  1. I agree with mstan83. Dress watches traditionally have leather straps. I have an unhealthy obsession with rolex submariners but for the most part I wear a leather strap watch. I usually alternate between Tissot and Baume and Mercier. I work in the investment world so if I wore a fake patek I would probably get called out in a second. Sometimes I wear my Panerai on Leather strap.

That said, the cartier tank is pretty nice and I see a lot of guys wearing them with suits, so i think thats a pretty great choice.

  2. I milled the rep crown from both sides to make it appear thinner the watch on the right has the same crown width it looks thinner but was not shortened just tappered on the inside and a little taken off the front edge.

sorry not a very clear photo it was done on a lathe but i think some members have used a drill and a file.

Hey where'd you get these reps??

  3. Yuki just responded....$600 bucks! damn idk why i thought it would be in the 200-300 range. I am going to buy a 1680 rep and if I am not happy with the crown guards and crown I will prob pull the trigger and buy the case from Yuki, but damn, wish it was less expensive.

Also...Yuki says there is a 25 day production time per my order? I would have thought these would be premade...

  4. Wowwww, Phong case looks beautiful, pointed crown guards look good, but I sure as hell don't want to spend $1,250 for a case. I am going to reach out to Yuki but not sure how those crown guards look from the pics....Do you know if Yuki is friendly to us rep guys? I want to ask if an Asian or Swiss ETA 2836 Auto movement would fit the case....

I am wondering if I can take the case and crown of this version above, and combine it with the bezel, crystal dial, bracelet and etc of the one we are discussing: http://www.ttw888.co...roducts_id=7091

Is this possible??? I am guessing the longer and more pointed crown guards and crown of the first model will really add to the Gen look. ....

  6. That's a beauty but it has notoriously stubby crown guards. The trick is to thin the crown to give it the profile of a 702. Then you'll have a beautiful starter Sub. A few guys here have written about the process.

Thanks Nanuq, Yeah thats what I thought, thought the crown guard were too stubby. I will have to look into how to think the crown guards. I'll try to find how to do this

  7. Hey All, Happy Thanksgiving! I am closing in on my next rep purchase..currently looking at a Rolex 1680 Red Sub from Trusty. Link Here:

I have analyzed it and was wondering, since 99.99 % of you have more knowledge than I do in this area, I was hoping you all could critic the flaws so I know what I am getting myself into...

  8. I'm confused...I took a look at all links and I don't see a silver date wheel on any of the pictures....

  9. Check out the trusted dealers. Go to the Main RWG forum page and scroll to the bottom to find the Trusted Dealer section. I am new here also and had to be directed there myself. Check if Trusty Time. www.ttw888.com has the watch you are looking for. I've ordered from him and it was the best service and quality i have received for a while on any purchase watch or otherwise.

  10. Hello all,

I understand this must be a variation on the classic " Best Sub" Question, however, I am trying to find a good, if not the best out there, Rolex Red Sub, Vintage 1680. Have any of you had any luck? Any suggestions or direction would be a huge help.

Btw, I am noticing a big flaw on some are the silver/metallic date roll....weird...so I am trying to avoid that.

    Thanks all in advance!
