  1. Over the past few months, I have fitted ETA mainsprings (or commonly called swiss mainsprings) in my rep ROOs.

Compared with the asian mainsprings supplied with the watch originally, the swiss mainsprings have much higher tensile strength, and provides much stronger force to drive the gears, overcoming the inherent friction present in the A7750 sec@12 designs much better. Also, the swiss mainsprings provide a much better power reserve compared with the asian ones. (about 55+ hrs compared with the 40ish hours for asian mainsprings). Timekeeping, power reserve, and reliability all show marked improvement in my watches fitted with the swiss mainsprings. Best $65 ever spent!

I definitely strongly recommend it over the jewel mod. I own watches with the 3 jewel mod, the ETA mainspring mod, and one watch with both mods. In my opinion, all of them run EQUALLY well. So why spend more time and money on the 3 jewel mod when a much simpler and cheaper solution does the same thing, and provide better power reserve simultaneously? ;)

Thanks A! Would this also be applicable at the 7750's sec@6?

  2. Markie I didn't see the price written for this dial so I so was stating if the price was right then I'm in...It wasn't some sort of lowball statement or a putdown at all but Rolli took it to heart and posted some BS to me via PM...Thats all.

Ok I see... I didn't want to attack you or anything. My post wasn't pointed at you personally either.

    It's all good! :)

  3. I cannot believe that you guys question rollie/fgd. I cannot afford his dials, but instead of attacking him I admire his superb work and the creations the members show after they are finished.

Ask yourself, is the price of a Rolex right? It sure is a bunch of metal and other materials put together. But don't forget the amount of time spent of designing it, prototyping it, building it, qc'ing it, etc. A dial is not the same as a watch but I'm sure you get the point.

There's a sh*tload of time and energy spent in each of his dials. Time is money my friends. Not to mention the quality compared to a plastic piece of asian crap.

I cannot afford a dial, but I'm pretty sure the price is right!
