  1. i guess i didnt really mean "beaten" badly but i like them to look as thoough they've been used daily. i agree it prob suits a sport watch better than a patek or something.. but there is nothing like an old sub or navitimer that looks like its had 20 or 30 years of service :) I guess i should have posted this in a diff area and not the rolex section. oh well im a rolex kind of guy anyways so its sorta the right area :)

I love when you guys build the old daytonas and sub/seadwellers and make them look vintage and worn. I cant wait to build my own!!

  2. One thing i dont like is a brand new out of the box unmarked shiny watch.. to me especially in the rep world it just SCREAMS fake. My ETA sub i wear daily is just beaten and dinged up and i LOVE it. My new Daytona i got is so clean and shiny i think that when i get home from work tonight i am gunna take a scuffy pad and a file to it :o

What do you guys prefer? New and shiny? or Old and beaten?

And then you weather your watch cases and bands, what methods do you prefer? I just use an sos pad and smack the case against the ground (concrete) or metal railings LOL... easy (take the movement out first though) hahaha

I love nothing more than a worn vintage watch because it has so much character and so many stories to tell.

If anyone has any pics of "damage" post them here!! I'll try to take some pics tonight and see how they turn out, but i warn you now.. i am a super noob when it comes to photographing watches :)

  3. i also get metal alergies. i agree to clean it really well..sometimes when my gen sub gets dirty from sweat and what not on hot days i get the rash.. cleaning the watch well always helps. I clean my jewellery in Mr.Clean and rubbing alcohol. im really sensative to metals but new quality reps dont bother me. I remember about 10 yrs ago having a day date gold replica and wow it just killed my wrist and i would get the worst rash but i wore it anyways!! haha.. nail polish was a good short term fix but wore off after a day or so and just left a nasty mess after a few applications...

  4. not sure if i like this model... to me it looks funny with the red on the dial there.. i dunno i kinda like the current model better, although its not avail in ss. I'd rather buy a super avenger.. after all what another 4mm when your already at 44mm. ha ha

Anyone have any pics of the caseback or bracelet/clasp on this new version?

  5. hello i am a new member!

i have been collecting replicas for about 9 yrs and just found this forum! wow its amazing how much GOOD info is here! i have only been a member a few weeks but i have spent about 30 hours reading all the links in the rolex and breitling sections. Now maybe i am blind but i CANNOT find a link to the website for these 1:1 MBW or WM rolexes. Can someone PM me with the website? I have looked at trustytime and wo-mart but i am looking for the best of the best vintage 1680 sub. I dont know why i cant find the website.

Recent watches (all my watches are all stainless no gold):

Breitling ETA 7750 chrono avenger :thumbsupsmileyanim:

    Swiss ETA stainless sub 16610

My next rep watches i want to get are:

    perfect 1680 red sub

    Sea-dweller with proper thicker case

1990's style daytona with seconds at 9 (reliability reasons)

breitling Navtimer GMT ETA 7750 or 1990's style Navtimer with pilot bracelet.

If anyone can help out the new guy it would be greatly appreciated. Please PM me

Sorry is this is a super-noob question but i just cant find the info

    thanks

    Lonnie

(no thats not me in my avitar haha)
