  1. I ordered two Skylands, one Slate, one Blue dial.

When the package arrived I mistakenly thought I had been sent two Slate dial watches.

It wasn't until I moved to a well lit are that I realised that one of them was indeed Blue. And what a beautiful

Blue it is. It isn't a vibrant blue like the Fish. It's much more Slate like in colour. Completely different from the Fish.

So what am I saying: The Skyland is well built, similar in size, and great value.

So buy a Skyland in Blue, wear it for a while and time will help you decide.

I'm sure it would sell easily if you change your mind.

  2. Thanks for another great review By-Tor, I've been waiting for this one.

By the way it was one of your Navitimer reviews that got me involved in the rep world.

I think the only solution here is to have both.

I have always loved the superceded model and was disappointed when the Ceramic was released.

Sort of like when a new model of a car is released and you think, no, like the old one better.

But after a few years you can see that the change had to happen.

It did take a trip to the AD for me to come to this conclusion though.

The feel of the Ceramic is what one would expect of a luxury item: smooth, creamy , and expensive in a way

    the previous model doesn't provide.

    Just gotta have both!!

  3. I see your point about the thickness of the straps compared to the bulk of the Watch. But there is a good reason why you have never seen a SC strap on a Breitling.

Problem is, what is true for a PAM, doesn't always hold true for a Breitling.

Even gen PAM owners will sometimes use non gen straps but very rarely do you see a Breitling sporting anything other than a Breitling strap.

I plan on purchasing a gen Breitling strap for my grey dial Skyland. :)

  4. I'm reaally confused...which one is the best...the CHS or ICHS one??

Freddy333's pole suggests that both run at about a 50% failure rate. However, anecdotal evidence

suggests the IHS might be a little better.

Ziggy has done an in depth review and the result isn't favourable.

Do a search and make up your own mind.

    Hope that helps?

  5. who the hell is going to count teeth on the crowns???? T dont worry about this! I think more important is that they fit rep cases and have appropriate thickness. Forget about teeth! This is still the best crown in town. lol.

Yeh, I tend to agree with that statement.

These Crowns are not 1:1 with the gen so they fit a case that isn't 1:1.

Question is: will the extra 12 teeth make a noticable difference to the appearance, will it be a standout tell?

    750, man that's a bummer.

  6. You have to remember it is a REPLICA, if you want it to be flawless unfortunately you have to pay a premium for that, and get it from an AD.

    Fair comment.

But if they can make the Skyland, SA, SOSF, and others so good then why not the Navi?

Probably because the only way to fix the recessed Date wheel on a Tricompax is to use a 7753.

It simply wouldn't be a volume seller and the factories work on volume.

  7. That Denim strap looks cool.

On the order front I have two Skylands(Blue dial & grey dial), a SOSF, a PAM111H to be modded with V's C/G and a t Crown, Ziggy Lume etc. An 088, oh what else? oh yes and a GMT11 I'm about to order.

I'm also expecting a PAM090 and a 212 back from the Master following some work so there is plenty of anticipation and travelling to the Post Office.
