  1. I am not sure that he was really accepting or not. He thought it was a gen and then got a little hesitant after I told him it wasn't. He's a little neighborhood jeweller with low-end stuff so I don't think he is pulling in big cash so any job is a good job.
  2. Confirmed at local watch repair that the pinion is bent. He is going to try and find a replacement part and let me know, and he said to bring him everything an he would put it back together, lol
  3. Thanks ceejay, sounds exactly like the issue. Checking is still beyond my willingness to dive in to see if is out of place or broken. Will let the watch repair check it out. Damn 3777, just been bad luck all around. May be shopping around for a new balance wheel or whole new A7750. Wish I could replace it with a Sea-Gull or Miyota
  4. This sort of worked. After taking off the balance wheel and trying the hack, it looked like it was extending and retracting OK. Took a while to get the balance wheel back in the pivot properly with the impulse pallet in the fork properly too. Takes a few tries but get it and things appear to be somewhat functional. Turning the movement over causes it to stop. Sometimes in the vertical position, sometimes when flipped right over (dial side up). Most of the time just giving the balance wheel a nudge starts is again, but other times it seems jammed. I am guessing at this point that the pivot or shock absorber is at fault and beyond my means to repair. I am going to take it around to the neighborhood watch repair guy to see if he can do anything.
  5. Excuse the rant, but I need to vent. My 3777 is cursed. I love the watch and it is (was?) my favorite of my collection but I have had pretty much zero luck with it First, I wanted a bracelet to replace the weak rep strap. Picked one up M2M but the micro adjust slipped (fully disclosed). Get it put on, looks great. Decide to try and see if I can fix the micro-adjust with some shims because it has too much play in the grooves so the teeth won't engage, when I see that after a only a short time on the watch, one of the clasp release buttons has fallen off. OK I will just pick up a nicer strap (timepiecerepublic), and maybe a rep deployant (M2M). Get both in the mail the same day, all good so far. Figure I should do the button pusher fix while the strap is off. Takes longer than expected, because the tiny O-rings keep popping out. Get it back together, seems to be working OK, chrono works, resets. Case the movement, caseback is a [censored] to get on. Put the strap on with the deployant and the clasp won't stay snapped shut. The clasp is just too loose, can't do anything about it. Sigh, strike two. Back tang clasp Final straw, after about 45minutes, look at the time, and it's stopped running. WTF, it was wound properly. Take the [censored] of a caseback off, check the stem, can set the time, date, but no chrono, not running. Gently tap the balance wheel, not moving. Looks like the hack lever is jammed. Strike three Damn, the one watch I didn't want to screw up ends up being screwed by trying to prevent the damn chrono pusher from coming off.
  6. Crap, crap, crap. This just happened to me when I decased the movement to loctite the pushers on my relatively new 3777. This was the one watch I didn't want f*cked up by losing a pusher button and now it is not running. Exact same symptoms, balance wheels won't rotate with the stem pushed in. Guess I'll give this fix a go, if I can't get it working again, then a new movement from cousinsuk, or maybe cut my losses and move on.....
  7. After spending time over at WUS, I am amazed at both the number of sub - $1K watches brands. I especially like the Deep Blue line, http://deepbluewatches.com/ I also didn't realize how "inexpensive" some used gens go for, less than say $3K. Still probably more than I would want to pay but not out of reach
  8. Interested, like to see the price.
  9. where did you source a gen dial? The 3777 is already a pretty sweet watch, but with a gen dial it would be awesome
  10. Welcome to the forums KLD :)
