  1. ^^^ These are my questions as well.

I have Bank of America, and they say both in person at a bank branch + on their computers that both transactions

(one for the principal, one for an international transaction fee charge) have been completed and received by the seller.

Why refund when it went through?

    What's going on?

    Still no response from them.

  2. Made an order for a bit over $700 last week with PureTime.

This weekend they sent me an email saying they're having problems with their credit card/debit card system...

They told me they will refund my $$$, then I should instead send them $$$ via WU.

Yet 4 biz days later, my charge for over $700 still shows up on the negative column in my bank statements.

I'm not doing anything crazy...they are a TD and I am giving them the benefit of the doubt for a couple days...but...

Anyone ever have this issue with PT?

I've never ordered with them before.

  3. Buy a BP FF or wait for one of the new Tudor Pelagos examples to come out.

Then buy a project BMW (auto or motorcycle!) or an old American truck, an old Porsche, a boat, something fun...

or if moving vehicles aren't your thing, take a big trip or two.

wear that FF or new Tudor in the Caribbean, in the south of France, in the back of an old Landie in Africa, in a US national park etc...

IOTW, gens aren't worth it, unless said gen cost 500quid.

  4. can't believe they're calling grey market cases and dodgy modded parts ''original'' when basically they are too ashamed to say they are doing what we do.

if it didnt have fake vintage lume and the proportions were better i'd probably buy :)

  5. I looked in a drawer today and realized that at one time my favorite watch was the Radiomir Black Seal.

It's so clean and efficient compared to the blocky cases of the Luminors...it's probably best to have one of each at minimum in your collection :)

So my Black Seal was worn for a couple months when I too lost a screw out of the case.

I did what everyone did which is order more screws, then locktite em in.

Of course, then it's almost impossible to change straps...

It seems the problem isn't getting any better, as evidenced by the recent um, threads concerning the topic:

    http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/163617-pam388-stripped-screws/

Anybody found an answer to this question?

It seems the case metal is too soft for the screws (and sometimes even for the screw in crown.)

Even gens aren't immune to this problem.

Maybe we just need to find a few strap makers that create thin enough straps to slip on and off of locktite'd Rad cases...

    any ideas?????

  6. i also second Nanuq's FJ40. great vehicle.

my first rig was an '89 Wrangler----drove it across the country three times, and basically lived out of it when I lived in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.

always saw the FJ as a more classic version of the YJ and TJ Jeeps.

  7. While in LA and Atlanta I drove a $700 chevy cavalier. Also wore a gen AirKing and gen 5512 Sub.

Also had a gen PAM 111H but sold it to buy other watches.

In London I wore the 5512 to punk rock gigs, record store parties, all night techno parties etc...

rarely if at all did anyone notice it or comment...

Once or twice I got a comment about the rollie---I would say yeah---wanna see the movement?

''Real vintage rolexes have cool movements.''

I would then unscrew the back (i kept it only handtightened----no way am i swimming with a gen vintage rollie)

and show em the rotor and movt etc...

    I usually wear Levi's and a blank t-shirt...cheap shoes.

I also don't really care what 99 percent of the world thinks :)
