  1. May i ask why not? Its not the best but a franken daydate (2) would have become to expensive and this one looked mostly ok except a few issues.
  2. Bought a rep noob in the end. Its a really good rep but some small issues. good as is but fixing the below flaws would make it near perfect. * the links are the old style end links is there a way to modify them to replicate the new style 40mm ? * the datewheel is not in the right font * the fonts i think are a tiny little bit thinner guess this is non fixable. * the crown is not 1-1 no deal breaker its a little bit thicker
  3. Nobody got this watch or has some opinions? I was suprised I could not transfer money by paypal so i have to transfer it regularly. Would that be safe? They told me getting Quality Pictures is only possible when they recieve funds because they have to buy the watch from the factory and dont going to pay that amount upfront.
  4. Got contact with Francis from Iwatchstation.com; Is it normal you pay first before any quality pictures upfront? sales.watchstation@gmail.com
  5. Or this one: http://www.tswatches.cn/xfro6010-daydate-ii-gold-dial-full-yg-41mm-swiss-eta-2836-p-3200.html A little better dail color combination, the white in post above is a bit "off" to my taste.
  6. What is the opinion off this replica watch that I think resembles the original daydate 2 close? Since building a franken non 36mm is almost impossible and the dails are 1000 dollar + it seems not a feasible solution. There is also a movie in the page below, it almost look gen like is the one in the video a gen is this fake? The watch is on several websites if you search for " DAY DATE II YG NOOB YELLOW GOLD DIAL ON YG BRACELET A3135 " Price listed is around 380 Dollar, what would be the best place to get this watch from? Details: http://iwatchstation.com/day-date-ii-yg-noob-yellow-gold-dial-on-yg-bracelet-a3135.html SIZE 41mm x 13mm MOVEMENT Nickel-plated Asian 2836 clone movement modified to Rolex Cal.3135 look FUNCTIONS Hours, minutes, seconds, day and date display CASE 18k yellow gold plated solid 316L stainless steel case CRYSTAL Scratch-proof sapphire crystal DIAL Yellow gold dial BEZEL Fluted 18k yellow gold plated solid 316L stainless steel bezel STRAP 18k yellow gold plated solid 316L stainless steel bracelet CLASP Deployant clasp WATER RESISTANCE 50 Meters
  7. Thank you for the advice. I can get the broken stem out there is some room left on it. Going to order those stems and let you all know how it worked out.
  8. Thank you I will try to do this replacement. Thread locker and basic watch tools I have the basics. I dont have PML but lithium grease I have on stock. Do you know if the above hands would work I posted in the link to the ebay? They state for Tudor but assumed they where both the same and the 2386-2 is listed as compatible so assume that would be safe.
  9. @mymanmatt I have been struggling with the size, owning already the datejust 16234 in 36mm a normal president daydate would be to similar in my opinion. Do you sell also DayDate 2 case + bracelet ? In 41 mm that would make a difference. Owning 2 visual identical watches does not make much sense for me.
  10. Since its a 2836-2 stem I assume this would be a correct replacement: 6 WINDING STEM FOR TUDOR WATCH MOVEMENT ETA 2824-2,2834-2,2836-2 SWISS Anyone knows if this would be the correct stem? Im still awaiting back case tool so im unable to check the stem used so far.
  11. Indeed ment the stem. broken as i looked up reference pictures of it. I should have removed it before pressing the glass it must have been "hit" so lesson learned. It seems the rolex crown holds the stem in place there is a little bit of the stem still in the rolex crown. I assume one could take it out somehow? If not glued on. So my thoughts are: 1) remove backcase 2) unscrew stem from clock so it can be removed. 3) get a new stem and remove the part that is stuck inside the rolex crown. Any advice regarding that? Also im going to buy a watch glass press So there is some info on the movement and replacement of stem. Seems tricky again. http://rwg.cc/topic/148969-eta-2836-2-stem-removal-button easy to mess up. any idea where to get a stem for this movement? I rather not replace whole movement because of the alignment hell which comes with it. Also I think the crown and stem are glued together whixh is really unfortunate so i probably going to need another crown to or just put it in fluid that dissolves the glue?
  12. The rolex crown with a short pin is loose after glass repair. What would be the way to make i attach again correctly? ill be getting a caseback opener tool in the next 2 weeks. Any advice on how to make the short pin attach again to the clock mechanism again? it was a mymanmatt build and i managed to fix the glass myself. Without proper tools in a nerve breaking attemp which worked out fine thank god. im a bit sad the crown is loose does no seem broken but i can just pull it out and it wont set date time or let me rewind anymore Any advice on howto fix when i can re attach it correctly after im able to open the caseback? Not sure how its on gen datejust but it feels strange the crown can be pulled out as a seperate part. From start the crown felt a little unstable as in easily breakable. love to have the watch back on after 2 months in the drawer. Hope this can be resolved
  13. Had bought another one in the meantime a little more expensive with 29.5 mm thanks for the replies
  14. Anyone can advice no where to buy daydate (rep) case, casebacks and other parts? I want to try build a franken president but cannot even find a source to buy parts from.
