  1. Nice grab rocky. I am looking at pickin up one of these with the white face but I'm insure on the white face because I alway hear that the whites are off colored.. So I was looking at the black face model as well but man... That white face look georgeous. Anyone have any input on the white face as compared to the gen white?
  2. I have the 42mm explorer II from Josh. Serial starts with a G
  3. Thank you all for the great input! I have a tough decision but am leaning towards the brown strap 029... I have the 42mm Rolex explorer II so that's the main thing still kicking in my mind on getting the 187G
  4. Thanks Corvette for the info and the link! I am soaking up information on Rolex's and Breitlings like a sponge and know I have a long way to go. All the info I receive is appreciated extremely!
  5. I was thinking of ordering this one from Josh's, http://www.1-pc8838.com/pn029m04-ssle-swiss-p-11710.html I dont know much about the brand but I do like some of there styles and wanted the members of this section who im sure know plenty about the brand to help me figure out which one i should get. I was also looking at the submersible 187G http://www.1-pc8838.com/0pn187g01-submersible-chrono-ssru-a7753-p-10436.html as well as the Marina Militare's.... Honestly i don't know which one is the best for the dollar as I do like the look of all 3. Any opinions on which REP is built better or something that could edge towards one over the other would be appreciated! Many thanks in advance!
  6. wow thanks for the quick responses, i thought it was a little too good to be true type deal... i am so glad i found this site a couple weeks ago & am looking forward to the day when ive learned enough to spot fakes as easily as you guys seem to!!!

  8. Honestly the lume is brighter then any watch i've owned but it doesnt look radioactive like on Josh's website pics. Its a nice blue and it is clearly bright in the dark but definitely not radioactive.. LoL Edited---- Funny thing about my GEN breitling with all those fancy diamonds and BS the damn seconds hand fell the eff off on me the other day and i gotta spend $110 just to get it back on.... im like mehh.... ill leave it off till i actually decide i want to wear it again or someone seriously talks about buying it... 31 three quarter ct diamonds on that bezel and honestly im not the least bit impressed by it. It was a gift from my brother who is a pilot for Continental express as an express jet pilot so he has a lot of Breitlings.... I was like thanks dude, i think? I actually fear losing my arm when i wear it out sometimes... either that or folks just think its a novelty item... LoL.... life is a trip!
  9. Ya I took the pic in pitch black with my iPhone 4s so it wasn't the best. I am finding it harder to take the Lume pics then I thought, can't seem to get it right
  10. Here is a shot of the Lume. Ill try to get a better one up later today. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  11. Thanks for the info! I know I am going to bite the bullet on an a7750 soon. That black steel super is tempting me so hard. Do the a7750 movements tick loud or about average when placed near the ear?
  12. I was looking at getting the 2008 model breitling avenger seawolf with the yellow face and steel bracelet with the ETA movement, but I was informed there no longer offered even though Josh's site has them listed. I really want a REP breitling to compare against my Gen Breitling but I don't want the exact same model, I know it makes sense to do same model for comparisons sake but I just don't need 2 Bentley 6.75's.... Ugh ... I like the look of the new Super Avenger super lume that I saw on Josh's site but I am nervous to purchase an Asian 7750... I just don't know about that movemt & it's lifetime. I prefer eta's with date or no-date... As always all comments & advice are welcome!!
  13. Aww man that kinda sucks... I really liked that yellow face avenger. Any thoughts on the Black Steel edition that is on there pages now in the new section? The one with the rubber strap... I want to take the plunge on a REP Breitling so bad because I want to compare it to my GEN and try to see how close they have gotten. I guess the best thing to do would be to order a REP model of the GEN model i have... but seems like a waste of sorts to me but then again I do want something to compare with without going to the high end jeweler who always puts on the high pressure to make a sale... bahh decisions decisions....
  14. There is definitely some AR on the main crystal and on the Clops. How much i couldnt tell you but I do know that wearing it around at the mall in the bright lights I had minimal reflection when i angled the watch and at home I hardly get any of the glare from computer screens and such. I wish i was more experienced with watches and such but I am definitely going to get experienced as I have signed up for some classes from a link a fellow member gave me and I plan on ordering several more watches of different styles and brands. Next on my list is the Yellow faced 2008 style Breitling Avenger Seawolf I saw on Josh's site. Anyone know much about that watch? Link http://www.1-pc8838....242-p-5612.html I find myself gravitating toward the simpler movements, IE: No chronographs because I am nervous to try one of the Asian 7750's. I really like the black steel limited edition super avenger but im afraid the movement will fail and I honestly don't know where to get something like that fixed. At least the swiss movements i know the local jeweler can repair or replace.. At least I think. LOL As always, all thoughts and comments are welcomed! EDIT***---- I am working on getting those LUME shots uploaded. Pics soon!
