  1. Im talking about the désigne of the movement parts not the eta nor the case itself. Very different in my opinion. I guess I just have fascination at looking at movement rather than the watch itself Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
  2. Hi Guys, Since i'm not a premium member yet... and thinking of it to be honest, i can't make a post on the buy and sell Straps forum. I hope no one gets mad at me making this post. So i've found some really interesting strap makers but to be honest some of the most awesome ones are just out of my budget... (looking to pay between 40-100$) This is what im trying to find Strap size : 22mm length 120/70 or at the most 125/75 Leather (orangy brownish) Rough look to it not smooth and perfect Holes : preferably recangular but won't mind circular Pre-V buckle Titanium or Brushed Stitching : either black or Red (red seconds kneedle on the watch) Side of the strap must be blackish (ruberized or just blackened i'm a noob at straps...) Shipping to Canada This is the watch it is going on (yes i know its a shame its a quartz movement and the seconds hand isnt smoth.. but im in love ) The original idea was from SNPR9696's exact same watch but i don't want to seem to be copying the same strap. I hope he will forgive me. And although he was very nice to send me a link to his strap website its just a little too expensive for my budget atm (not working until january) This is a link to SNPR9696's victorinox which is my inspiration (ty for making me find this beautifull piece) 5th picture down http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/146257-my-latest-work/ Thanks everyone! i'm hoping to post some pictures when completed. 3. well my first first watch ever was a buggle boy i believe? something like that.. anyways i didnt fancy watches and never could have one on the wrist till this year. Only crazy people never change their mind
  4. Hi everyone I've been on the forums for almost a year now, i've read a lot of your threads, i'm getting to know the guys well without anyone knowing who i am but that doesnt matter. Anyhow, i've never really worn watches untill early this year (2013) i don't know what struc me but ever since i must spend about 4-10 hours a day looking at watches, staring at mechanism, movements that facinate me, triple axis tourbillons to replicas that have almost 100% the same movement as GENS. So everytime my wife comes downstairs to the computer room, she finds me sitting starring at watches, 20 tabs opened in the browser, meticulously comparing reps to gens and trying to figure which one will be my new favorite. And she just can't believe ive been contemplating the same watches for over a year LOL. (neither can i to be honest.. time fliesssss lol) Unfortunately at 500$ a piece its not like i can get 1 every month. I also made the mistake of buying my first watches around 100$ a piece and found them to be pretty cheap and almost gave up on reps untill my first quality rep (graham oversize chronofighter carbon) id put some pics up but.... the top reset button fell appart (which makes me want to cry to be honest) 1st rep : U_boat 1001 : disapointed the mechanism broke after 2 days... it won't really wind (maybe i over wind it.. who knows) about 130$ 2nd rep : Hublot Big bang all black with see through glass at the back for the movement (definately the watch i wear the most since my graham is not in service) about 150$ 3rd rep : Audemars Piguet (bad rep can'T wear it.. keep noticing the fakeness) +/- 140$ 4th rep : Graham oversized Chronofighter carbon V3 (my favorite watch and the one that made me believe reps are worth it!) +/- 350$ Now that i've started to realise what a real rep should be, i have a list of about 10 i reallllly want in the next year i've also started to admire custom made straps and i am amazed at some people's work! (love stingray, ostrich, thick calf leather, shark, and elephant (although wife says im not aloud to get the elephant If anyone else has a wife wondering how brain washed her husband is at looking over and over at watches please feel free to comment! ohh... not to mention everytime i pass by the mont blanc store we have around my place (its the only decent store ) Here's a list of my next watches i have in mind 1 . Hublot Diver 4000m (i'm scared i won't wear it cause of the size and thickness... my wrist is a 6.5) 2. AP Royal Oak 15400 (black dial) love the accurate movement 3. Hublot Big Bang (like the one i have but SS and high quality) 4. Panerai 312 (i'm still trying to figure out which is the right pan for me) 5. Panerai 305 submersible diver (with neon strap to make it more *divey* 6. U_boat Flightdeck 50mm (ss and white) 7. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver 8. Mont Blanc Time Walker 9. Patek Philippe Nautilus 10. Hublot Ferrari Limited Ed 11. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chrono @ 12 There are many more but this will do for a year or 2 LOL Oh If by any chance some of you fans could give me some of your top choices for my new collection including the following criteria, i would be very happy to take a look at them and make some place into my collection 1. Although most of the watches i listed don't have see through backs i do enjoy very much fine detailed see through movements 2. Also i am trying to find a PAM with movement at the back (preferably autowind not hand wind) with the most accurate movement (so far 312 is my favorite) 3. I haven't found my interest in rolex yet... but i'm sure it will come with time. (no hard feelings for the rolex lovers) Hope to get to talk to you all Iyan The french Canadian
  5. my boss has this GEN EBEL, and i thought it was beautifull, i was about to purchase a rep untill i saw the movements... UGHHHHHH they are sooooooo not close to the original... thus, i think its an AWESOME watch but the rep is really not anywhere near the real deal ill stick to pan, hublot, and a couple others out there that have very meticulous movements oh and special feature.. i loveeee the vanila scented ruber... damn those GENS does anyone know of any reps with scented ruber? or im guessing you just buy the real band... cheers
  6. i love it, and i especially love the sub buckle you added. I've been thinking of this one for a while, but my list is still long and 500$ a replica isnt too easy to grow Cheers
  7. thank you for the welcome! this is notttt an easy task to find.. most of the uboat i found dont have the 2nd push button (although only for looks it doesnt do anything) im trying to find as realist as possible.. sigh i think ive been trying to decide between 3 same watches for 3 hours now LOL what about cute looking watch cases /displays or caryers anyone got an idea?

  9. Hey guys, I'm new here. i was wondering.. is there like a secret guide to sizes depending on your wrist size? i have very small wrists (i can circle with my fingers my wrists) i took a string wrapped around and i think im roughly a bit bigger than 6.5'' i was looking to buy a U-boat 50mm will i look rediculous in my work suit and that huge thing on my tiny wrist? or will it look like i have guts and outgoing? thanks!
  10. so hello everyone, i am new to the website. i have browsed a lot in the past day (i think ive spent over 20 hours straight watch shopping and reading about watches) my girlfriend things im going nuts and can't stand me anymore LOL and i have a feeling many of you went through this as well in your begginings! Anyways, the reason of my post is simple... the trusted dealer link are mostly already outdated (closed websites) and i am REALLY desperately searching for specific trims on the watches im looking at. i was wondering if anyone could help out on this or just rederict a link would help me TONS! i was also looking for watch boxes / display for my futur watch collection (when i start something i am really obsessif and extreme) the watch im looking at right now is a U-Boat 1001 with precise trims that i cannot find in our trusted dealers (the little that work or that i found here) Criteria : A : the OUTSIDE of watch i want it to be dark grey (not black not silveR) B : RUBBER BAND not leather C : U1001 in white or silver or grey and the other markers blue (baby blue or dark blue) believe it or not its either A and C and leather OR B and C and outside is DARK BLACK etc etc if anyone could help, you would be my savior i hope i will be able to show my futur watch collection, wrist size with pictures and much more. Iyan Goodrow Wrist size : about 6.5'' Male 28 years old Canada Quebec
