Should the second amendment also include explosives? Such a milita might need bombs landmines etc. if the average civilian should have military equipment to defend themselves, maybe they are under armed? In a school shooting situation a teacher with a few grenades for example could defend the children? Why do the NRA only care about guns? Maybe it is that the explosives lobby is too weak...

Ah, so it is a less accurate rep, but with a better movement.
Reps can be frustrating!!!

He listed the new model, but didn't add it to the NEW section. Here it is ------> http://www.ttw168.co...roducts_id=9799
There are two or more versions currently in production. the new Superlume dial is on the watch with no date window frame. The other watch available has a heavy date window frame. Neither watch is "just right" with the date window.
Is this one a different version? It seems to cost more, but does not have the superlumed dial, but claims to have a better bracelet. What do the experts think?

Where did you get that strap? I'm guessing it did not come with the rep.

I think there is some mention of this site in the style section of the forum. Not sure if it really is Trevor the trusted dealer here.

It might be cheaper to just purchase a replacement bracelet from an AD.

Even if the graphic I posted is out of date, the stats have probably not changed much. From a recent New Yorker article I read that the United States is the country with the highest rate of civilian gun ownership in the world. (The second highest is Yemen, where the rate is nevertheless only half that of the U.S.) No civilian population is more powerfully armed. Most Americans do not, however, own guns, because three-quarters of people with guns own two or more.
Those who are arguing for even more guns in order to somehow reduce gun violence, are making a fairly thin argument

In 1996, Australia banned semi-automatics. In the 18 years before, there were 13 mass shootings. Since then, none. The crazy knife wielding man in china attacked 22 people, but none died. There is a fairly high correlation between the rate of fire and the number of deaths in these situations.
I like guns, I used to hunt in my teenage years, but I would never keep a gun in the house with my child, and I would never consider sending my child to a school where there are armed guards, as some people suggest. That is absolute madness.
Some interesting stats in the following graphic for those who feel more guns are necessary, how many additional guns would be needed to bring down the deaths in the USA?

Rep straps tend to be low quality. Just buy a high quality strap for the watches and they will look great. Each of those two watches would look great on a genuine crocodile leather strap. I would not worry about buying one with Bregeut or A Lange written on it.
On my gens I do not buy branded straps to replace the original ones when they wear out, and i doubt many people do. You can transfer the buckle over to the new strap, or just buy a deployment on ebay which causes the straps to wear less than a buckle.

OK, I'll stop driving everyone nuts with my questions soon.
This Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Power Reserve seems to be a fairly good dress watch rep. Also it is a rep of a reasonably priced Gen.
The rep

The Gen

Are there any glaring problems with this rep?
Is the fact that the seconns are at 6 a problem, or is that only for chronos?
Thanks

The ladies Roles and Cartier watches are quite good. I bought my wife a rep Cartier balon bleu which she is delighted with.

It is starting to look like some of the best dress watch reps are Patek Phillipe Calatrava's. They seem to be roughly the same measurements as the gens, and they have closed case backs. Many of the dress watches I have looked at have display backs, which is a huge tell.
Any Patek experts on the forum who can suggest the best reps?

Glashutte Senator Sixty!
Simple, elegant, excellent rep.
But good luck finding one.
I just found the Senator 60's on Andrews site, but once again it is way bigger than the gen. Gen is 39mm and rep is 43.
I find it amazing that not one dress watch is even decently repped.

are the Vacheron Constantin Patrimony's considered good reps? Any experts?

The Cartier Santos and Ballon reps are not too bad.
This FC shouldn't be too hard to rep. I'd buy it with an ETA clone.
although it's affordable enough to just buy the gen.
Its funny, I was just looking at the gen of that Fredrique Constant. It costs $1500 on amazon USA and GBP 1500 on Amazon UK. Seems the currencies must have reached parity when i was not looking.
I love those two watches Hike. Where did you buy them?

Thanks for all of the replies. Dosent the IWC 3714 suffer from the same problems as the Daytona with the seconds at 6 movement? Are there any other good reps of fairly simple dress watches available? Are there any with closed case backs, as the biggest give away with the Breguets is the undecorated movements in the reps.
I've only started my search for a good dress rep, and would love some input. The Nautalis and AP RO are still sports type watches, i was looking for something I would wear with a suit.
-
After a bit more searching, this one looks quite good, but the gen is 35.5mm and this is 39mm

I am looking for a nice dress watch in stainless steel with a white face. I quite like the look of this Breguet, but have no idea if it is a good or bad rep. I took a look on their website, and found some similar watches, but not identical.
What do the Breguet experts on the forum think of this, or are there any better reps in a similar style?

What are the most accurate dress watch reps available?
-
I bought a cartier rep there 10 years ago that started rusting on my wrist after about a week of wear. The crystal fell out of it on the street after about two weeks. Total crap.
-
Is this a rep or the gen you are reviewing?
-
what movement will you put in it?
-
next time he wear one of his "gens". make sure you quiz him about it. Say something like. I didnt know rolex made that model with XXX. When he answer you just give him a hmmm... if you say so.
I like this idea, instead of calling out his watch, ask him if it has a replacement bracelet, as it does not look right, or if he had the crystal replaced.

I love the engineering. I am surprised that so many people are so negative on the watch.
Australians Have A Warning For Americans

There are some interesting stats on this page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_of_guns_per_capita_by_country
For the Americans who believe that more guns are the solution to school shootings, you do have considerably more guns per head of population than even the most war torn countries. How many more do you think are needed to finally bring your gun crime rates down?
For those who feel high gun ownership is needed in order to defend against government, note how low gun ownership is in Tunisia, where the Arab Spring started. It seems that a kalashnikov under every pillow was not needed.
