  1. Hi folks,

As many will know my father passed away 5 months ago but although I grieved like one would expect it was not the reason for why I went missing.

There is in fact a couple of reasons and the first was based on a fight for my fathers estate, unfortunately my dad fell prey to an evil and conniving woman who positioned herself firstly as a family friend and then his sole carer and finally, without an family knowledge, married him when he had less than a year left to live and of course she made sure to walk of with all of my fathers assets, approx 1/2 a million dollars.

The fight to try and get some of this money back has been long and basically pointless as my father was her 5th marriage so she already knew all the tricks and she also had a dodgy lawyer helping her. We have in Australia a law called Elder Abuse which on paper is supposed to stop this exact thing but in practice relies on the relatives being able to prove that my father was manipulated, an impossible task! It was also not a case of contesting the will because she made sure my father gifted everything to her except 6k in shares that I get to split with my brother.

Sorry for that rant but I had to get it out of my system...

The other reason I went missing is that I seriously had come to a point where I wanted to wind down Bergies as recent years the job had just become too hard, far too many minor complaints and buyers remorse with the constant threat of PP disputes meant that what I built up for a dozen years as a labour of love was being pulled down by unrealistic buyers who demanded more from soft goods than they do of our watches.

It is very hard to wind down a business like this without screwing someone over because there is usually always outstanding orders but more importantly issues that need to be fixed. As luck would have it I hit a happy medium where I actually had no outstanding work and decided to walk away.

    So what's changed?

    1. I miss this place but I know I could never just slot back in as a regular member, if I want to participate I need to open shop again.

    2. My Chinese sales rep (Cathy) who has been by my side for over 12 years is struggling and I owe it to her to try and bring in some revenue.

    3. I originally started the business 12 years ago because I saw our members getting screwed over by the very high mark up guys in the net and now they are happening on our forums, so I want to put the exact same products out there for a reasonable price and give our members a fair go again.

So starting now and continuing until at least after Christmas all Bergies goods, at the same old prices, will be offered with a 10% discount on orders over $300.

    Please a couple of conditions....

    1. Know what you are buying, look it up on the gen sites and make sure it is what you want because the moment you decide to make up a story to get it swapped I am losing money.

    2. Unless you are willing to pay for 1:1, true 1:1 not other sellers claims that everything they have is 1:1, then remember there is bound to be some kind of flaws if you look hard enough, just the same as our watches.

I have very many PM's to look through but I will start at the top and work down through the last couple of weeks, in anyone still wants to connect that is older than that please send me a new message.

Thank you for taking the time to read all this.

  2. Dad

He taught me how to face the world, he taught me to be strong,
That there was places I should never go and places I belong.
He taught me Earth has many beauties and all of them on show,
From her glittering sunny beaches to her driven Winter snow.

He taught me to watch out for my own, be gracious, true but mild,

To love my wife with all my heart and to love my only child.

He taught me to be a man, stand up for what is right,

That there are times to turn the other cheek and times you need to fight.
He taught me life will have an end and not to be too sad,

That he will always be part of me, he will always be my dad.

  3. For all my customers waiting for orders please accept my sincere apologies.

Sadly my father died suddenly last week and as you can imagine it has been  trying time for my family, as well all the organising for the funeral.

His service is on Tuesday, the day after tomorrow here, so I promise I will give everyone my full attention on Wednesday.

    Thank you for your understanding.

  4. "Because the topic was the political correctness stifles the ability of those who must take action to protect the populous from doing so"

No it wasn't, at least have the courtesy to read the opening post.

    Again back on topic...

Yes thoughts and prayers to all those affected by this atrocious evil event from Australia too.

    Ken

  5. How does that even come close to the topic we have here?

Of course your sprouting rubbish when you are throwing up stories like that in a thread about about terrorism in London, it is not even your thread so it is a complete hijack.

It would be akin to me discussing all the pedophiles within the Christian clergy...it is not part of this discussion, so take some advice and stay on topic.

    Ken

  6. @HaydenM I am also a centralist and I personally think you should stay on topic because that stuff you just sprouted is rubbish.

This discussion can only remain if it stays civil, we have very strict rules against political threads but we mods are allowing some levity here.

So back on topic, please explain how you believe deportation will work.

  7. I'm just waiting for someone to offer a solution short of another world war.

We have already had the 'Political Correctness' label thrown in, soon someone is bound to try the 'Liberal bleeding hearts' tag, but you know something...Left, right or center we all want this terrorism stopped by any means...that work.

There was 80 million civilian deaths in WW11 so no it is not a liberal bleeding heart that does not want to go there again.

Some points to remember there is 1.8 Billion Muslims in this world, nearly 50 countries that have a Muslim majority and one Muslim country that has Nuclear weapons and that is before we see which side communist countries will favour.

That is a war that will touch every corner of the earth, it is a war that will doom mankind, it is a war with no winners.

Make no mistake a terrorist is the scum of the earth no matter what colour their skin is or what religion he follows and yes we do need to meet it head on but we also need to remember that they are currently a motley crew that recruits kids to blow themselves up, don't let the political fear mongering turn the ugly dog into a fearful monster.

  8. Just a quick point on what I stated about home grown terrorist.

These are people that have been born in the countries they attack, some have roots to that country going back further than those calling for deportation.

So in fact you are not calling for the deportation of a few unsavoury types but in fact every single Muslim, in the UK that is about 3 million so no it is never going to happen.

For that fact alone the focus must be on trying to stop or reduce these attacks by other means.

I think that Theresa May has taken a step in the right direction by looking at shutting down the online networks used by these people to communicate and recruit, sure it's not eye for an eye stuff but start an all out war with the Muslim religion and the death toll is going to be thousands of times worse and that is not the world I want to leave my daughter.

    Ken

  9. That is the point though Mike, the majority of these attacks now are home grown terrorist so there is no real military way to stop them.

We need to get out of their countries, let them slaughter each other if need be but don't give them the excuse to continue these attacks in the west.

    Ken

  10. It's a sad sad world we live in now. :(

Unfortunately if there is one thing the Irish conflict taught us it's that there is no easy fix.

I still think everyone should just get out of the Middle East and let them sort their own problems.
