No, I just used different end-links. the ones the bracelet came with didn't work for 2mm bars, and I found a set that fit better anyway.
I've had mixed luck opening up the links. Sometimes it works...sometimes you break them. ;-)
-
Already have a dial located...just waiting on pics. :-)
-
I agree 100%. I have another folded-link bracelet that I'd ordered for it, but it hasn't come in yet. The Yuki that I have now is honestly just a placeholder until I get something better. There's a gen bracelet that I may rotate off of another watch later this week too.
It's a process...never really "done" until it's...well...done!
(I'll take better pics tonight...I left all my cameras at work!)

Great build. That Yuki dial is a huge improvement over what they were selling not too long ago.
Completely agree. I was honestly stunned. I bought it to hold me over until Whoop is done with his, but I may just use that one for my brother's build.
I have a gilt dial coming from Ingod. I hope that one is nice too.

Yeah, I'm real pleased. I made one for my brother a while back, and after this one, I think in going to re-make his.

Gen 16000 case.
Gen1560 Butterfly from a 1014
Gen hand set from a 5513
Gen crown/tube
Yuki Dial
Yuki 20mm Solid Link bracelet
Clark Crystal
JMW Bezel
Re-lumed the hands to match the dial when it came in today. Worked the bracelet quite a bit too.
I still need to drill out the lugs, but I'm waiting on the right bit, so when that arrives, I'll be all set.
Viola!
First build I did everything on, without sending off to MD2020 to fix one of my screw-ups. :-)

Ahhh...I gotcha. Sorry. I'm a little daft today.

If you're going that far with the TC parts...why not just buy his watch, and then mod over time.
May be a less expensive route, and you'll end up with a fantastic starting-point.
...just a thought...

I'd watch eBay for a gen movement and hands. Unless you're buying TCs hands, (and replacing the cannon pinion) I've not seen rep hands that look all that great.
If you take your time and have a lot of patience, it pays off in spades. You're not talking about that complicated of a build and there are a lot of people that have done it before.
Good luck!

I texted with Mike a couple of days ago. A death in your family will certainly put things in perspective.

So I've got a gen 1014 with a 1560 movement. I had an idea yesterday to maybe make a gold 1016 out of it. The 1014 case is nearly identical to the 1016, but gold capped.
With a gilt 1016 dial, it could look pretty cool. So the question is...
Was there ever a gold 1016?

What's with the 28th as date for all the watches? Even my QC pics have 28th.
I was thinking the same thing. Everyone's QC pics have the 28th as the date.

Can't wait.....Can't wait.....Can't wait.....Can't wait.....Can't wait.....Can't wait.....Can't wait.....

I was thinking about taking a chance...but I have better things to work on right now.
...and I already have too many watches. I need another gen like I need a hole in my head.

I think that watch is a scam.

Same watch. Same email.
She wrote me back.
The Vintage 1978 Rolex 1675 GMT Master with Pepsi Bezel is still for sale, it has no problems at all . My asking price is $2,500. Probably it deserves more, but I'm asking this price because I'm forced to sell it quickly , I have a paralysis at the vocal chords and can not speak, if I treat at time I can regain my voice! This watch was my son's , he loved it very much, but he passed away 1 year ago. I don't want to sell it, but I must do that and I know he would also agreed with me.If you're still interested please let me know.
Thanks!
Bryanna
I smell a scam...

It is now. I hadn't reset it properly when I centered the chrono sweeper.

The spring-bars included in mine worked perfectly.

I'm interested in what the weight of these watches is like. CF should be wicked-light.
-
Haha hustling those vintage GMTs! There is no hiding from you. When you open up a GMT shop let us know so we can by some
Yeah, I know....but I've got a lot of spares, and I'm getting good at working the cases and movements. So until I find something else...that's what I'm working on. 1675s all the way!
