Hi everyone, I firstly must confess to being abit of a lurker on this board and rarely post topics. I prefer to try and find out the information i'm after by reading and then reading some more. I have so far gone for reps that have not required any mods such as the SOSF but I have set my heart on a 3717. I know from all the great info on this board that the main two mods required on this watch are AR coating but more importantly new date wheels. I have decided to go for it and order the watch and the date wheels. I have been looking on a UK site recommended on here but want to make sure i'm buying the correct thing! I returned to the AD that I visited before where I had been told that they needed to be given the serial number from the watch before ordering. This time I spoke to someone else and used the tactic of saying it was a present for my father. Anyway my question is will it come with the spring bars (or whatever they are called) or will I have to purchase them seperately. I was told the price is

Viper did you just simply purchase it with no questions asked by the A.D. When I did similar they asked for the serial number etc and lead me to believe they would only sell having seen the watch?!

Hi one and all, here is yet another steelfish topic!!! I have a black dial Steelfish from PT which I am extremely happy with and I want to get a black genuine strap for it. I approached an AD about ordering me one but they said they would need to see the watch to get the serial number from it so as to order the correct size, I am not willing to take the watch in for obvious reasons. If I knew what size then I could just go in there and tell them and order it straight off. If they won't have that and still insist on seeing the watch then I will try ebay or other means, anyhow I still need to know the size!! so can anyone help me out. Many thanks in advance. Nick

I got my SF the other day from PT (which I was very happy with) and needed the bracelet reducing. I took it into several local jewellers who said they couldn't do it because of the make and advised me to take it to the local AD down the road, something that I naturally didn't want to do so obviously they were fooled. Eventually I found a local jeweller who was able to adjust the strap. After speaking to him and him asking me about the watch I told him it was a rep and asked if he had realised. He said that he thought the bracelet was not a heavy as he would have expected of a gen. Any thoughts? Is the bracelet the weak point of this watch?
