  1. Sometimes the o-ring will slip out of the tube. When it does it get sort of cocked over the crown tube. When that happens you need to take a needle, and work the o-ring back into the tube. It will probably come out again. If that happens remove the stem, with the crown still on it, and replace the o-ring. If you can't find the correct one put a drop of super glue on the outside of the o-ring and reinstall it into the tube. When I say a drop I mean about as much as you can get on the end of a needle. Oil the post ont crown and reisert into the movement. That should do it.
  2. Nothing wrong with plastic. Whatever fits the application the best
  3. Be certain the jeweler you choose is not an AD. Autorized Dealer for rolex. Ask your friends if they know a jeweler. Always best to know someone who knows someone. Yes be straight up
  4. At least she didn't drug him, or we wouldn't have this laugh
  5. I disagree, I think its all gen
  6. Ive bought 2 from them. I think they are nice, although at $105 a little pricey. However, I could not find them anywhere else. And they had the blue smurf also.
  7. The spring is weak in the crown. After unscrew it and it pops turn it in reverse and see if it will pop out a little. It should wind then. If not, the spring in the crown is bad
  8. I use a 0004ths feeler guage and slip it under the date wheel and gently push the spring in. At the same time I manually rotate the date wheel slightly to align the teeth with the slot in the bridge. Then apply a slight upward pressure and remove the datewheel. To Install simply put it back on, rotate slightly to align the teeth, push the spring in withe feeler guage, rotate the datewheel a little more and you will feel it move down. Remove the feeler gage and you done. Takes about 30 seconds
  9. I don't know about the rest of the country, but in Dallas, if you don't show to a board meeting driving your blk blk S550 and wearing your rolex with diamond dial and bezel, they look at you and say " is everything ok" LOL
  10. I haven't seen one yet that you can't remove the bezel from. Maybe not on a $50 canal street
  11. droptopman, that's amazing. It looks really good. astonjenks, I'm not usually a strap man, but I really like that one. Is that a gen 6542?
  12. NO! Swiss is better. The reason your's drags is because the dwo was not placed high enough for it to clear the base plate. It's draging on th main plate
  13. Those old dials are hard to come by. Definate swiss 2836-2 or 2834-2. That shows how good the swiss movement is. You should thank him, very useable parts
  14. Yes china has swiss. However most of the gen swiss are used in the high end japanese watches. Such as sandoz etc. A new sandoz with a genuine swiss, and they are swiss is $400-$500. If you think your are buying a swiss in a rep for $300, your mistaken it is an asian clone. While they are much improved over last year they are still not as good as a swiss. Ive been using swiss movements since the mid 80's. Some watches I built with swiss in the late 90's are still keeping good time. Ive only been offering asian clones of the swiss for about a year. So far, the gold clone has worked well. I have repaired several with the silver clone. Don't know what the difference is, just know the facts. So, best movement GEN SWISS hands down
  15. You should never set the time in reverse. You are breaking your watch. Why would you want to go in reverse? To save 20 seconds? Just set it the was it was designed
  16. It's not how you use it, it's the problem with the movement mod. Wear every day if you like. If it's going to die, it will die weather you wear it or not
  17. Amelia Erhart. We still don't know what really happened. I know today we have communication around the world. It seems like every single flight in the world is tracked by someone somewhere. Very strange!! We may never know what happened or why.
  18. Something is causing it to drag. It should pop. Usually a minor issue
  19. The spring in the crown gets weak. When it does, the crown will wobble
  20. That is an extremly good alignment. Perfect? Thats a strong word, but as close to perfect as Ive see. I work on a lot of gen rolex, maybe 1 out of 50 are that good.
  21. Take a needle and put some anti-seize grease on the case tube. Screw crown in and out until you feel it smooth out. Then take a rag and wipe the excess off the threads on the case tube. You should see a marked improvement.
