For sure trusted dealers are the best option, for a reason they are named "trusted" meaning you will get what you ordered, you will have their aftersale support, etc.
For a newbie it is always better to take time and to read before buying. I remember when I discovered this hobby 15 yrs ago it was like for a kid in a candy shop, wanted everything immediately but it takes some time until you understand all the "rules" of the hobby and how it goes. Better to study everything with care and then to proceed with the orders..it can save you a lot of trouble & money!

Pay it forward, the strength of this community is it’s members. We were all beginners once😉

Trusted Dealers on this or any of the fora are Trusted for a reason. We get no kickback or financial benefits so we can be truly independent if a problem arises
our TDs are here:-
https://rwg.cc/forum/230-watches-clothing-parts-accessories/
Dealers don’t always keep the links up to date, but the members can always help you with the latest link. Don’t follow google links, scammers have been known to set up clone sites, so always use a known link from within the community

If none of the Trusted Dealers can source a watch, I would take that as a strong indication that the watch does not exist as a rep and a none TD who claims to be able obtain it is either running a scam or bait and switch

Hello brother, what model Submariner are you after?
I’m also into lounging lizards😉🤫⚓️🦎

Welcome to our community, there are a couple of guys in Singapore who undertake some repair work. Perhaps if you share details of the watch and the problem, they may make themselves known to you

Always good to see you Ken, best wishes always

Hello and welcome

Interested in a 20mm if you can

Some serious names there. Sometimes a watch is about the story, the journey and the people involved. Those of us who like franken builds come to feel this way, but it is great when a genuine watch has that journey and achievement to it. You honoured the memory of your friend with this restoration

Domi is the sh*t...
1) Deepened the crown tube placement, removing metal. New tube installed.
2) Drilled holes for gen dial feet in the mainplate > sturdy and keeps the dials value.
3) Modded keyless, new stem to make it only 1 hack, for setting the time
4) Adapted gen hands to fit the Powermatic 80 movement
5) Lathed a custom movement ring..
Skickat från min iPhone med TapatalkNow that is really fantastic, both the work and the option of a gen dial and ETA movement

Wow, September 2018 and you joined here almost a year later just to tell us, cute
Generally “hello, I’m new to the forum” and such like works better.
Of course you could have taken the matter up with the Mods here in 2018 if you were a member and we would have interceded on your behalf

Thanks BUT...NO thanks! I expected a more mature and professional answer, especially as I specified that I am a beginner.
So if anyone is serious out there please let me know:
- how to use this movement best so I don't damage it
- is it an asian Eta, what kind?
- how many times should I wind it if it stops?
Seriously it is a cheap 21 jewel movement, use it as a daily watch or an occasional wear. No it is not an ETA clone. Wind it however you prefer, eventually it will break as do all mechanical things, but it is a very cheap movement to replace. Lastly if you want help on this forum, don’t go out of your way to become unpopular with those far more knowledge than you currently are
