But guys, I don't get it. I do not by any means want to play advocate for the Swatch group but they have raised prices only in Britain. This is not a price increase per se. It is clearly a reaction to the weak pound. So far goods can be moved around inside the EU and given the weak pound European buyers will take advantage of the discount the British Pound gives them, which may be partly a reason why the British economy is still doing quite well. To me it seems natural that companies outside the UK try to protect their business this way.

If they would be 40mm I would be extremely tempted. But it's a good thing. The last thing I need is another watch. ?
I am starting to hide them in different drawers around the house so my wife gets confused and doesn't realize the full magnitude of my addiction. ?

Nice. But why does it have to be 44mm? I don't get why they have to blow up all these homage watches.

Excellent news. Sogeha is a perfect fit to the spirit of this forum. Congratulations mate.

Exactly. It escapes me why people wouldn't know that.

I like it very much, especially the case. What is the red dot on the dial?
The red dot was a marketing thingy of Zodiac's in the 80s and early 90s. There was a red, gold and silver dot series. The red dot series mainly consisted of professional sports watches.

Also, as I'm liking PVD at the moment, how about PVD coating the bezel?
The case is available in PVD. http://www.ebay.de/itm/130777598931?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=430098293321&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I actually plan to make a watch with this. I already have the dial. Not sure about the hands I should use.

I am still trying to build watches with all kinds of parts I can find on the internet as I want to have as much practice as possible and I think it is boring to disassemble and assemble the same watch over and over.
But it is not so easy to find parts that fit together mechanically and even more difficult to find stuff that matches aesthetically. Sometimes the outcome is hard to foresee because you need to use your imagination to combine fotos from eBay or other sources to a watch that you will only see once it is build. This time I bought a Zodiac dial, a swiss aftermarket case and used some 1675 mercedes hands I had lying around.
I am really happy with the result. IMHO nothing looks off. To me it looks like a watch from the designer drawing board. What do you guys think?
Here is another shot that makes the gloss dial more prominent.

Was so sad to hear about Al Jarreau today. In my mid twenties I just couldn't get enough of his live album. I was singing along every word and note (except the real high ones:-)). Of course I was still living alone at the time. ;-)

...and cranked out a 'fake vintage' watch that will run for a many years. I can't help being a little bit proud of it even if it is a 'fake' because I put it together, know it inside and out, and can fix it if it breaks.
So...when some dildo with shiny shoes and a new submarooner starts bragging about how great and expensive his watch is and spouts 'fake watches are for fake people', I have to wonder if characters like that ever learn anything about life....
Great post! Made my day!
