  1. I am interested in the 3717 if it is still for sale. However I am not interested in the box or the deployment clasp. What would your price be? I figure you could sell those for $70 combined so I would offer $150.

  2. I appologize if this has already been asked but can the Speedmaster co-ac with the date at 6 be repped with our current movements? I know it is is not pure to the original but I truly love the watch - I just prefer not to drop $4800 bones.
  3. MB - I agree with you on the frankens. I think that it must be the passion of doing it and the fun that comes with it because you cant justify the costs etc. Or having a 80% gen watch with fake parts. Still is fake. Especially used gens that cost only slightly more. I have done just about everything with this hobby. I have purchased Gen's at the AD. I have purchased from Jomashop and I have purchased used. I figure I have spent around $15,000 USD on reps. Yes that is not a typo and I bet if we all told the truth I am not even remotely in the stratosphere on this forum in what I have dropped on reps. U
  4. If you happen to go to GZ - I have gone for business in the past - I went to the watch shops but I did not find anything great and spent several hours. Since then I have just met Hont there as his office is at the market - you cant go wrong and you will get at nice discount for purchasing in person.
  5. Well I am probably in the minority here but I like the colored dial Ferrari watches. I have the Red one and I wear it to work almost every casual Friday. If you like Panny's that might be the way to go. While in the Bahamas I examined the yellow dialed one for quite some time - while this term is used alot on this forum and there are many contenders - the Ferrari line is so good it seems as there has been a midnight shift at the factory - the dial and case are so exact.
  6. Wow you are one lucky dog - that electric blue is amazing - I found this place long after the closed factory - my electric blue cost $1400 on Jomashop - yours looks great.
  7. Holiday bro - he should be back by Monday.
  8. Too good to be true buddy. A vintage VC in what appears near pristine condition for 1,000 euros. Run dont walk away.
  9. Let me save you some time - you did this in reverse which many or really all who start do - first pick your dealer then pick your watch. I suggest studying up on the dealers here and pick the one that suits you best. Basically you cant go wrong with any of the listed dealers here. What do you value more - better price, personal QC, customs etc.
  10. From personal experience with no help in GZ I spent several hours and got only a couple cheap Pannys $100 type watches. The next time I contacted Hont prior to going he sourced the watches met me at the market and I picked up dealer quality without having to search. I believe it is poor form on the boards to discuss pricing but general marketing would suggest that if you go to the source and purchase in quantity should should get a slight discount. Last trip I purchase - Tag Auqaracer chrono, 3717, Pam Ferrari Red chrono I do not remember the number, UPO with orange numerals, two BCE's - all great quality and I had pics to review prior to purchasing. I highly recommend Hont as he did a great job and he is in the watch market. So if you have extra time you can do some browsing - I would equate to a flea market after some work you might find some nice watches. But then again maybe not.
  11. Unfortunately the crowns on the UPO are notoriously poorly designed. I believe some members have swapped with gen crowns and basically had the same problems. The threads are on the inside of the crown tube and well you can imagine that they are easily stripped. Slowly unscrew - then when you line it back up I try to go backwards gently until it catches then screw the crown in. Otherwise you will have to replace the crown.
  12. You my friend are about 3 years late to this hobby - there used to be a closed factory edition of this watch that was good. This version does not match up - the dial is not very close in color at all. If you got lucky you could get this watch from sellers but you would pay about 60% of what a used gen would cost. I absolutely love this watch - I bought mine on jomashop - gray market about $1500.
  13. Better than I deserve. You must be a Dave Ramsey fan. [ quote name='USMC8404' date='Jul 15 2008, 04:24 AM' post='488207'] I am 40 with a 20 year horizon to full retirement as well. This is how my investments are divided: large us equity 50% small / mid us equity 20% international equity 30% I invest 15% of my gross income this way and have for the past 6 or 7 years. In spite of the recent down turn in the market and high energy prices my balance sheet remains in the black and is growing. If you have paid off all of your debt, and established a 3-6 month of expenses into an emergency fund then start investing 15% of your gross as I have shown you above. But remember the first consideration to building wealth is to pay off all of your debt! It does no good to pile money into any investment with 10-15% projected return if you are paying your creditors 15-23%. The borrower is always slave to the lender! Good luck, hope this helps. Cheers...
  14. You guys are making me feel old! I got mine from the University of Tennessee back in 1997. It was hard while I was going but it was worth it economically. Best Wishes!
  15. I have purchased 4 gens from Jomashop. They have great pricing - they offer a warranty through their store - good discounts - they are a grey market dealer so no papers but new with the serial numbers. I personally feel that this is the best way to go because I am concerned with the quality of used watches.
  16. I am the CFO of a seed company. Great topic!
  17. Great question - I actually am in the same boat - I have purchased the electric blue SMP - I think that it is a simply a georgous watch.
  18. I my experience Andrew will take take of the situation. It might take some time but he will fix it.
  19. I am in the same boat as you - I have threatened the chargeback against her and she is not responding. I am also very jealous of the members who have received their watches.
  20. Actually - no the He valve is in the correct position and the hands are the correct length and the pearl is not too bad either. All in all the pictures are excellent - the best rep I have seen. There are issues on the clasp. The blue version is great - by far the best rep of that model - I am not sure but the dial is maybe a shade too light but a great rep nonetheless.
  21. Same cruddy wrong He position, short hand terrible dial version others have received.
  22. I purchased the gen of this watch (the only gen I own in fact) because the reps were very poor of this watch. First let me state that I think that the pictures look great and this rep looks to be great and I wish I would have waited for this option. With that said - the dial on the gen looks different based on the angle and the light. I would state that the 9 o'clock marker is too big as the only glaring flaw. I assume that the bezel markers are in blue - they are blue on the gen not black. Also the dial seems to be very good - but it might be a shade too light. The pearl looks great for a rep - if Angela can soure I would buy in a heartbeat. I am waiting like many on my black version with my fingers crossed. If there are no complaints on the blue - I would HIGHLY recommend.
  23. Wow Stephane - you are a watch lover and you posted this email - I believe that I am in love. No chance you like American football?
