  1. Interesting Post Lani my man,

why i say this is i kinda felt same when i received my gen. white explorer... i was over the moon at first specially because it was bought from a fellow member and because it traveled through members hands all cross Atlantic to finally land on my wrist :) yet again something was off ... no part collecting, no pm s for advices no booking time on tribal s work bench ;)

As U said don't take it wrong i love the watch... actually i prefer it to my Sea Dweller! still we all get so used to a certain "procedure" with our watches that buying a gen just kinda takes us of track... ;)

Still "gen is a gen" and since we closely examined all kinda watches and makes still there are differences that will never be cough up by the makers... the attention to details and overall fit and finish is just milestones away... IMHO!

Now lite that baby up and enjoy... u acquired a nice piece... wear it in good health.

    Ure pal LAZ

  2. @ Marty thx m8,

The DW was already on the watch when i purchased it from orleon... is as close as it can get regarding being centered, i had one on my previous 1665 and it looked centered on most dates to me ... still maybe im not so picky that said these date wells are known that they do not align 100% on all dates still small price to pay in my eyes for that thicker font and flat 3s ... love the flat 3s man ;)

PS... this watch as all my Rolex modded pieces was skilfully transformed by MR. Tribal ;) as always he overachieved on my expectations...

    Laz

  4. Dear all.

Today at work i went to pickup some stuff in my locker and while there saw something resembling a steel bracelet in a box cowered with papers. I went to pull it out and realized its a watch :o

And not just any watch its a Certina ODC One, that my dad purchased me for my BD cca. 15 years ago B) I remembered that i took it with me in a non working state 5 years ago when i moved to peruse my career to another country, thinking im gonna go to a watch guy to see what can be done with it as it stooped running.

In the meantime i completely forgot about it and now it just appeared  ... i immediately went down to the shopping center and after a bit of cleaning of the contacts and a new battery the watch was alive :D

I'm wearing it as i write this and just looking at it tick makes me feel great, needles to say why... that said all in all still quite a looker ;)

This pictures i found on the web:

PS. i remember i sold a rep and since i wanted to protect it and was at my parents home i packed it in the original Certina box from this ODC ONE and sent the watch of... the problem is i cant remember to who so if someone got that box from me and still has it i would be glad if i can get it back... im willing to pay a few bob.

Thx for reading Cheers LAZ B)

  5. I was never really a BP guy but I just checked out the Fifty. Jeez, what a retail price on those - $12,800 for a strapped dive watch. Anybody handle the gen? Is it really made great or somehow otherwise noticeably an expensive piece.

    Hi R.

I did in september 2008 Vienna... i traveled there and back just to see this watch in an AD live since i was seriously thinking of getting it...

what happened ... <_< HUGE disappointment ... the fit and finish was way below my expectations the hole watch looked cheap... specially the bezel rotating system ... not only that it sounded like turning a cheap canal street rep it also had some play!!! can u believe it sheeesh :( also the strap is a joke thin looking cheap also noticed that where the buckle was attached it had a 0.5mm of play between the strap and buckle and that on both sides ....

i cant stress enough the disappointment ... at 9.8k euro they were asking for it.

Still i like the design and the history behind the fifty, so i would purchase the rep. but gen. i will stay away from.

    regards Laz

  6. @ freddy nope just the "cosmetic" HE Valve mod... u know how it is some things are more important then the other ones to each individual ;)

regarding the mvt. im using a standard Swiss eta 2836-2, in previous 1665 i was using a slow beat but also dont really make a big deal to me ...

This 1665 on the other hand will be my first NDT dialed one, i previously used modded MBW dials...

    Cheers Laz
