  1. I can almost guarantee you will be amazed........

    Hello all,

So I have been perusing this forum anonymously for about a month now in preparation of purchasing my first rep.  I knew beforehand that many reps are utter crap and that there had to be a community or two of people in the know who could point me in the right direction. Well, obviously, I found one, so thank you to all of you who spend your time making this such a great resource for noobs like myself.

Anyway, I, like many (*many*) others, was in search of a decent Sub-c rep.  It's not my typically style, so not a watch that I would pay sticker (or near sticker) for, but I do admire certain things about it and would like to have something with that look in my collection of gens.  After reading many reviews and all of the pinned topics here, I decided on a BP Sub-c Hulk from Andrew at Trusty Time.

The watch is paid for and on its way, but I just couldn't stand waiting for an answer to one thing; how do these feel in the hand?  Pictures can only say so much and, as we all know, one things that separates a well made watch from the cheaper variety is the weight and feeling of quality in the hand.  That can't be replicated without equal workmanship.

Now I'm not expecting a Sub-c clone of course, but for those of you who own this model, I would appreciate some feedback in this area.  In all of the reviews I have read I have not found much mentioned in direct regard to weight and feel.

  2. I almost always have to check my spam or junk folders when Andrew is sending my QC pics. No matter what I do, they always seem to end up there.

Is it a big deal? Only if you receive the watch and find a problem.

If the photo email is not in your spam/junk folder, I would email him asking why they weren't sent.

  3. X2!   Pics and a review would be most appreciated.   I have the LMPO 42mm and while the quality is amazing, it's just too small for my personal taste.   I don't see it getting much wrist time  and the 45mm might be a much better option for me.

Thanks for the follow up Smab. Great tip on avoiding the A2836 version. Those worthless clone of the clone movements are showing up more and more. I'd rather get the watch with an empty case and a little plastic baggy with crown/hands/datewheel than a COA2836.

I'm really puzzled as to why these haven't been talked about more. You're the only person I've heard from that even has it. How does the updated version with the corrected pearl stack up against the 42mm LMPO "super-rep" that everyone loves. It's odd that the 42mm LMPO wins rep of the year at RWI and the 45mm LMPO Ti get's nary a peep.

What are the odds you'd be willing to post some pics and a short review?

  4. Thanks Dovo --

You're absolutely right.   Do a search on Bronzo Patina and you'll see what some of us have done to our as far as forced aging.   It can give them such a unique look!   There are a number of methods to use, but all are quite easy.   Best of all, if you don't like the look, it's also easy to polish up, back to like-new!

That bronzo is growing on me by the day. The first time saw one, I thought "why would someone make a watch out of a spent shell casing"? Now I can't stop looking at them!

The bronzo is a bit like a bulldog in that way. The first time you see a bull-dog you think, "well that's a curious genetic dead-end". But after a couple of weeks, you find yourself buying them steak at the grocery store and letting them ride shotgun in your otherwise immaculate car. It's curious charisma, but irresistible nevertheless.

Fantastic watch. I wouldn't be able to take it off either!
