  1. Anyone knows any of our trusted dealers have this for sale? I have been finding but seems like its gone? Or anyone would like to sell his can contact me via PM. Thanks!
  2. I wished that was available! My project hands are actually for a Patek Ladies white Aquanaut. :-) Dun think the hands are easily available, unless.... contacts..... but that sounds impossible. :-(
  3. Airbrush sounds like cool.... The watch hands that I need to blackened is a Ladies Patek Aquanaut Luce (white dial). I have seen the gen in a boutique and the hands appears extremely dark chrome to me. Anyone wishes to try this project? ;-p
  4. Hello folks, I have a set of hands that needs to be "blacken" and they are in steel color. The original hands from the gen looks like almost jet black and at certain angles, the hands will show some gloss and appears almost metallic. I am not sure what process I can try... anyone has done this before and has any suggestion? Many thanks for helping!
  5. I am looking for a rep for the Patek ladies Aquanaut in white (with diamonds bezel like the gen) or the Twenty Four (both Quartz). I am looking for a dealer for either the two of them (preferably the Aquanaut though). Any comments for the rep model? (pros and cons, noticed that the Twenty Four has a shorter minute hand VS the gen) And which of our dealers carry the best rep for them? (recommendation please) Thanks a great deal!
  6. I "third" that..... <_< Especially when you mentioned that your watchmaker is not too exactly interested whether the movement sell or doesn't sell and he did a price drop from USD 500 to 375? Sounds .... just weird.
  7. Couldn't agree more. Anyway, AR on a fiddy really bothers me alot as I have never seen a domed crystal with AR for the gen. I have the chance to own a gen 217 and to the naked eye, you can almost hardly see a tint of AR in it. It does have a tiny tint of purplish color when you look at the side profile where the curvy sides of the crystal is. But it is really subtle. Hence if yours is without any AR, yours would be the next thing to a Gen. Scream replica when there is no AR? Well, maybe you missed the thread on the Rep Fiddy on panerisiti forum?
  8. I told you that Im a sucker for Replica VS functionality.
  9. Thanks Mate.... Finally its on my wrist and I am extremely happy with it. :-)
  10. Hello guys, Its me again after a long wait with all the modds done and here are the promised pictures and a list of what I have done with the DSN ultimate Fiddy: 1) Replace dial with older version (most accurate) but still using out of the box lume "backplate" from DSN 2) File and improve on CG 3) Remove AR from DSN Crystal (okay, okay, I admit that I am a sucker for REPLICA vs functionality) 4) Custom made leather strap from Savage (Scot Salmon) (vbarrett is an expert in straps isn't it? Please take a look at mine vbarrett! Not too bad right?) As you can see, there is not a lot that needs to be done with Davidsen's Fiddy (at least to me) and I must say that David is a very nice gentleman and do honour what he promised. I do understand that some have QC issues with him as I read about him from this forum, but ultimately, he still managed to get the job done in the end. Without further ado, here is some amatuer shots at the massive beast. In different lighting conditions (sorry for the reflection, it is really tough to take pics of this one!): On my puny wrist (now you don't see it): On Scot's (aka Savage FULLY customised strap) Take a look at the E movement (extremeeeeely sweet!) Okay, how can we ever miss out a lume shot? Overall, I am extremely pleased with the watch (though it is not the best rep in the world) and I know that this is definitely a keeper. Simply love the 5mm thick strap made by Scot (Super reasonable price, FAST turnover rate, EXTREMELY Friendly artisan, Period). Also, would like to thank everyone who has posted pictures of his/her Fiddy; this certainly adds as a catalyst to my purchase. Thanks alot David, you have make my day... (year) Have a great day folks!
  11. Or simply check on the height of the hour and minute hands. .... If there is a good space allowance, simply file the minute hand. :-)
  12. And forgot to add that, a sapphire does not "scratched" but it does gets chipped off and this makes the appearance very close to looking scratched. The remedy will be me using a diamond paste to try to work it back to its former glory...
  13. It is definitely sapphire... Just that I might use a little too much strength on it. How do I know its sapphire? it cannot be scratch when I try to knock it on other surface.... and when you knock it against your teeth, it has a distinctive pitch and it is the same as my gen. Yeah, it is always a risk when dealing with reps. I agree. The sandpaper works real fast. And I realised that the thinner didn't help though, and with the autosol, (additional grit) it works wonders. Really, I tried it on my other AR crystal and the job was done in less than 5 mins. It was the same type of AR too from DSN. :-)
  14. http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-VINTAGE-OMEGA-WRI...1QQcmdZViewItem LOL..... almost died laughing!
