  1. This all started out from a basic DSN 5218-201a:

The indices looked a little too orange for my liking, so off to Rex for a movement swap from Ofrei. (Swiss 6497). I also had him install a T48 from the wonderful Tourby. He also removed any and all AR coating.

After waiting for a while and several emails from Rex regarding the massive amount of lume required for this dial. (Which unlike gen, GLOWS LIKE A NIGHT LIGHT) It finally arrived looking like this:

Now it was getting a little clearer. It seems that this FishGoDeep (FGD) fellow you guys have makes some pretty d@mn nice dials. I lucked out and got a pretty nice 009 from a member on RG, and realized this dude is bad A$$!!

Wow. I need an FGD 201a dial like NOW!!!

About a week later, I get a PM from a member claiming he would like to sell his FGD 2nd Gen 201a dial. I jumped on the chance, BUT...

My watch was currently with the wonderous Flava Flav. He was going to modify my currentl dial and install one of the incredibly accurate Little Hero (LH) CG's to the watch. The member shipped the dial direcly to him. He noticed that the dial's finish was a bit off. A few VERY MINOR marks and lacked that matte finish. After a little flav lovin. This is what I received in the mail today...

Now I just need to get that EL 201a caseback from Miles... :) :)

Excuse the quick pics. Too excited and busy to start taking the right pics.

So here is my DSN201a with T48, LH CG, FGD Dial, with work from some of the best modders around; Rex and Flav.

Thanks guys. Now if only my 112 would ever return...

  2. You will not have too much luck on the bay. Keep scouring the sales threads here and one may pop up, but be ready to act fast becuase those things sell VERY quickly.

Every now and then you can find some Gen accessories (Dials, hands, etc...) on the risti. Be ready to pay, because they are not cheap.

  3. I finally realized why everyone says pick the dealer first; then the rep.

I have spent the last week scanning almost every for sale listing driving myself crazy. I have sent pms to DSN, BK, DSN, VAC, and other members; have visited every site from Silix, Ruby, PT, Euro, and TT. (I have ordered from both Silix and Josh in the past without issues)

Finally pulled the first trigger a few minutes ago on a pam 036 ti and a $39.00 Yachti for kicks.

Still not done. Now Vac and I have gone over 20 emails trying to sort out what I want as my PURELY FANTASTIC rep.

I must say that some members have been incredibly patient with my 21 questions and have gone above and beyond my expectations.

From now on, I will stick with one or two dealers and save myself many headaches from shopping. I will keep you posted on the forthcoming reps and maybe I can finally get some work done and get off this forum for a few minutes.

Thanks everyone for your incredible help and shared knowledge.
