  1. Hello guys

Today I'd like to make some pics-comparison between a Gen rubber strap for AP ROO 2014 Novelties (20mm clasp) and a JF (or J12) rep rubber strap.

Sometimes we we talk about correct DW position, correct crown position, wrong dial color, strong lume, etc...

But, seriously I don't think that the strap (leather or rubber) or the bracelet is not an important part of the watch. Many times it's the biggest tell in our reps, just my opinion.

Before the pics, I'd like to say HAT OFF FOR JF/J12

These made an awesome strap, maybe better than the Gen one.

So, check by yourself. Then try to find the differences, if any there are.

    Here we go

Did you find the Gen one?

    Now, check the back...

Found??? If you look close to the pics more than 5 sec to find it, you have to say JF made an awesome work.

The Rep strap has the endlinks & buckle.

    Pros of the Rep:

    - Softer than Gen

    - More comfortable than Gen

    - Fits better the case

    - Costs -6x the Gen

    Cons of the Rep:

    - A little bit less black than the Gen (the Gen matches better the black parts of the watch). But you notice that only if you're an AP hardcore guy like me.

NB: I don't know after 6 months if they will age differently like the Diver strap (now you see the differences between the Gen & Rep).

This is is how the Gen strap fits on my JF Doha case

The next pic shows why there's a little gap with the Gen strap

If you look closer to the pic, you'll notice that the position of the hole on the Gen strap is slightly upper than the Rep strap. That's why the JF rep strap fit better on the case.

NB: Don't install this Gen strap on a Noob case, it fits really, really bad. Gaps everywhere.

    Thanks for watching

  2. Hello Guys

After 3/4 long long months, I'm really really happy to present my Xmas gift. Maybe not the last one of my own gifts... Stay tuned ;)
    It's my new:

FRANKEN ROYAL OAK OFFSHORE WHITE THEMES

The Great watchmaker, the Best around here, Mr Domi did it the 1st time on a JF/J12 case.
And, it has the following features:

    Gen dial
    Gen tachymeter ring
    Gen hour & minute hands
Serviced Baume & Mercier movement with Dubois-Depraz module
Mickey's Gen-spec single side AR Xtal
    Domi's Gen-spec AR cyclope
    Edge's Gen-spec DW
    Thinner midcase
    Recessed crown position
    Thinner caseback
He built a movement's case holder (as the Gen),
    etc... etc... etc...

After this built, Domi told me the pros of the JF's case. This is what he said:
"It's a gorgeous case, they make a Gen-spec construction. No need to recut the screws (after thinning the mid-case and the caseback), no need to thin the bezel's gasket), no need to mod the Gen tachy & dial, etc..."

That's why he built that movement's case holder, same as the Gen.

So THANK YOU Domi for this UNIQUE piece you made for me.

I have also to say Thx to 3 great members and friends Daytona1984, Micasol & Guru for their assistance and support.

And a special Thx to Mickey and Edge for the parts they gave me to complete this awesome piece.

Thx for watching and reading... All comments are welcome ;)

PS: I put a creamy Safari tachy ring on it (not the silver one). And I really like it as is
