  1. Are we talking 166610 vs 16610 or 116610 to 16610? Or just modern Subs in general?

Either way 116610 vs 16610 IMO if we were able to source 1:1 cases and genuine parts more readily they would be (if not more) popular. Its the fact the 16610 can be built most to perfection that drives its praise and following... Or at least thats the case for me!!

Ive seen the 116610 in person, its nothing short of amazing which you would expect especially compared to the 116610 reps that are being made,,,

  2. That is beautiful and a great job, but like others have mentioned... Where is your price point? Unless you got silly deals on your gen parts, it would seem going this route would put you close to a used gen, cost wise. Am I wrong?

Its all about the journey... Franken build like this i'd estimate anywhere from 1-2.5k+ off a used gen price

  3. I have a genuine bezel, genuine tension spring and have bought 2 retaining rings both meant to be genuine, neither have worked (one works but wont spin easily with the tension spring). Complete genuine bezel sets are getting harder to come by these days... So that in mind I need to find a tension spring that suits what I have

  4. Does anyone know the size of a 14060m tension spring?

I know the Sean is gen spec. not sure about the TC, does anyone have a measurement of the TC tension ring?

    I have found this:

Gives some insight to the other size tension washers/springs

  5. Hey all,

Has anyone compared tension spring/friction springs from the various 16610 makers? TC, Sean, Genuine? Im assuming that both the 16800 and 16610 have the same size tension spring?

I have a crystal retainer that fits a genuine bezel but wont rotate if there is a genuine 16610 tension spring in it!? It also pushes the bezel up not leaving

much of a crystal lip which doesnt look genuine.

I can provide measurements for the gen but I dont have the Sean and TC springs any more :(

    Rep life...

    Thanks!

  6. Well...as I wrote...according to that one and only pic of yours it looks like the lower CG has a weired rounded inner shape and that's there a pretty visual gap between the SEL and the horns.

Lucky you if it's only the pic or my eyes...don't wanna offend you ;)

Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware.

All good :) Im not sure there might be or it might be the pic. As for the gap is that horizontal (between the lugs) or vertical?

  7. Well...it depends on the way one is looking at it...he probably spent more on this uberfranken then he would have to spent on a total genuine but still has a watch that, according to his pics (SEL fitment, CG trim), screams "rep"...from my/this point of view I cannot agree that dan_189 is a/the winner ;)

The total cost was under the cost of a genuine, I didnt trim the CG and the SEL fitment is actually quite good. Cant get much better seeming the case is a Sean but the bracelet is genuine. The only alternative for a genuine parts build is a TC case which wont fit a genuine bracelet.

Ive actually been in Rolex with it and they have looked at it and commented on what good condition its in, that to me is enough to be very satisfied.

  8. Ive never seen/used a gen glidelock clasp but its much better for smaller adjustments than the 93250 clasp.

As for 16610 vs 116610 (ceramic sub) reps, IMO comes down to two things:

    - Cost

    - Accuracy

You can get both cheap 16610 and 116610 reps, however you can get very expensive and accurate 16610 reps. the same however is not true for the 116610 reps.

    Hope this helps!
