  1. I also have a gen engine turn bezel and a gen crystal. If that helps.
  2. I agree. One of my customers has exactly the same problem. I have searched the forums looking for a fix. Here are the top three reasons they have problems. 1 dirty, 2 gear alignment, 3 it either works or it doesn't, there is no fix, no matter what anyone says. I agree with joerg, service does not guarantee a fix, and it cost 200.00
  3. The only thing I have been able to pick out between the gen and aftermarket inserts, is this. If you start at the pearl, going to the right, you have minute markers to the fifteen minute mark. The one thing I have noticed is the 9 minute marker is closer to the 10 on the rep, than on the gen. This one looks to close. Thats my 2 cents
  4. I have the exact same genuine dial, modded and ready to mount on a eta movement. I have gen swiss eta 2824-2 or 2836-2 and I have the dwo and a set of hands and crown, gen or aftermarket.
  5. I purchased a new 2846 from cas-ker, NOS, it was horrible. I tried to time it, it would run and stop and start on its own. I returned it!
  6. Has anyone else noticed an increase in the demand for a 1675? Seems to be very popular
  7. correct, sometimes, depending on mfg, it will be 24hr, hour, min, and sweep second
  8. All 2836-2834-2832-2873-2846 etc use the same size hands. Perhaps the tower on one of your pinons is to tall or to short. The hand stack should be, hour hand, 24 hour hand, minute hand, sweep second. All of those movements use the day wheel portion of the movement to set the 24 hour hand. They simply remove the set triper for the day wheel, and replace it with a toothed wheel which controls the gear on the 24 hour hand. Very simple conversion. Ck all post heights on you movement to make sure they are correct. 24 hour gear on top of the hour gear, small space above that for your minute hand, then install your sweep second. You can do it, just be patient and ck everything before you start.
  9. The insert should set at the exact bottom of the bevel on the crystal. Use whatever gasket can get you there. He's correct, use your fingers to pull out and down on the gasket to remove it. You are not going to break it, unless it's old and brittle. If it is, you don't want that gasket on your watch anyway.
  10. You should have a steel bezel around you crystal. It has to be a pressed fit. Im afraid you have the wrong bezel or crystal. Most of clarks stuff works well together. You might source a crystal from clark also, that should solve your problem of a loose bezel.
  11. Only problem with putting a daydate in a datejust case is the size of the case inside. A datejust dial and movement is slightly narrower than the day date. Daydate will not fit into datejust case without mods. Of course you can make anything fit anything. Inside diameter of the case must be opened up to accept the daydate movement. The rehaut also has to be enlarged to show all of the president dial. If you dont, it will cover the very outer edges of the president dial. Good luck
  12. here you go if you see one paticular that you like, let me know and I'll get a close up The champagne is gen The white one is enamel, very white not pink like in the pic
  13. Sorry I droped the ball. This morning I'll take pics of what I have. Blue with gold roman, white with gold roman, silver with gold sticks, gen chanpagne with gold sticks
  14. I have an old gen one for sale. Still not sure what it's for, asked the forum and still not to clear, but most people aggree probably 16800
  15. short answer, NO. Believe it or not most DJ oyster bracelets are made to fit a gen datejust
  16. I don't think you have anything missing. Your buckle has a notch that protudes from the clasp and goes into a hole on the other side. It appears from your picture that your buckle is to flat. Those are hard to bend, but if you can put more of a curve in the buckle it will latch. Take the bracelet off the watch, if you can put your thumbs in the middle of the clasp ( clasp in closed poisition) and put more curve in the buckle, that should do it. If you can't bend it, take it to your local jeweler and he can do it for you. Good luck
  17. My supplier in china told me yesterday he now has the 10k oyster bracelet. You will have to change the buckle, but at 168.00 not a bad buy.
  18. irolexu has some very nice ones. PM him
  19. A good place to start is to install the new stem in the movement in the case. Then pull the stem all the way out and cut it at the case tube. Good starting place and then like KBH said, cut and ck, caution only cut 1 or 2 threads from that point. 1 thread to short causes it not work properly.
  20. Stainless president looks great, as does the datejust, with the correct dial. Explorer is also very accurate
  21. Probably brushed to make it look better. My wife uses different color file boards for her fingernails. They come in white(very coarse) blue, yellow, and pink(very smooth) My guess is they used the white. You can use a new pink board and it looks almost factory. They work very well for puting a satin finish on bracelets, try it.
  22. Always remove the stem when it's in the set time position( all the way out) never in the wind position. Support your palm, and as you apply a gentle outward tug on the stem, slightly and I mean slightly, push down on the pin untill you feel the stem move outward. When you reinstall it, gently push it back in while slightly rotating it untill it reaches the wind position. Do not push the release pin down when reinstalling.
