  1. @Kernow, how do I find the model number for the half link for the real watch if I have to buy it off ebay?
  2. @GenTLe thanks for the tip. Yes it's the 7753 Movement and quick set date. @Kernow Ok. I messaged Angus from here and I've yet to hear back. Seems any messages I send via email never get answered. The ones I message from here do, but not necessarily in a timely fashion. If he doesn't have one I'll trying getting a real one. I have a full CNC Machine shop so I'm sure I can modify, no problem.
  3. Not sure what the difference is, but I assume its new-ish. I mean still sunken date wheel but has the 28.8 beats movement. Let me know what you're referring to and then I'll know too.
  4. Ah. Yes and no. I do love the Navitimers, but I just got an Omega Seamaster Pro 44mm and if freakin' rocks. I love it.
  5. @Kernow, I emailed Pure Time and no response yet, but do you think this rep is close enough to the original that I could order a real half link and have it fit?
  6. @Pauly, if you do I don't thin you'll be disappoint. It is now my favorite watch.
  7. @Kernow, thanks for the help. I don't actually see a half link. I took one more link out and it was pretty tight so I put it back. It's not too bad, could be a scosh tighter, but it's not slipping all over the place so it's livable with. I posted pics of the clasp anyway; maybe you can see the half-ling, I mean half link, in it. Ok great, just wanted to be sure they were't supposed to screw down. Also found out Pure Time does test for and say you can use with watch to 20 meters. Pretty sweet. Honestly this rep is freakin' awesome. VERY VERY well made. It lets me look like I should, a daft [censored] ;-)
  8. Cool. I'll post some tomorrow. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Ok I just received my Omega Seamaster Pro 44mm with Ceramic Bezel from Pure Time. DAMMM nice watch. It came real quick about a week or so. This thing is beautiful. Not a flaw on it. Maybe the bezel doesn't exactly line up perfectly in the center, but I don't really care. I've seen videos that show you how to solve this in a couple of seconds. Other than that it's pretty sweet. Hope these pics do it justice. This might be my main watch from now on. A couple of questions though for the members out there. 1. The crown screws down, but do the chronometer function buttons screw down too; obviously they don't by trying to turn them, just wondering if they are supposed to. I have other chrono watches, gens, and they lock down. 2. I received a picture for QC that shows a water proof testing and a paper receipt in my shipment of the results. What should I gather from this as I thought reps are not supposed to be used in water as all? 3. Are there no fine adjustments to the watch band? I've taken out 2 links and it's still a bit loose for my taste, I like them tight. There doesn't seem to be fine positions on the clasp to move the band over with a spring pin?? There is one other hole but the band wouldn't fit cause the links are actually cut to fit in the clasp and they're not cut back far enough to reach the other hole. Other than that very satisfied.
  10. So this is my review of my first rep watch from Trusty Time. First off I’d like to say I used to be a machinist so I have a keen eye for detail. I still machine just not for work anymore. So being my first rep and having owned gen watches before, not this high end, but automatics non-the-less, I was prepared to be disappointed. The reason is the pictures people post on this forum. They look fantastic which always makes me weary that the item in real life is not as pretty. You can hide, or for that fact exaggerate, the look of something with photography. With that I received my watch today, Aug 8. First impressions, it needs a good cleaning with a microfiber towel, just some haze where the plastic was. In the HAND, not on the wrist, it feels a little cheap. Not weight wise but the way the SS bracelet feels. On a real watch I would imagine that it would move silky smooth. The weight is just right, not too heavy not too light. The bezel was a little rough at first but after moving it a few times it now works smooth. I wish the crown were a screw down type as it tends to pop out when I go into my pocket for something. It catches on my jeans. On my watch there were a couple of very tiny scratches, almost dings, on the part where the bracelet is attached. Not a big deal. Noticeable, but only if you’re looking. The blue stuff to protect the crown and stop watch buttons is hard to get off from in between the B for Breitling. Toothpick here I come. The main thing I was worried about is the crystal and the watch face, but both are very high quality and beautiful. I understand why people are bothered by the sunken date wheel. So that might be a mod in my future. The clasp is cheap and stamped stainless, but functional. Needed a little polishing. Now that I have a reference of what the watch looks like in person I’ll be better able to judge the QC pictures. So what are my overall impressions? Well this review might sound negative and honestly I’m not that anal about rep vs. gen accuracy, up to a point of course, but I’m more interested in the watches quality and that it look like it’s a high end watch. Well I’m very satisfied and have already ordered another watch. Different seller as TT doesn’t have the one I want. Pics and updates to follow.
  11. I like the mechanics of an Auto. Don't want quartz. Thanks though.
  12. @GenTLe, yeah no kidding. First thing when I get a new watch now is to open up the back and check it out. Yeah I was able to rotate the balance wheel and the screw came into view, like a conveyor belt and then I turned the watch over and it fell out. I was just weird that ALL 3 Movement to Case mount screws and tabs were out.
  13. I did. I've been reading for a while now. I actually was ready to pull the trigger like 6 months ago, but the websites I found were western union only and I said hell no to that. But then I found this website and the trusted dealers section. I just recieved my first watch a white face Brietling Navitimer World. Review to follow in the proper section. Watches I'm interested in, well the Navitimer has always been my fav. My problem is I have large wrists and smaller watches don't look so good on me. So finding larger watches is a bit hard. But I've found some I like, unfortunately they're not super reps. I honestly don't care too much about the exactness of the watch compared to a gen, up to a point of course. I'm more interested in the watch looking high end and the quality of it. I just ordered a 44mm Black Omega Seamaster Pro from Pure-Time. Can't wait. I've never been much of a Rolex guy, too small for me, but there are so many quality reps out there it's hard to resist. So if I can find one with a larger case size I might be interested in that. I'll inherit my dad's Rolex one day. He actually bought his in Switzerland in the 60's. It's two toned gold. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak is growing on me and I do like the Chopards. What I enjoy is case size and shape so Panerais don't do it for me. I like elegant but complicated watches, if that makes any sense. I love chronos so maybe a Tag Carrera?
  14. OK read the whole thread, very informative. Question though, numerous times in this thread people mention about the slide rule bezel not aligning. Does that mean the rotating bezel is supposed to have clicks. I just got my first Rep from Trusty Time a White Face Navitimer World and the bezel rotates smooth no clicks. So I'm just wondering.
  15. I ordered the black. I really, really want the blue. So I'll either build one from the black one I get or buy a gen.
  16. LOL thanks I appreciate it. I was kind of freaking out, hence all the posts. It was like 'i just got this dam thing and it doesn't work'. Trusty time gave me a $15 off coupon for my next order.
  17. IT'S Fixed. Wasn't too bad just working with small parts. Just rotated the wheel and the screw came into view and viola, fixed. So let's see if it stays running. Thank god I don't have to send it back. So I learned a few things, first never write a review the day you get the watch. This won't affect my review negatively as it's not the sellers fault and was just some loose screws. But it's best to let things set a while to make sure everything is running correctly. Also I was going to use a toothpick to get the blue protective film off the 'B' on the crown, but I got a thought from the tape I used to open the case back. I used it to get the majority of the film off.
  18. Wheeew, no, it's not fixed. I'm just relieved to know that it's not my fault. I thought maybe I wound it wrong. BUT I DIDN'T. I opened up the back and dam if 2 screws and 3 tabs fell out. The ones that hold the movement it. The third screw was bound up in the little wheel where the spring it. So let's see if I can get it out safely. Any help is still welcome. IT WASN'T MY FAULT!!! WOO HOO!! Still kind of ticked, no pun intended, I want to wear the dam thing.
