So I really think the rep factories did a great job on the Genta watches. The Ingy is fantastic. The new 'Ultimate' PP Nautilus are great looking and the MBW 15202 AP RO Jumbo is top notch.
Hey guys, This is an oldie but a goodie. For the Ingy owners you know what I'm talking about. It is such a quality made rep. There were various dial differences throughout the Ingy years. I have two of them. One already has a Lello dw installed the other has it unmounted. I actually owned a sweet fully modded one back in the day but stupidly sold it thinking Lello and the Ingy would be around forever. Well that didn't happen. One of them has Chief's double AR and the other has K222's double AR. Chief's double AR is absolutely ridiculous. The only difference that I could see in the dials is that the print is bolder on one dial while the other one is more precise & fine. I have a bracelet, genuine IWC kevlar, and a custom leather strap for them. I love them so much I have two. Just in case. Unfortunately the rep factories phased these out once the gen version was phased out of IWC's product line Even though these are a couple of years old, they still crush a lot of the new reps that are coming out of the factories. They just ooze quality.
I actually have a Safari coming in next week with a HKTan strap. Its from a member and had been serviced from Francisco.
Once that comes in I'll post some pics of my 5 APs in one photo shoot
The straps that have are....HKTan on Safari, Capalovaro from AP Bands on the Silver Themes, Rubber on Diver, AP Sharkskin on Black Themes.
I'm thinking the same thing. The Diver came in and its impressive. I'll put up my Black themes when I get the time
Great choice on the Safari. I have one flying in from Asia as we speak. I also picked up the Diver. Francisco is out of service for now. My APs that got serviced by him was before when he was taking customers. I don't believe the service is imperative. I think if the watch is running well just enjoy it
Hey Greek,
My only experience has been with the newer movements with the extra jewel and with Francisco serviced/modded movements. I've had no problems. If you're concerned you could always pick up a Diver.
By the way...I picked up a Diver & a Safari this week. Safari was serviced by Francisco. I'm wearing the Diver right now and trying to decide if I want to let go of my black themes....
LOL...I guess we are both right. So the gen is slightly recessed with the curvature being flush with the bezel.
Hmmm...I need to take a different approach to QC pics then. I've been religiously choosing ones with bezel screws slightly sunken
No problem buddy! I'm glad I could contribute in some way. I gave a Studio to my girl and kept a pair of studios & detox for myself. The detox sound great, but they begin to crush my head. I think I have a big head The studios are lighter, less constrictive, thus more comfortable. However, they will only work with batteries, so I would have extra batteries lying around
I've been debating this with a forum friend.
I claim the bezel screws should be slightly recessed/sunken.
He claims every gen he's had in his hand, the bezel screws are flush with the bezel?
who's correct?
Also...just to be confirm...from what I've seen of the gen...the bezel screws are suppose to be slightly sunken/recessed, correct? Not totally flush with the bezel?
Totally agree...with the price of these ROOs, you should get what you want..
although I am very sorry that I'm annoying the dealer...I had him send me several different picks before I chose one.... Trying to go for that slightly recessed, good alignment, same height look...Its really tough!!!
This was the best I could do...
I noticed on a ROO that I bought from a member that indeed black rubbery stuff was sticking out....It drove me crazy...and a member told me it might mess up some of the waterproofing...but visually I couldn't stand it...so I took a toothpick and just scraped and scraped until it stopped poking out of the bezel screw holes...Then I used one of the high compress air thingees that you use to clean keyboards to blow out any little bits of rubber...that was a stupid idea...because next thing I know...the crystal is hazy because the cold air got in and condensed on the inside of the crystal....some light hair dryer action and sitting it out in the sun fixed it, it seems...
Bottom line: I'm an idiot
With box: $42 EMS to the US. I believe he can ship regular airmail as well for cheaper but will take 2 weeks....however...it might be safer for customs to go this route...but its a long ways to wait...If you just ship the headphones + accessories the shipping I think is cut in half...
