  1. But what if my rider tab was gold?
  2. Being a fan of mechanical watches myself because of their inherent qualities of craftsmanship and ingenuity brings the allure of it. Their creativity produce such masterpieces that each one is slightly different than the other even though they may be of the same model. That in itself is the "soul" of its mechanics. But nothing like that exists in quartz and/or digital watches. They are like dead units solely dependent on IC chips and electric current destined to follow the algorithm of its designer. That tends to be boring because of its constancy. Of course, they're more accurate, less inconsistencies, and highly reliable. But where's the excitement of it?? So the same lies with our CD's, MP3's, DVD's as the new trend of media conveniences "improves". Yes it's more convenient and faster: you got the remote and bam! you're there. Music is clear as glass with less or no cleaning required at all. Audio dynamic range is superb than ever! What more can you ask? But again, where's the excitement? It's soul-less. I prefer and still play my records (LPs) everytime I play music at home. To clean my records before playing them makes me feel that I'm entitled to hear them. The cleaning labor involved on each record makes it a privilege for me to hear music I mostly deserve. The mechanical turntable playing my precious vinyl is just like a fine swiss watch that tracks the grooves oh so gently with the exact tracking pressure and antiskating force that only a precision tonearm can deliver. Every music on the analog grooves may never sound the same (ever so slightly) each time I play it: they are warm, natural, and musical. The mechanics of the automatic cycle underneath the chassis is just like the Valjoux 7750 designed to operate their tasks for functionality and reliability. Purely mechanical! The excitement is always there just like wearing a mechanical wristwatch. But, is it just me??
  3. This is what I got ... Somebody interpret this please ... phpBB : Critical Error Error doing DB query userdata row fetch DEBUG MODE SQL Error : 1016 Can't open file: 'phpbb_users.MYI'. (errno: 145) SELECT u.* FROM phpbb_users u, phpbb_sessions_keys k WHERE u.user_id = 1306 AND u.user_active = 1 AND k.user_id = u.user_id AND k.key_id = '787a7700814bbec39b200108f1ee6ce3' Line : 89 File : sessions.php
  4. Dunno what's happening but I can't get in too.
  5. Then you could kiss it adieu
  6. Yes, you can do it yourself if you do it V E R Y gentle or you'll break it. It's too thin!!! (Now if I may borrow Gran's picture, thanks Gran ) This is the part that needs to be bent. It is very thin so proceed with caution as you bend it to become a "U" shape. Mine was almost straight. Once you got it bent toward that "U" shape, your clasp would just fall into place and fit perfectly with no more gaps. @ Rolexman: No need to heat it up or you'll be in more trouble than you've started it. All it needs is a gentle touch.
  7. No worries guys, it's just an anomaly on the clasp lever where the notch is located which was bent way back thereby creating the gap. My watchmaker just bent it back the opposite way, and wallah ....
  8. I doubt that I would do any mods aesthetically, but more likely on the issue of getting it waterproofed.
  9. Sorry for the "orangy" shots. Didn't mean it to be that way but I guess it goes along well with the theme I am quite happy with it overall. Everything was just as I expected ... (Do you see the AR so noticeable on the 1st pic ) Until I snapped the clasp ... There's a big gap between the clasp and the band! So I contacted good 'ol Trusty on this to see what he can do about it. Again he came through for me. He's gonna give me $20.00 credit on my next order since the repair on this would be $15.00 according to my local watchmaker. Trusty always takes care of his clients.
  10. Hey Gran, did you booked yours on this 8th shipment too? Trusty said it's coming this week, so could be shipped this week or early next week.
  11. Already booked for Trusty's 8th batch of PO shipment is my next order coming soon ... The 4th Gen. Orange PO in 42 mm ...
  12. BenWaaaaah, it seems that you have the right length on your minute hand if you got it from Andrew. Take a look at the comparison ...
  13. Abay Sub LV for me today ...
  14. Excellent job Andrew! I am really looking at a gen right now for $2200 ... ... but since I saw your new post, I might just have to get yours ... MIGHT ! Anyway of testing the Water Resistance on this? It doesn't have to be 2000 ft I'll be happy with 30 m
  15. Thanks for all the input guys Just wanna make sure before pulling the trigger. (This could be my next watch depending on how my listing goes.) But then again, why should I get a gen if I could get a pretty close one with Trustywatchguy?? I know ... I'm still debating. I guess it's the waterproof issue I'm thinking about. I don't have to worry about it if I got a real diver's watch (even at 2000 ft) Besides it's also a 42 mm which is just right for my wrist. I think the 45 mm would be too big for my wrist size of 6.75 inches.
  16. What do you think guys, is that minute hand a tad short? PO
  17. Congrats jdmdohcpower! Nice watch! Wear it in good health.
  18. I'm very sorry to hear of your loss, Floris. Especially on your 18th birthday being your first order too. Time is on your side though, you're only 18! Man when I was 18, there were no such things like these reps. Just count your loses, get back up with a smile. When you get to my age, you'll probably have more watches than I'll ever have. Time is of the essence, we live and learn through it. But it's always the attitude on how we face it that makes the difference. Hey, they're just reps! I had my gen stolen from me before the days of the net. I put my Rolex Serti Sub on the newspaper classifieds when two thugs showed up on my door ready to "buy" my watch. Upon presentation, they were ready to hand me the money (or so I thought), but to my surprise, was pepper sprayed to my face. I was incapacitated (blinded) and they got away with it. I just lost my down payment to my house. Oh well, it's only money. Not end of story ... Since the watch was insured, I was able to collect the retail value of it. Made a down payment on the house and learned my lesson not to put anything in the news ad anymore, or make your dealings in a bank where thugs would be more intimidated to pull their stuff off. Although you may not have a nice ending, you still have learned something. It's a cruel world out there. Take it easy buddy, time is on your side.
  19. Good thing you all didn't pay $971,000.00 like this gen! Patek Philippe’s Sky Moon Tourbillon, ref. 5002, is a double-face timekeeper: the dial side features the mean solar time and perpetual calendar. The back of the watch has a nocturnal sky map, the phases of the moon and sidereal time. Not only is Patek Philippe’s Sky Moon Tourbillon the most complicated wristwatch of the current collection, it is also the first double-face wristwatch in the history of the Geneva-based manufacture. It incoporates twelve complications: perpetual calendar with retrograde date, week day, month, leap year cycle, age of the moon, minute repeater, tourbillon, map of the sky, sidereal time, angular movement of the moon and phases of the moon. The mechanical modulus of the astronomic indications displayed on the back of the watch with the nocturnal sky map is protected by Swiss patent CH 688 171 B5. The Sky Moon Tourbillon is delivered with a COSC chronometer certificate and its movement, like all movements created by Patek Philippe, has the privilege of bearing the Geneva hallmark. The manual winding movement comprises 686 different components, all hand-finished and assembled. Because of the time required and necessary to successfully carry out the numerous and delicate stages of the manufacturing process, only two examples of the Sky Moon Tourbillon will be produced every year. Price: $971,000.00

  21. After selling my gen TT Blue Sub to get the Evolution, I felt a great loss and sadness thinking if it will ever return to me again someday... ... in some form or another, here it is back on my wrist! The best blue dial color yet on a rep that's closest to the gen. Thanks Eddie Lee! Makin' my dream a reality ...
  22. Congratulations on a great job, Joshua! I have registered. Prices are great! You still take pp?
  23. I don't have the manufacturer's international warranty, but I have the gray market's 3 year warranty. I am completely satisfied with that since I just reside in the U.S. So $1830 ... or $500 is worth the savings to me.