  15. THAT IS SOOOOO SCARY!!!!! How did you know??????? I asked Scot to do a strap for me. I really like the style of the crazy horse version. I simply cannot wait to see it as well. And I will have to get those diamond paste to remove those tiny specs of scratches inside the crystal. And plus upgrade my dial .... PRESTO! I can almost see it all coming! LOL Can't wait to do all these.... maybe I should take leave from work. Or get medical leave due to my acetone lungs. LOL
  16. Yip! you will be sure that I will. I have ordered many items (dial and custom made strap) for this Fiddy. Hope that all ends well. I will post my fully modded Ultimate DSN Fiddy when it is done. ;-) Cheers mate.
  17. I beg to differ. I know the AR looks great on the rest of the Pams. But for this particular model where the inside is not completely flat, and when the blue hue starts to shows up, it makes the crystal looks really bad and exaggerate on the uneven-ness. But with the white light, with the AR gone, the outside white light reflection and the insde white reflection, doesn't make the uneven-ness of the crystal looks obvious.
  18. I think its still intact and fine. But somehow, it just feel smooth....
  19. Yeah, its single sided, but DOUBLE layer AR it seems..... REALLY tough, I am not even kidding!
  20. Definitely! the AR coat was really really tough! When I thought that the layer of the deep blue was gone, I found yet another layer of lighter blue layer! DOUBLE layer AR! What luck when I don't need double layer! Nah, the autosol + sandpaper didn't remove the scratches. Now I bought myself some diamond paste, I will try to work it out.... wait for a week or two for my new update! LOL
  21. Sometimes I really hate myself not having a dremel tool!
  22. As some of you know that I am in the process of modding my Pam Fiddy. One of the biggest problem that annoys me is the crazy deep blue AR that is presented in the sapphire crystal. The gen has an AR that is almost invisible to the eye. And it is ONLY visible at a corner, and it is very light and most of the time, it reflect a reddish purplish tone. Hence, if yours has no AR, you are very close to the gen. Here are my DIY equipment, all lined up at the sink: I read somewhere that you need some thinner and steel wool and alot of strength to remove the AR, which I did and tried. The results: A swollen thumb and a loss of 5 million calories. And thats not all, remains of the nenemis, code named "AR", about 40% is still presented in the crystal. And that is 30 mins worth of effort. And not forgetting my lungs are pretty filled up and equipped with acetone vapour (foolish of me as I didn't have a mask with me). And on a closer look, the sapphire crystal even has a few tiny hairline scratches (about 1-2mm in length, less than 5 microns deep)... damnit. I never thought that steel can actually chip off some of the sapphire to create such tiny scratches. Well, it is not really visible even if you scrutinize, but being a perfectionist in my work, I just hate the way it looks. :-( Hence I took a breather, (heartbroken too) and decided that I should try something else. And light shed on these: TADA! The holy sandpaper (fine grit) and the Autosol (Brasso works the same too) Squeeze some autosol on the crystal... Rub with the sandpaper with my sore thumb.... AND it works! Yes, I know that the steel wool with the acetone works too. But it took the hell out of me and furthermore, it leave some tiny scratches that I wasn't too pleased about. (Maybe my wool has tiny sapphire or diamond crust on it? or maybe my sapphire was a sapphire rep???) This method, using sandpaper and autosol works wonder and with the least effort, and time, the AR was called home to the Lords. (I heard my name too, with my heavily filled with acetone lungs) Hope this post of mine help those who wants to remove their AR too. Other suggestions (to make me look stupid) are welcome too! All the best with yours!
  23. I agree with you. I actually managed to strip the AR yesterday.... Alot of hard work as I tried a few methods and one of the method actually leave a small scratch in the crystal! No kidding! Not as tough as I thought... I will post some pictures on the process of the AR stripping in another post to help others who might be interested to do so.
  24. Hello Evildee, That is absolutely correct. Can point me to the right person or place to get this dial? If you can, please PM me. Thank you again!
  25. Thanks! I will have to google for that strap later. Beautiful! Thanks again!