  15. Could not find any reviews or experiences on this one: http://www.uhrenreparatur24.de/html/rlx_spezial.php?id=00404 emiprofessioneller Gehäuseöffner für geriffelte Böden, R-L-X - Tudr etc. Geliefert werden 6 Einsätze: Nr. 0 = 18.5 mm, Nr. 1 = 20.20 mm, Nr. 2 = 22.50 mm, Nr. 3 = 26.50 mm, Nr. 4 = 28.30 mm, Nr. 5 = 29.50 mm und ein Griffstück im hochwertigen Karton mit Hartschaumeinlage. zurück Seems to open all regular rolex sizes. If the daydate is 29.5, it should work? Anyone knows if this is any good and does work for a rolex 16234 datejust? Its 58 euro so a bit sad if after ordering it would not fit.
  16. Thank you but this is rarher expensive and heavy. I plan to open it up now then close it; i may need to service it once every uewr or so so a tool that will work for occasional use woukd be okay. most advertisements do not list the serial numbers it works for. Any specific brands i should search for?
  17. Im looking to get a caseback opener tool since getting my caseback off has failed on several attempts with a "watch ball" searching on ebay im unable to find one that lists the datejust 16234 as conpatible and several ones with review that failed opening this rolex caseback 16234 can anyone advice me a caseback tool that works that works for a 16234 caseback? Preferrable not a set just the tool and the caseback screw
  18. Thank you I found some info and ordered 2 clark replacement glasses. Going to use a plastic tube with tape for carefull pressure the glass back in with a regular workbench hooe that works out okay. Not making some mistakes like wetting the glass. i could not get the glass of my datejust so now is the idea to get the backcase off which also failed with a bought watch ball for backcases. My idea is to carefully get the watch out then breaking the glass and hopefully be able to remove the fluted bezel then. Hooe that will work out and the glass wil match. I have informed before i bought. Coudent get contact eith matt so inthoight trying to resolve this myself. Will post some pictures as follow up in case in future someone wants to do it themself
  19. Came across this cheap replica not sure if this site is legit. What do you think about it? http://www.perfectwatches.cn/rolex-day-date-40-ice-blue-dial-stainless-steel-case-and-bracelet-1453198
  20. So it would become possible to build a "new" 40mm like introduced by Rolex last year; except the bracelet. Not really an issue but; do you know if, and when there will be a new bracelet out? One could start with the older one you suggested and lateron swap it. If looking for a dail from you what would be the numbers that are compatible Matt? Since the 228238 is the new rolex 2015 model right; there must be compatible dial also from earlier models or can we get any of the new dails at a reasonable price? or else what dail numbers would be a match. The most difficult thing is to know/ find information on what parts match together and there reference number. I have purchased most of the tools required for the build. And this topic seems like a very good howto guidance on how to proceed: http://rwg.cc/topic/158976-diy-how-to-make-a-frankenjust Could you advise any caseback openers? Or would "the plasic ball" work? Thank you for your advice regarding this build.
  21. Hi Matt, Above link was just for reference should have added that in the post itself. Im still investigating the options Matt, since I already have the datejust from you with black dail. Going for a DD with whitegold and a white dail would make the watch very flat in my opinion, looking for some contrast in the dail vs the bracelet. Then one would go for a black dail; but that would be almost an exact replica of the datejust in black and metal. So have been looking at gold ones also to make a well informed decision. Really liked the contrast of this a gold DD and black dail with gold indicators like: https://www.leebrantwatchco.com/products/rolex-day-date-president-mens-18k-gold-watch-champagne-stick-dial-fluted-bezel-president-bracelet-style-18238 That would be a 18238 in 36mm diameter, im looking for a 40mm diameter. Its very hard ( now with the rolex having the new 40mm version ) to find the referencen numbers for a 40mm DD non 2015/2016. The 11839 would also be 36mm from what I find. The one in the link if that would be available in 40mm would be perfect I think. Im mainly searching chrono24 for reference numbers than look them up on google af the moment.
  22. Awesome post! Nice pictures! Plan to build my own also, good luck on the watch!
  23. Some work issues, I wont be able to look at it tomorrow. And we have our timezone, but ill do my best. Think it will work out fine
  24. Think for now Ill skip the idea of a glacier dail since the price is also very high. For example found this one today: https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/wijzerplaat-day-date-ii-zifferblatt--id3886338.htm 1015 euro. Nice silver and gold ones go for 300 / 400 euro on chrono.
  25. I have been searching te whole internet for a complete set of pictures for reference on DAILS for the datejust and daydate. Could not find any topic here in that regard, or not searched correctly? Is this available somewhere or do I need a paper version of reference guid / enceclopyedia
