  1. Thank you both for your response! Guess that just goes to attest to my n00b status. The watch was a gift, and I am not sure how I came up with it being a Moon watch. @krpster, yes the a link on the top let loose and it fell from my wrist onto a tile floor. In the process it also left a ding in the bezel. I had the whole place looking at me when I screamed like and idiot as it hit the floor. Thanks for the advice! @rychastings, I had never thought about replacing it with a leather strap but I like the idea! Maybe I will get both, they can't be that hard to switch out, right?
  2. You better hurry, its a drunk discount sale special, I am sure for that space is limited!
  3. I came across this gem yesterday: This one was pretty popular on the net, so some of you may have seen it before, but here goes anyway....
  4. @KB that video is awesome. Thank you for sharing! I came across this video, which is one of those "f*ck year" get pumped videos. What do you guys think? The video itself its pretty boring, but the message is awesome.
  5. I didn't mean to insult anyone. I am sorry if it came across that way. I get your point and understand those that actually have had bad experience with privacy and Facebook. Obviously people who really do care a lot about their privacy probably won't be on Facebook to begin with. I guess what I was trying to say is that people who value their privacy above all else should leave Facebook, but having Facebook and complaining about privacy makes no sense. You can't post status updates or tweet and expect no one to find out...
  6. This. is. hilarious! "Turn her around...and bang up the butt" I just lost it.
  7. I believe it. I have never "stared" at breasts, I have only tried to live a healthy lifestyle. Common misconception.
  8. @seriph I have found one of the videos you were talking about...at least I think I did. I haven't been able to find the second one. If I do I will post it. 1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdGgbkLFP2Y
  9. I am willing to get that baby will grow up to be Doctor Evil.
  10. What a stupid reason to quit Facebook. The question is, why did Tyson know the girl in the elevator? Why would he have come across her in the first place? My guess, she was probably pretty hot and he had either seen her somewhere and looked her up, or her picture popped up and he proceeded to check her out. What I don't understand is, its not like he involuntarily gathered all this information about her. I am ok with the fact that some people don't like social networks. Thats fine don't use them. The biggest concept that people need to grasp is that NOTHING that you do on the internet is anonymous. If you use the internet with the mindset that everyone can see what you do, you have nothing to worry about. I feel like the same people that complain about Facebook being an invasion of privacy are the same ones that post negative status updates about work or their boss being an a-hole and in turn get fired. Obviously there are exceptions to that, but in general I think that is fair to say.
  11. I am not sure which video you are talking about, but it reminded me of this T-Mobile commercial... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcmfCXwAFs4&sns=fb I will look around and see if I can't find the videos you are talking about.
  12. I am sure everyone has come across a video on Youtube that just made them feel all warm and fuzzy, or have a "f*ck yeah" reaction. Not sure, if this thread exists, but if not it would be awesome to gather your favorites. I will start, here is one of my favorite videos on Youtube:
  13. I think Facebook is totally manageable. Max out the privacy settings, that way you can approve everything and anything you are tagged in. As far as the cookie goes, I use Google Chrome which has an awesome extension called Facebook Disconnect, it blocks Facebook from tracking webpages you go to. I like the idea of a VM, I use one for work all the time. For those of you interested, VirtualBox is free. Bottom line, none of the social networks out there are really "safe", just be careful about you put out on the net.
  14. That clip is hilarious. Hope you guys like this one:

  16. Well I am anxious to share with everyone what I got so far... so i am just going to go ahead and post the pictures in this thread. This is the first watch I ever owned from Porsche Design, nothing special but I love the simplicity of the dial This is my prized rep Hublot Big Bang with rose gold Rep Omega Seamaster (James Bond) its kinda banged up, I used to wear it a lot Rep Omega Speedmaster (Moonwatch), has a broken band which I am trying to find a replacement for... And finally, probably my most prized watch is an antique pocket watch from my great grandfather. I have yet to figure out who the watch maker is or to narrow down the year it was made. It has several engravings on the back and is wound up with a tiny key. Hopefully this forum will help me figure out more details. *not picture is Titanium Seiko Chronograph, currently off for repairs. Also, I am banging my head against my desk trying to figure out why the rotation on a few pictures got messed up. I will try to fix it.
  17. Just to show you guys what exactly I am working with, here is a picture of the watch with the broken band.
  18. Gladly, what is the best way to do it? Is there a particular thread for posting collections? I was planning on taking some pictures tonight.
  19. Haha both are very hot! It's hard to actually read your post and not just jump straight to the signature...You should switch them up every once in a while.
  20. Thanks Mike! I have seen your signature over and over again in threads I have read, where is that gif in your signature from? For some reason Forgetting Sarah Marshall comes to mind... -George
  21. Hi Everyone, I am a total n00b when it comes to this forum and to the watch world for that matter, so please forgive me if this post is in the wrong place or already answered somewhere else. I am looking for a replacement band for my Omega Speedmaster Moon Watch. The band broke and has to be completely replaced. I started looking around online and on the bay, but couldn't find anything that had the same logo and engraving on the band. I want it to feel as close to the original as possible. Any help would be really appreciated.
  22. Thanks, Ken! I was browsing through the welcome section and couldn't think of anything more creative :-/ -George
  23. Hello Everyone! So excited to finally make take the leap and sign up for this forum. A very good friend of mine and longtime forum user has been trying to get me into the watch world for a while. He has hooked me up with several beautiful watches, and I can't get enough. I am really looking forward to learning more about fine time pieces and hopefully adding to my small and modest "collection" :-)
