  1. Thanks for the reply! I just noticed you're in Florida - I live in Orlando. If you happen to be in the area, do you recommend anyone good to do the servicing? I took off the back case and everything was spinning - but the second hand will not move...its weird...its completely stagnant...but after 5-10 minutes it will be in a different position...so it appears just to be moving realllly realllly slowly lol
  2. Hi guys, I ordered a bunch of watches and a few of them came in today. They all worked perfectly except for one which arrived DOA - it was a solid gold submariner with an A2813 movement. I was really looking forward to this one Anyway, I wanted to ask if anyone knows of a cheap alternative besides sending the watch back to the TD for replacement/repair. I am thinking of maybe just swapping out the movement for a new one, I know the 2813's really arent that expensive. Does anyone know where I can buy one? Then I'll just find a watch smith to do the dirty work. Or is this a bad idea?
  3. I was aware of the countdown feature, I'm fine with it... I know that the cheaper models have an issue with the gold wearing off, but this one is supposedly plated with actual 18k (according to the description, anyway...but clearly there's other errors in the description, so i wont keep my fingers crossed lol)....So, I'm hoping it lasts. I'll follow up to this with an update when it arrives, and i'll post some pics.
  4. I was browsing the selection of Yachtmaster II's on Trusty Time's website and I came across this: http://www.ttw8488.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_10&products_id=12945 The description says "1:1 dimensions against the genuine" but is listed as 42mm....I've been Googling for the past 40 minutes and all the genuine specs seem to have the YMII as a 44mm....has anyone ever heard of a genuine YMII being 42mm?
  5. Great feedback. Thanks for the inputs. I'll work on those lower expectation, man on bike forgive the question, I tried searching the matter in the search bar but didn't quite hit the nail on the head with the results that showed up. And thanks for the welcome greetings. Learning more everyday.
  6. I ordered a Rolex with a modified/decorated 3135 movement from a TD (I will not name who), and requested QC pictures of the movement and my request was denied. Is this normal? I was told that it would void the factory warranty. So, do they not expect me to open it up either to verify that the movement I paid extra for, is indeed inside of the watch I receive?? If I do, it voids the warranty? anyone have input on this issue?
  7. I was browsing through a couple TD's websites and none seem to have Bvlagri watches (anymore?); they have Bvlgari sections, but nothing listed under them. Anyone know a reason for this?
  8. I see! Thanks, Toro! I already put in the order and sent the payment to your paypal Looking forward to it!
  9. Can someone tell me why one is $100 more than the other?! they have the same exact specs?? http://www.torobravo2015.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=1531 http://www.torobravo2015.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=35_52&product_id=595
  10. Having such a hard time deciding between these two...does anyone have any experience with these (reps)? I think part of me just likes the way "montbrillant" sounds over "navitimer"
  11. Thanks! from outer-edge to outer-edge of the case, it measures 41.9mm (not including crown)
  12. I recently just replaced the alligator strap on my Baume & Mercier Classima Executives Chronograph with a brown Panatime rock python strap, and I couldn't be happier! The quality of their straps is pretty nice for a very decent price! (I paid about $50)...the strike through price on Amazon was like $200, I'm not sure if this is the actual MSRP, or if it's just a marketing gimmick that companies use to make customers feel like they're getting a deal...but, either way, I'm very pleased with the quality...I intend on buying the horn-back alligator strap from them after I wear this one out. Here's some pics! what do you think?
  13. Thank you for the informative post. I will most certainly post many pictures when they arrive.
  14. I just ordered 3 watches from trusty time (Andrew), can anyone tell me if they have any experience with the following watches from him? or just your general impressions of the quality based on the description? Particularly the YMII; are they actually plated with 18k gold? - Bus http://www.ttw8488.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_7&products_id=10955 http://www.ttw8488.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=21_165&products_id=3613 http://www.ttw8488.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_10&products_id=12944
  15. I just replaced the black hornback alligator straps with this sweet panatime rock python strap...loving it, looks like a whole new watch
  16. TD just replied saying payment was rceived.
  17. thanks for the calming words.. I'll keep you posted.
  18. I'm sure you are right. I hope you are anyway. Certainly quick to provide the WU details, and not so quick to reply after money received though. Keeping my fingers crossed. As you all can see I'm very new to this, so I'm trusting in your seasoned words.
  19. Well, an entire day has passed and still no answer
  20. ah ok, well he is the only other person who had the MTCN number, so it must have been him. WU never directed me to provide the MTCN to the receiver (even though I did), so I didn't know that it was needed for collection. Anyhow, if that's the case, then no one else but him would have been able to collect. Im sure its all good.
  21. Just a few AP's that were on sale, relatively inexpensive at $208 each
  22. I recently placed an order with one of the TD's and paid via western union, it shows that the money was picked up yesterday, I asked the TD to confirm and still haven't heard back, granted its only like 10am in China where he lives and he's probably still doing morning stuff and getting ready for his day, so I'm not too worried.., but the whole process got me thinking... the only information that western union required was his name and country...THATS IT! so anyone with his same name that lives in china can technically walk into a western union and claim the funds...It was a relatively large order too...has anyone ever had any issues with western union and people claiming money that shouldn't have claimed it? I am sure everything is fine, and it actually was the TD who received the funds (hopefully he replies back soon and puts my mind at ease lol), but the lack of information that WU requires to send money overseas just kinda got my nerves rattled.
