I see guys here investing several thousand in a vintage build or a überfranken©, but really are they worth it?

Worth it is not the point for many of these amazing builders.   The challenge of the build it what brings them satisfaction.   Rarely, does a super-franken sale seem to get the builder back what he sunk into it.

I marvel at the skills these guys have and am always left wondering why they would even consider selling them.   ;-)

  2. When I first started in this hobby, I also struggled with credit card payments.   It's the CC company that's stopping the payment, not Intime.   The CC companies are extremely wary about charges from China.   You should call them and let them know you will be making charges in China and that should fix the problem.

Once you gain some history with Ryan, I would suggest switching to PayPal.   I have used that method for a couple of years without a single hiccup.

  3. Close inspection of these high quality close-up photos ALWAYS generates a lot of angst, because every microscopic detail is revealed.   99% of the flaws you see in those pics will be invisible on your wrist and at a normal viewing distance.

I'd be willing to bet that real life close-up photos of the gen model would reveal a number of microscopic flaws as well.   Those gen photos you see in advertisements are most certainly photo-shopped to perfection.

If there are no glaring flaws, take the watch and I'll bet you'll be thrilled with the results.

  4. It'll be interesting to see if these same flaws carry over to the Blue version, if/when it is released.

    More interesting question:

If we stay away from these, will it send a strong enough message to the TD's and Manufacturers that quality, accuracy and price DO MATTER?   Or are we just a [censored]-hole in the snow of their business?

  5. I'm trying not to be a jerk here, but this question from newbs is one the gets a lot of forum members excited.    There is another thread right along side of yours ( http://rwg.cc/topic/184089-rep-sub ) that gives great guidance.    If you would take the time to do just  alittle bit of reading and research, all the information you need is right here.

Expecting everyone to hand you the information with no effort on your part, just turns people off.    Take a few days, read up in the various sub-forums here and you'll have no need to come back and ask "Who makes the best Sub?"........
