  1. As a Diver myself, I wouldn't wear the AP while diving... I think I'm just this classic Submariner/DS kind of guy. The Diver is great and I personally love the Carbon and the rubber strap! Although, the Bumblebee is AMAZING! And I actually sold my Diver for the Bumblebee and loved it! The feel is just amazing and gen like, the diver is great but the BB is wow! 2. Dear Ezio, on my Insta I would say approximately 80% are gens, and I know you can spot them the reps just happen to be part of great backgrounds/pics. Reps on Insta: GMT, Sub & Pam292... Gens: Datejust, 2x Daytonas, AP, 2x Presidentials, a couple of Subs, Cartier, Omega's etc. etc... Not to be ballin' but yeah... I have an interest in reps, but gens are my true passion (if I only had enough dough though)... Ps. I forgot that I use the same Alias here and there, should totally change.. 6. Thank you for your reply ww12345, I've obtained the paint and everything although my watchmaker couldn't get the ring out (?) I will try myself when I've acquired my tools! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. How come I can't see my thread? :S How come I can't see my thread? :S
  8. Looking for the same! Doesn't any repdealer make the thicker version pictured below? http://rubberb.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/product_full/option-images/v_3_3.jpg EliasAntoine
  9. The text itself cculd be red as rhe ring, I'm more focused on the inner-ring's color and what to use etc.! Thank you, EliasAntoine
  10. Thanks for the replies! Disassembling the watch wouldn't be a problem, right? Is Enamel paint the paint to use or should I choose something else (I'd preferably have a matte finish)? Was really thinking of painting the second-hand also but haven't made up my mind yet! Do you think the extra layer paint will me a problem while re-assembling the watch?? Thanks! Yours truly, EliasAntoine
  11. Dear RWG readers, I have recently purchased a PVD Deep Sea from Andrew. I was thinking about painting the inner-ring red as in the Black Out pictured below... Any ideas of paint and method? Thank you! Yours truly, EliasAntoine
  12. Sorry guys, I was referring to the Tudor snowflake hands (correct naming?) vs. the "mercedes" submariner hands! I truly love the Swords on the 5517 and one of the reasons I would like one
  13. Now this is a real beauty! I personally am not a fan of the "diamond" style hour hand so this fits perfectly my taste My dream would be to search for really good and affordable gen parts but I think I'll keep that for my future franken mods, but of course if I find something that is pretty investable I would not want to let it pass unnoticed! This is true eyecandy and the Omega hands fitted perfectly Yours, EliasAntoine
  14. Thank you all for the replies! Hmm, in that case I'll skip the Yuki case until I'll eventually start a Franken project! What 5517 case should be recomended? Yours truly EliasAntoine
  15. Dear RWG members As I am relatively new to the forum and vintage watches/modding/franken I have come to the conclusion that meanwhile as I am searching for a investable 1675 or 5508 I would have to start of small in modding and such by putting together parts/mod an all rep 5517 Military Submarine, but I would need your help of course. As it should be all rep, then the price shouldn't be too juicy either, my goal is to keep the cost low (but not too low ofcourse) and the quality as genlooking as possible. I was thinking that the Case could be obtained from Yuki with a slight mod to the crystal. The dial/hands is still discussable as have not really made up my mind from wear to get it and the movement would most probably be an ETA 2824. I was thinking of agin the dial/hands and bezel myself. What do you guys think? What would be most preferable to achieve what I am looking for? Thank you very much lads! Yours Truly, EliasAntoine
  16. Thank you all for your comments!! I am learning new stuff all the time and getting really thrilled An all gen watch would be preferable and I would love me a 1675 or older sub/sd unfortunately I can only find gens which are too expensive and would not be an investment unfortunately. Now for the building of a watch... I love it how you all are full of education and information on the topics and wish to achieve the same, I am learning a lot from you and the forum yet there are a whole lot of things one need to get more knowledge of like what fits with what, which is preferable to this and that and whom to ask when in need  Yours truly EliasAntoine
  17. Thank you all for the replies, they're much appreciated! As a student working two jobs I have managed to save some money up, I just paid of my twotoned Daytona and I am eager to start a new project, either a 1675 or 5508, 5510 preferably a pre 5512-13! An older SD is also of interest I would prefer to have an all gen or myself assemble a franken, but not to much of a rep. My "dream" sub would be a 365 gen dial/hands w/ gen bezel, T19 Service dome (Aftermarket) and gen movement, of course this could differ! My budget is apprx. 3000 usd! I am relatively new to the Vintage market and would like to see my hobby not only as a hobby I love but also a postgraduation investment in myself! Yours truly, EliasAntoine.

  20. Dear readers on RWG! I am in a pursuit of a vintage Sub and have stumbled on a seller whom is selling a 5510 which appear to be franken, the seller states that that the case have been replaced with a "high quality" one... What should be a common pricerange for a 5510 w/ franken case in rather good condition? Thank you, Youra truly, Elias.
  21. Hi all! A short presentation of me: An early twenties luxury watch-enthusiast residing in Stockholm, Sweden. I have a special love for Rolex and my current collection consists of a Daytona 116523 (Gold/Steel) with black diamond dial and a Datejust 16220 Blue Dial I haven't been active in any forum so this is my first and some questions follow that I'd love to be answered! They mostly consider the lingual discourse of this particular community (If there is a thread for this purpose then that would be ideal!) Of course I do understand shortenings such as: Mod. But what is the differences between Franken and Gen for example? And as I joined this forum to fully broaden my knowledge of vintage watches and restoration, could someone just explain the existence of China movement (such as DG3804B) within resoration and such, are they meant to be some sort of a complitary movement or what? oO, Sorry if I appear to be the noob of the noobs, but be patient with me! I learn quickly Enjoy your weekend! EliasAntoine
