  1. Shipment TO the UK VIA Germany?

    Uh?

AFAIK UK customs are easier than German, so I can't see the point of doing this, unless you mean to Germany via the UK?

No mate, HK - UK (Via Germany?)

I'm puzzled over this too. The last delivery from TB came direct AFAIK??  :g:

No status updates as of now. I wonder if they have to reach a cargo quota before they load the plane? This is a 5 day express service too. I hope they get their backsides in gear but midweek will be within the time allocation so I'm not panicking just yet...

  2. my first shipment showed on hold at the same point later on the same or day or might have been the next it had moved to cleared and moved to next step on its journey. i wouldn't worry just yet

    good luck

    D.

Thanks mate, got a lot of cash tied up in that package!

  3. I've tracked my 5 day service from Toro to the facility in Germany en route to the UK and the latest 3 statuses are

    > Transferred through Leipzig - Germany 08:21

    > Departed facility in Leipzig - Germany 08:23

    > Shipment on hold 08:42

Should this be cause for concern guys? I've never seen 'on hold' before with anything I've tracked in the past?

    :g:

  4. Looks good but just my 2 cents I would take some scotch bright to the polish and smooth it out cause IMO it looks like it was freshly scratched. :) love the USED LV look tho. I have a TC LV and I do the same thing (minus scratches) I have an old beat up black ln insert that's faded and a NATO strap for camping or doing outdoors activities

Hi I agree I should have had cape cod delivered but they have been delayed so I made a start. The marring on the side of the case is just very light from emery paper. I'll flat it all out when they arrive and it should fade it. It's gotten rid of the cheap looking mirror finish though which looked suspect, I'll continue this week :-)

  5. Used screws, salt water and road grit and bleach on the strap with a little finishing with wet and dry and emery paper plus a liberal dose of sun which we have had today, these straps are bloody tough I've learnt.

Didn't want to scratch the bezel insert or crystal so taped it up before giving the head a swirl in drywall screws and finish with a few emery scuffs.

Looks far more rough and ready and convincing now. It was just too perfect and shiny before but looks loads better now in the flesh.i never thought I'd want to trash a rolex lol. Pics don't show much unfortunately.

  6. Hi Dusk,

in the end, by myself, I've finished to select the same one you linked to me :-D

Just an advise: TB offers the Noob POLM with ETA (+180$) and with "asian ETA" made by seagull (as he stated in a private mail)... I'm wondering if there's value for money for the original ETA or if it's a good idea to go for the asian one...

Do you have experience in this sense?

    Tnx, GenTLe

Great choice mate nice one! I've gone for the Asian movement personally. The Asian vs swiss debate is a long one and better people than me have talked about it. I'm also very new to this world :-)

Have a search around for comparisons but I think the Asian is mechanically fine. I believe the only issues with these movements is that the CQ is not as strict but nothing a service wort sort out!

Have a search on the subject and most of all enjoy your omega!

  7. First link won't work for me but second one is ok. The clear backs look amazing to me but the downside is that it's a clear indication that it's not genuine. Having said that I'm sure 99.99% of the worlds population won't know this anyway. For this reason the closed metal backs seem to be more favourable to rep guys as it looks more convincing when the movement is hidden. It depends what you want though as I doubt anyone will ask to hold the thing anyway and the back can't be seen when it's on your wrist!

If you like the planet ocean look you should consider the liquid metal planet ocean which was rep of the year 2013 and is seen as the current best planet ocean. http://www.torobravos2014.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=37_128_129&product_id=843

Good luck buddy! I have a liquid metal on its way ;-)

  8. Two Genuine "Rolex" Crowns 7 mm for Submariner. This a Genuine White Rolex Stainless Steel Crown 7mm. Original in Good condition.

    Rolex Watch Crown 703 Parts(7mm)

    Condition:used with lesser scratches

    Inside Diameter- 5.5mm

    Rolex SS Submariner ,16610, 16610T, 16610V,16800

  9. I bought this from Andrew for the mrs. Great watch with Swiss eta but the SEL doesn't sit under the bezel and has a tendency to rotate. I've replaced the slightly bent spring bar but it still does it. I don't want to return the watch and I don't really want to use epoxy. Any ideas what I can do to prevent it rotating?

    Cheers all!

  10. It's glorious, lovely stuff. And far too slick when your hands are greasy! Which, being a Land Rover owner, is always.

I've flirted with the whole SWB classic thing and it's something I will do in the future for sure. First though it has to be an E36 m3 and replica watches of course. Just about to move into a new house with a decent garage so autotrader will be getting a good hammering!

Fake rolexes and an m3, oh Jesus I've turned into Keith lemon lol

  11. Yeah try changing out a transfer case on a 60s Land Rover.  I've got two rollaround tool boxes full of God's Own Snapon tools, and nothing fits those BSF / BSC bolts and nuts.

Oh and the previous owner swapped in some SAE and some Metric.

    Hand me a pint!

    Hahaha

Oh and snap on... Mmmmmmmmmmmm I could spend a lot of cash on that stuff...

  12. It's very interesting and I really wish I had the mental capacity and time to learn. I used to be into various 'truth' theories and have studied a lot of things from obviously true to pretty far out there but in the end I wasn't gaining anything personally by trying to understand how twisted the world is so decided to expend my energies on earning money and my family and I am much happier now.

The zeitgeist series of films were quite an eyepoener

What this is leading to is the video that stuck in my mind about the federal reserve and how in fact we are all enslaved ultimately by money that is created from thin air with the purpose to keep us grafting paying into the messed up system that our toils have funded, like I say I'm not an economist and am prepared to be corrected but the monetary system does seem messed up but I guess ultimately it's a messed up system that seems to work. Buy a house and you work for the bank for 30 years plus interest to pay it off or that take your house or you slave for 30 years and they take your house :-/

  13. This is the one I bought

    $T2eC16NHJIIE9qTYI12jBRZ+TOeREg~~60_12.J

    It's great for the price.

The bottom row of winders can only take thin watches as they're close to the perspex front - thick watches actually touch the perspex as they are rotating (not a problem for the watch as metal and sapphire is harder than perspex)

It does make slight juddering noises as some of the "turrets" aren't perfectly central and at times touch the sides - I think just taking them out (they clip in and out easily) and putting some light grease around them will shut this up, but I'm half deaf so never hear it when sleeping :)

Looking good. I bet that's a sight to behold when full! I'll have a look on eBay tonight!
