I've got a lot of gen cases and movements, and the ETA movements don't always work well in the gen cases.
As an example: Whoopy's dial project is cranking out some awesome dials that are damn-close to gen. But they have eta feet.
-
I'm working on a jig to do this myself. I have a few gen dials, and a few ETA that I can use to see if I get the positioning right.

Looks great. How did he doing matching the gen lume on dial with hands??
The hand lume is a tad 'off' but you only notice it after the lume starts to fade a bit. I'm not sure if he touched it at all. I was thinking about "turbo charging" it myself, but I'm going to hold off. I have a few people interested in buying the watch from me already. I'll let one of them monkey with it. :-)
Overall, I'm real pleased with how it came out. I was thinking of keeping it, but I really don't need 3 Franken-ROOs. Heck, I may not even need 2.

I just hope I get a refund. Paid 130€ to overnight it...on Tuesday.

I think the issue I'm going to have is the lugs may not fit. They haven't shipped yet, so I may cancel the order all together.
The ONLY thing that bugs me about the watch: No lume! I didn't realize how often I look at my watch in low light.

This is none of my concern really, but if PM'ing customers is such a full time job, posting one topic on this forum would take 2 minutes and alleviate 90% of the anxiety that going silent has caused.
Like this one...last week?

Andrew tells me I'll have mine by the end of the month. Not sure if I believe him, but I really don't have a choice.

Very nice, ap bands has those links you need!
Funny...I just ordered lugs and another strap. For what it cost, I could have absolutely bought another rep ROO from TT, and pitched the watch!
-
What do you mean though - the only one you can put on your wrist OP?
Domi has one, and the other is in pieces in my basement on the watch-table. I've got all the PIECES...but need to move the crown position before I can re-assemble the thing.
BUT....I just received word that Domi shipped my White Themes, so that's pretty great! ::: excited! :::

I just discovered this tip last week: Throw a ziplock bag over the lot and remove the hands with the presto-thing like normal. (Like a giant rubber for the face.)
Protects the hands and dial real well. Also keeps the hands from springing across the room.

Love it!
I have a lot of vintage glass I use on my Leica M Monochrom. Takes the pics to a whole different level.

Wanna sell bracelet? Will it fit a genuine Panda ?
BTW congrats!
Mine is on the sing f1 strap. It's prob my overall fav piece, and i have some serious ap's in the collection!
I'd sell it in a sec. PM me, but I'm not sure it'll fit.
I'm looking for a strap exactly like yours! Gotta find lugs though...that's what I'm missing to make my rubber work.

Finding gen hands for a Panda may be as easy as getting a real Panda from the pet store! I'll keep a look out though.

The fact that you care this deeply about it speaks volumes to your reputation as "he who makes the best sub".
Keep at it...but I think you're hitting the wall on the "law of diminishing returns".

This is a seriously great post. My only complaint is that the gen clasp wasn't marked with a small sticker or something. It's tough to tell (which is the point) but to really get an idea of which is which, it would be helpful.
Again. Great post. Thanks so much.
I have the V4, but not a V3 to compare to. I think it's spectacular.

I wish he'd ship them out a little faster!

First good pics of this watch I've seen on any site. Now I'm wishing mine was here.

Good call guys! I didn't realize I put the gen on my 1655 and the rep on this one. I had 3 of them on the bench last night trying to find the right end-link/bracelet combo. Guess I don't know how to tell them apart as well as I thought!
I bought the gen bracelet off if VRM last week, and I'm quite certain it's legit. I'll take better pics when I get home. (Now I'm curious what the tells are!)
All-in-all, I'm much happier with this bracelet than the other. You're right...really completed the watch nicely.

So I may have spoken too soon...
I think I have a couple of bracelets mixed up. One fits the 2mm bars, and one doesn't. I'll have to see which is which. You may be right though.

Yup. The center link fits 2mm just fine. Just swapped out the end links and I was in business.
