  1. i've heard of staining dials and handsets with coffee, but wet sanding with it?

i'm not so sure i understand what you mean...

you wetted the dial, and scrubbed it with coffee grounds?

i ask because your watches, both of em, look really good! cheers to that :)

really dig seeing projects like this

He means 2000 grit wet and dry sandpaper.

Really looking good mate, that exp dial looks sweet.

  2. Says it was purchased at an authorised Panerai dealer, yeah right, and this is from someone with feedback of 3, all for purchases on ebay of 99 cents each lol

    more like a trusted dealer!

Im exicited because have one of these on its way to me from sixx. Cant wait!!

  3. *Update* I have had a couple of PM's about this so thought I would provide an update, I have decided to stick with the original plan of a 24mm strap, I know the vote was split between that and a 20/16 rolex strap, but I feel as though as a starting point the 24mm idea is easier to bring to fruition, I may well do a second run depending on the success of the first batch.

So I have just received the leather, its english cow hide and the colour is antique tan, I have attached a close up picture below to show the lovely aged look. It is one of the nicest hides I have bought and its what I would like to use for the RWG Members strap.

Thickness of each strap will be 4mm, as discussed it will be 24mm and will not taper. Stitch colour will be butterscotch, its a similar colour to the leather and I think will look very nice. Standard open stitching and double foating keepers.

Each strap will be stamped RWG DS (devilseam) on the rear.

The cost for each strap will be £39. This will include PP and delivery worldwide. I will also make a donation to RWG of £3 per strap.

Brushed or Polished pre v buckles can be added for an additional £6. (a further £1 donation to RWG)

I am going to limit this run to 20 straps. Each strap will be numbered 1-20.

The strap will be presented in one of my presentation tins and will include a Devilseam window sticker.

My plan is to complete a strap and take some good quality photos, then I will take orders via PM or devilseam@mail.com

Thanks for your time, I will update the thread again with pictures soon.

  4. Music has been a huge part of my upbringing from a very young age, be it starting with my days in the grade school church choir and listening to 80's R&B and Soul.  My parents listened almost exclusively to oldies music, but my dad was also a fan of early prog like Pink Floyd, YES, and Rush.  Used to really dig hanging out in the basement with my dad, black lights and incense rolling pretty heavily to any Floyd album of our choice...    And then my cousin took me to my first heavy metal concert in the 6th grade, and my life was pretty much changed 180 degrees.  I still listen to classic R&B and soul from time to time, but ever since that summer my heart has belonged to the heavy stuff...

Ever since high school I have been pretty deep into the Scandinavian metal, listening to classics like At the Gates, Hellhammer, Dark Tranquility, etc.  My interests are all over the extreme scenes, and I listen to Black metal, Death metal, and everything in between.  However I still lean mostly towards the progressive bands in these areas, harkening back to the days spent listening to Floyd and Rush in the basement with dad...  My favorite band of all time is Opeth, and I just love the way that they can hover between extreme death metal and manage to make their way to a 70's prog sound, then back to modern death again.  Metal for life, eh?

At the gates and Dark Tranquillity are both incredible bands, those Scandinavians sure know how to rock!

Absolutely mate, Metal for life! :punk:

Im just rocking out to Whitechapel's new album while making a strap for a customer, lifes good!

  5. Massive metal fan here too. My tastes have changed over the years, my first love was Black Sabbath and Metallica, then I moved into heavier harcore stuff like As I Lay Dying, Parkway Drive, All Shall Perish and Unearth etc.

Now I enjoy most heavy music but am really into interesting (some would say obscure and weird!) stuff from the likes of Finntroll, Alestorm and Amon Amarth. My favorite band of all time has to be In Flames, they have gone off the boil a bit recently but the early stuff is mind blowing.

    Rock on fellas! :tu:
