  1. Here's my effort - hasn't seen wrist action for a while but forgot how much i liked it! Have a good weekend all...
  2. THank you kindly - I shall get PMing straight away!
  3. Hi there I have had continual problems with my 183's winder and fear that the movement may have sustaines serious damage. I also have another PAM who's hands have fallen off and woudl like this repaired too. Its been so long since I was on the site that I can't remember who to turn to (preferrably in Europe) to help me out. Any suggestions? thanks all
  4. Just kidding. Seriously. Well if the title didn't scare everyone off or at least send the site regulars into indignant convulsions then I woudl be surprised, but nonetheless pleased. I was last on this site probably over a year ago now so I guess I'm popping my head back through the proverbial door. I guess what I'm saying "hello again" from Guernsey - hope you'll have me back I've seen a few old names that i recognise straight away so it'll be a pleasure to speak with a few of you again and tap the vast pool of knowledge! I'll dig my little old collection out of mothballs, show a few pics and hopefully resit the urge to buy too often! God willing my addiction will cost me less this time around... TTFN Ralphy
  5. Thanks very much everyone that's very helpful indeed. I couldn't work out from the internet references that i had found whether or not the gen bezel could turn freely but at least now i know. I'll pop into my friend the jeweller and pick up some abrasives to clean the watch & will get that glue sorted. cheers everyone
  6. Hello one & all, I have recently bought a rep (a 1655 orange hand) and unfortunately the bezel has fallen off. Obviously this model does not have a ratchet-style bezel but i assume that it is supposed to be able to turn freely? Anyway, now that the bezel is off i can't see how it could be fixed any other way than gluing. This being the case i guess it won't turn once i've glued it on! I've attached some pics and would appreciate some feedback about how i should tackle the problem. I should point out that i am a complete novice and have done nothing more complex than change a PAnny strap before... Thanks y'all

    Mystery IWC

Hey not to worry ken mate! I've already thrown a hissy fit and chucked my toys out of the pram :yucky: I am totally over it now however:D
  8. Sorry everyone I've been a bit slack and forgot about this group buy! Remind me again, was this simply restricted to one watch model and do i simply purchase direct from Silix Prime? My apologies if this is going over old ground. thanks

    Mystery IWC

Nooooooooooooooooooo!!!! Oh well not to worry. Real shame as that 39mm case diameter sounded just the ticket too! Well if anyone out there hears anything you know who to call!
  10. Just pulled this image off a thread on the slowly-dying old RWG site. I;m a big fan of IWC watches and also mourn the apparent lack of good quality reps. The current metal strapped model that is doing the rounds sure looks good but is too substantial for me. This one:... Looks the part but i'm not sure what is. I'm sure kenberg said that a good rep was now available but can anyone verify this (and who indeed possesses it) cheers!
  11. PLEASE IGNORE MY FOOLISH POST!! I said "bezel" without thinking and meant "insert" - glue is indeed the way to go!!! I would have deleted this post but i can't figure out how to do it. I'm off to hide in a corner now...
  12. Hi all, The new place looks to have a pleasantly familiar feeling which is all rather nice. Here's hoping things go nice and smooooooothly. Look forward to speaking with you all again. ta ta
