Change the strap to a light tan and see what happens. I bought mine for the movement also, and was close to giving it away until I changed the strap. The lighter strap color makes the dial texture come alive. The watch is boring with a black or rubber strap.

I am pretty sure the original "A" version of the 29 did not have AR. I am not sure about the about the "B" version. In the early days many of the PAM "special versions" did not have AR. Also, I don't think that in 1997-1998 Panerai was using super-luminova, so standard luminova may be more appropriate. Put on a lello crown, buff the case (not the bezel) and you are pretty close.

Besides being fantasy. The textured dial looks nothing like a real Patek. This is one where you don't even need to look close to realize it is a rep.

Looks nothing like the Gen. It is supposed to be a chronograph. Not a day-date configuration.

If it is not 1-1 size, you can take me off the list. My current watch has tested water resistant to 5 ATM and I don't want to loose that. I would rather pay a little more for perfect.

This is one where Panerai got it right. OEM antique brown alligator is the only way to go.

AP is definitely the way to go. The other two are not even close to the real thing. You may also want to consider some of the rep VC's. They are also very good.

I have the white dial DW and it looks great. I have a simple rule Rolex-white dial, PAM - black dial. It gives some balance.

I have had them all, and none feel as "real" with a smoth movement as my Lellow crowned, eta 2893 Pam 029.

I like it better than a gen 196 I own.

BMW M3 Convertible is the way to go. You get all of the power- with the open top. With mine, the kids don't mind the back seat. Go with the paddle shifters, my wife is still irritated that I bought a stick.

I don't know which it is called, but the newer reps do not have the correct color. The true 212 color is the same as other PAM's. It is supposed to be the yellowish color.
