It is amazing, IWC is not a big brand here in NZ, the AD's carry a few items, but no Portuguese.... Criminal. Best looking dress watch by far. Stunning.

Found a GMT today. It's not vintage, however I will be keeping my eyes open for a "pepsi"

Looks like you have fantastic taste too brown. Been wearing it this evening and don't think I can take it off.... I was planning on not wearing it after today until the wedding..... I am not sure I can take it off now though.

Cracked out an old friend today (Saturday) but have matched the date. Electric blue for a blue sky winter day

Love the watch Nanuq... The hunt is on.

Well I missed out. Rang up today to make an appointment to view tomorrow, and that beauty sold today.... Slightly gutted... On a positive note he is currently servicing an identical watch which is slightly more "used" that may be up for sale next week. The hunt continues. Thanks for the input

Panarei, What can I say, thank you for such a detailed response. I did not hope for so much time on anyone's part. The date setting issue has been the one thing that is playing on my mind. I would not intend to wear it as a daily, but I think I can live with that. I travel to the uk often and the gmt setting would be very handy. Re the dealer, all research and conversations so far point to a true professional. They sell watches on behalf and I believe this is one of those. Hopefully I get to go visit their shop on the weekend. Ideally 6k would work, and will try my luck as you suggest. Wish me luck! Thanks again.

Hey all, I am new to this watch scene. 12 months hobby so far and loving it... I am fortunate enough to be able to entertain the thought of purchasing a couple of gens. I was originally looking at buying a new watch for my wedding but there are some lovely pre loved ones out there.... I have never been huge on Rolex but going to go try the follow on over the weekend.... http://www.jewelwatch.co.nz/watches-for-sale.php Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT Master 2 Model: 16710 Watch Description: Steel case and Oyster link bracelet, red and black bezel Age: 2005 Movement: Automatic Case Size: 40mm Includes: Box & Papers Condition: 10/10 New Retail Price: NZ$12,065.00 Price: NZ$6,500.00 From what I have seen $6.5kNZD is slightly over the odds considering what can be got online. Or am I wrong and its a good price? The benefit of this is that I get the chance to hold the exact watch before buying. Thoughts and opinions are welcome! especially if I am wrong on anything above! Thanks in advance

Hey guys thanks for the options, I tend to get blinders on when looking at watches and trying to expand my field of view. SGT, that is a nice looking omega indeed. is that the new ceramic P/O? I am not up to speed on Omegas at all. I must go try one on.. WHO, That is a very classy watch! maybe too classy for me but love the look of it. All good options! Love this part of the wedding planning! What do you guys think about 42mm planet oceans reps for the guys? I was thinking a simple dress watch with leather strap but now... Cheers, Al

Correct gen for me. And my men get the reps. Should have put more info up. That budget for my watch is the upper limit, upper limit. Ideal spend would be less than 8k USD. A.nice dress watch is what I am after. Cheers

Hey, So I know that title is very vague but had no idea what else to put. So I am getting married in August whoop whoop, I am in the process of finding a wedding watch for myself... Well the wife gets the bling so I figure I at least get some for myself. Obviously it must be a gen. I have spotted a yaht master and iwc Porto chrono at my local AD/jeweler of choice. So knowledgable folks what would your pick be? I have a budget of $15000.00 NZD. (roughly 12k USD). Also I would like to get my four grooms men a nice dress rep. Must have leather strap on buckle/deployment. I have put a figure of $200 USD excluding shipping on this. Feel free to chime in as the more input the better! Thanks in advance. Cheers, Al

Hey Omega gurus, Just a quick question re the item below. Thoughts in general? http://www.trademe.co.nz/jewellery-watches/watches/mens-watches/dress/auction-489699347.htm I have the opportunity to buy it $1000 below the asking price. That scares me a bit, is it Gen? (from what you can see obviously. I am not up to speed on Omegas, so any input would be helpful. Cheers, Al