  15. Lume is very bright, like wow bright. I'll break out the canon tonight & get a Lume shot for the board.
  16. Im not very good at posting pix yet but I'm gonna give it a go. Overall im happy with the watch. I think the crown on the clasp is off center and one of the clasp sides seems damaged or bent of sorts, you can see it in the pics i believe. But overall i am happy as I am not an expert on these watches nor know much about them. The orange hand and orange explorer II are definitely off color from one another but it doesn't bother me in the least really. For what it is, a smooth operating watch with an elegant look and hopefully a movement that will last me many years I am happy. Although the bracelet makes squeak noises when fastening it, (i do not know how to lubricate the bracelet, gotta read up on it), i think it can be remedied. Also I took all the pics with my iPhone 4s, I have a professional canon EOS 70d if anyone wants some real up close and personal shots or super macros. Feel free to chime in and speak up, i welcome it! First up is a wrist shot. Looks pretty good to me! By decker6869 at 2012-01-18 Next to my Gen Breitling, the breitling is huge so I thought this would be a good pic to show size comparison. Its not too small but not too loud either which is the look i wanted to go for as the Breitling just screams for attention. Uploaded with ImageShack.us A pic of the crown on the side. I honestly don't know what I'm looking for on these pics so any guidance or any requests of angles or shots please let me know. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Shot of the inside of the clasp. Seems legit to me? Uploaded with ImageShack.us Here is a pic of where you can see what I believe is the crown being off center and the damage to the right of the buckle? I don't know the terminology but it looks bent? What do you guys think? Uploaded with ImageShack.us Another pic of the clasp and crown... Uploaded with ImageShack.us A pic of the rehaut i think its called? It has a serial number engraved at the 6 o'clock postion. I dunno what the Gen has or doesn't have so any info is welcomed and as I said earlier, if anyone wants a certain shot just let me know! Uploaded with ImageShack.us To close for now I am happy. I wish it didn't have as what appears to be damage to the clasp area but I can live with it for $400.... What to get next? Any suggestions? LOL
  17. Apparently the USPS tried to deliver to me today but no one authorized was available to receive so they left a notice for me to pick it up. Truth be told I was at home all day and no one tried to deliver anything and there was no notice as well. I am going to pop down to my closest post office at 8:30 in the morning and get to the bottom of these shenanigans! I am confident however that tomorrow morning I will be taking pix and posting this here time piece.
  18. Mines in San Francisco doing the "Customs" thing... of course today being a federal holiday means I have another day tacked on to my wait... LoL Waiting is pretty fun though. Feel like a kid waiting on a new toy! I will definitely post a ton of pics when I get mine in which i'm hoping will be before the week is out.
  19. Thank you for the reply and I will check it out for sure! *Edited*-- I just checked out that site and the prices are outstanding compared to the other correspondence school I saw earlier and this place seems way more professional and active. Many kudos for the link!! Thanks much!
  20. Forgot to mention its a "Johnny the Jeweler" piece out of Houston,Tx. Watch and diamonds are guaranteed authentic.
  21. Just wanted to say hello to everyone again but this time using the introduction forum! (I made an earlier introduction in the Josh forum when i purchased a REP 42mm Explorer II) . Anyhow I am new and am reading my tail off trying to soak up as much knowledge as possible. I would love to learn how to work on mechanical watches myself but have not had much luck in finding anywhere local to learn. (Dallas,Tx. here) I also only have 1 fancy watch that I have ever owned and it was a gift from my brother, I am attaching 1 pic of it with this intro for others to view and comment on it as I would love feedback on it as I am thinking of selling it cuz its not really my style but its a beauty! Looking forward to a crazy new hobby and learning as much as can be while at the same time trying to be productive as well to the community!
  22. D'oh... I ordered the white one earlier this week... Guess I should've waited on the black face... Ah well, live & learn!
