  1. I bought ELs 127 (I think it's the previous version from the one he's currently selling) and it's very good. It's a 581 caseback and I don't believe the case is far from 1:1. I've had the hands and pin done, but haven't needed to have it relumed because I don't think it needs it. I get a bright noticeable glow when I go from outside to inside, and am able to see the lume after 8 hours by the side of my bed overnight.

The only thing against it is that I think it's a mineral crystal but to be honest, I'm not 100% sure about that!

I wear it on custom made distressed brown leather, it's a beaut.

  2. Ahh, keyboard warriors, love 'em :D

If he's that bad, why is it that many people on here seem to recommend him for so much stuff? Certainly anyone mentions any Omega upgrades and they get pointed to him and I've read a lot of posts suggesting using him.

Seems very strange if he's been bad like this for a long time.

  3. I wore a £1200 (so about $2300) Tag for five years continuously, except when I was sleeping and thought nothing of it. It was a real beater, got knocked about and scratched up and it didn't bother me in the slightest.

I feel the same about my reps. I'm a bit more careful about them getting wet but that's mainly because the majority are on leather but I didn't treat the gen any differently than I do to the reps really.

  4. Perhaps I'm not explaining it right.

On straps where the second keeper isn't used, I remove it. This would be any commercial strap, I've never found a pre-made one yet that's long enough for me to have to use two keepers.

However, on custom straps such as the one posted above and this one:

I glue the second keeper in place so that when the strap goes through it, I don't have to mess around adjusting the position.

    Is that clearer?

  5. Went to visit mum and dad today and my mum handed me this....

First picture is sans flash, second and third are with flash hence the different colouring.

I'm sure I remember wearing that when I was about 7, it was the first watch I got and I got it for Christmas. I've just turned 40 so it makes it around 33 years old. I reckon I'd have worn it pretty much continuously for around 7 or 8 years until I got my first digital watch (hey, it was fashionable at the time). It's been roughly treated.

Excuse what you can see of the bracelet, my mum wore it for a while a few years back.

It works. Sort of. Sometimes it'll run for hours with no problems but other times it just stops every few minutes. When the crown is pulled (it's not screw-down lol) and turned the movement feels very very lumpy and bumpy.

There would once have been luminous dots as the number markers, they're just brown blobs now although the hands still do have a faint glow after being exposed to light. It is very faint though.

Note - Not SWISS MADE but GREAT BRITAIN :)
