlike the Comtemporary CG's, historic CG's have a differen profile. They tapper from thick (outer side) to thinner (case side).

  7. Looks like cheap crap to me, Panera. Judging from the pics alone, the fit and finish appears to be WELL below any genuine RXW watches. Below Davidsen's standards, too, for that matter.

    It looks like a $250 Asian powered rep to me.

    Agreed except to me it looks like 50$ rep, the quality and finish look awful.

  8. Hi,

    I am going to visit Zurich for a few day's. If anyone here has some recommendation's of special sites to see or some interesting things to do while in Zurich, please share.

    BTW How hot is the watch seen in Zurich, any watch store recommendations?

    Thx,

    ^_^
