  1. South of Italy is still in the business !

I remember when we went on holiday when I was a child, sellers trying to sell watches to my father while having a rest on the highway...

We had a French license plate, but once my father insulted them in Napolitan dialect, we always managed to get some good discount !

The fact that these bags would be done in Italy is certainly a good explanation for the higher quality noticed in the counterfeits. ^_^

  2. But what are the options if you have been scammed when buying non-legit goods?

I choose to scam the scammer..and feel guilty.

Everyone has his own mind and moral.

InkedOg has both options : HE chooses.

The third option being to leave the matter as it is.

  3. This is a bad idea - criminal even. I'm not sure, but I think you can go to jail if you do that (credit card fraud).

Sure, it's not the cleanest way.

But there are some points that makes it not condamnable IMO, although fraudulent :

    - no goods have been delivered, therefore InkedOg is not acting as if he bought something he got and declared he did not do any operation. That would be a real fraud.

    - by either filling a claim or declaring his card lost and fraudulent operations linked (actually only this one), the seller should be asked for a chargeback by his own CC company. I doubt the Insurance involved will make any gift in such a situation, and if a refund can be obtained, it will be done at buyer's expenses. That's a kick in the ass of that seller, only scammer in this matter.

    - we're talking about a way to get honestly earned money back for a buyer whose mistake was only not to be aware of all the possible scams in the reps World, not about stealing money. Sure, it's not a very honest step... I won't enter the field where we would be talking if all this hobby is really legal

Let me correct my statement from excellent idea to good idea. :g:

Now that the lesson is learnt, the next happy step is to choose a decent replica from one of the boards dealer.

  4. @Italiano : well, the strap was still holding after I removed the 4 screws, and I did not dare to pull the thing. Maybe that's simply what has to be done.

A springbar tool can play the role of a H screwdriver.

@Omni : this is the low-beat A7750, they all have a dummy fine regulator, it's true, that looks better. As the elimination of the saw-tooth in the middle of the rotor. To avoid to be called out with the movement, probably the best solution is to buy the Tuiga Ltd edition, with closed caseback. Unfortunately the V2 Tuiga is wrong (it has a display caseback).

  5. If you paid by credit card, you should fill in a claim and get your money back. You don't need to say what you bought, as anyway webstores go through a third party credit card company whose name surely does not contain any reference to replicas (like ctopay for example).

Just say (or write, depends on your bank) that you bought electronics online and that you did not get anything yet, neither answers nor goods.

That works too for paypal or moneybookers. The only way of payment which doe not offer a backup solution is the bank transfer, including Western Union (which I refuse to work with anyway).

Most scammers rely on the fact that the buyer will not risk filling a complain, as they do not want to look like criminals. Just do it !

  6. That looks fantastic on your wrist TripleS ! :D

And these are nice pictures you shot !

Despite the absence of a pronounced blue hue on the crystal in most positions, your pictures (and reality) show a crisp dial. I'm still convinced there is a single AR treatment.

What's your feeling now on this strap ? Especially concerning dust attraction ?

I take this opportunity to ask the members who swapped their strap on how to proceed. Indeed, it seems that Watchmark now sells the better strap for 30 USD. Although it would be much better to get one immediately, we still can get an improved HBB by buying the 405 VD + this 30 USD strap.

I have tried to remove the 4 screws on the "lugs", but it seems that was not enough.

    Any help appreciated.

As far as I'm concerned, the next mod is definitely a rotor engraving on my lite V1.

  7. It seems Angus has a reduced price on the Breguet : competition at its best ! :D Although it seems to be a different batch : blued screws and shorter minute hand.

Actually none is close to the gen :

    - the Breguet for the reasons I mentionned in my review

    - the JLC is complete fantasy : it does not refer to any existing model. If you prefer the PR, I would rather go to one of Homer's Tourbillons. Additionnally, PR is a possible additionnal source of problems.

The PR probably does not cost more (or much more) IMO, as it's a feature which is already present in the ST-80 that equips both watches. At least that's what I understood.

Be careful when you buy the Breguet : obviously they make the caseback engraving after it's screwed on the case. So the screws are sometimes touching the text, which I find lame. I saw one where the T of Breguet was covered by a screw... :g:
